Rebirth: Clinging to My Possessive Magnate
Chapter 1396: Snap
Chapter 1396: Chapter 1396: Snap
If she couldn’t even do the basic things like reading faces and guessing intentions, how could she have survived in those shady companies?
"What did she tell you before I arrived?" Sophie Wilson asked.
"She asked for my name and confirmed the room number." Charles Seymour, of course, didn’t hide anything from Sophie Wilson, and he told her everything honestly.
"Oh, that’s quite strategic." Sophie Wilson laughed and patted Charles Seymour on the shoulder, "My Mr. Seymour is really a hot commodity."
She had only been away for a short while, and he was already targeted.
Hmm, to be honest, she really hadn’t thought about this before.
"Don’t push it too far," Charles Seymour warned Sophie Wilson.
Sophie Wilson narrowed her eyes: "Are you feeling sorry for her?"
Charles Seymour reached out and pinched Sophie Wilson’s nose: "You’re here to travel with me, not to provoke people. Focus on me, not someone else."
Upon hearing this, Sophie Wilson burst into laughter: "Mr. Seymour, are you jealous?"
"Yes." Charles Seymour admitted straightforwardly.
"Hey, that woman is targeting you, so if anyone’s going to be jealous, it should be me, right? Did you mix something up?" Sophie Wilson asked Charles Seymour with a laugh.
Charles Seymour shook his head and put a piece of barbecued pork in Sophie Wilson’s bowl: "Eat."
Doesn’t he know Sophie’s personality?
If there’s something fun, she can definitely toss him aside, especially if someone is targeting him — she becomes even more enthusiastic.
Sure enough, a spontaneous trip like this wasn’t so easy; this time there was a mistake — they didn’t investigate the hotel’s owner.
After they finished afternoon tea and returned to the room, Jim Perry received a call from his boss amidst his busy work in the Imperial City. After listening, he was a bit confused: "Wait, boss, why are you investigating so thoroughly when you’re just traveling?"
If he followed his boss’s request to investigate, he seriously doubted whether his boss was on a trip with the boss’s wife or planning something extreme like wiping out an entire family.
"This trip was uncomfortable because I didn’t do enough research," Charles Seymour said blandly.
"But boss, normal people... not even abnormal people would investigate an entire hotel while traveling, from the owner down to the employees’ personal backgrounds and friendships." Jim Perry tried to influence his boss with a normal person’s mindset.
Could his boss stop being so impulsive?
Wasn’t he busy enough already?
"Investigate when necessary in the future." After Charles Seymour stated his requirement, he hung up the phone.
Jim Perry stared at the phone, speechless.
What kind of ridiculous demand was this?
His boss hadn’t been out traveling for even a day — what had happened?
"Boss, can you give me a reason?" Jim Perry dialed back, unwilling to give up. He wanted to know the reason!
Even if it’s going to kill him, he wants to die with a clear understanding!
"The hotel owner harassed me." Charles Seymour’s annoyed voice made Jim Perry burst into laughter, "Who dares to? Boss, you’re perfectly capable of handling it."
For such a trivial matter, his boss was being too dramatic.
"Sophie saw it..." Charles Seymour was growing more and more disheartened.
"The boss’s wife doesn’t trust you?" Jim Perry exclaimed; it couldn’t be true.
"Sophie got interested and wants to play. I’m out here to play with Sophie, but she’s not playing with me — instead going to play with someone else..."
"Boss, I’ve got a lot to deal with, hanging up!" Jim Perry clicked and hung up fiercely, gritting his teeth.
They’ve gone out to have fun, yet he’s still remotely feeding dog food!
Is there any humanity left?
