Chapter 1401: Chapter 1401: Cooperation

"My husband is pretty decent; I dated him for a year. He’s hardworking and never complains. I finally thought he’s someone I could build a life with, so we got married." Sophie Wilson said calmly, but Isabella Chamberlain clearly heard the dissatisfaction in Sophie’s words.

Sophie Wilson’s probably just a gold digger, right?

Under the guise of dating, she’s actually using her boyfriend’s money like crazy?

How many normal marriageable men would fall for such a woman?

Looks like Charles Seymour is really easy to manipulate.

Sooner or later, she’ll need a husband, a handsome man with some skills who’s easy to control, he’s definitely the one.

"As for him..." Sophie said while casting a disdainful glance at Charles Seymour, "He’s only obsessed with work all day long, knows nothing. If it weren’t for me dragging him out to travel, he’d definitely work himself to death on overtime at the company."

"Tell me, the company doesn’t even offer overtime pay, why work so hard?"

Charles Seymour silently listened on the side, feeling speechless; it’s a pity his wife didn’t break into the entertainment industry.

She can totally be her own writer, director, and actor.

How could he earn overtime pay when he’s working for his own company?

"If it weren’t for me, who would marry him?" Sophie concluded, and instantly, a hint of awkwardness flicked through Charles’ eyes.

If his wife is having fun, how could he not cooperate?

Sure enough, Isabella Chamberlain, seeing Charles’ expression, felt secretly delighted.

"Well, it seems you two are meant to be, otherwise, how would you come together?" Isabella praised with a smile, then turning around, she excitedly announced, "Master Clark is here."

"Master Clark." Isabella cheerfully waved, running towards him.

A man in his forties, dressed in a magnificent traditional Chinese gown, appeared ahead; he looked ordinary but seemed very astute.

This astuteness instantly made his aura mismatched with his attire, creating an indescribable weirdness.

Strangely enough, everyone around seemed to pay no attention to this fact, warmly greeting him upon seeing Master Clark.

"A legendary figure indeed." Sophie Wilson sighed softly.

Charles Seymour watched coldly, "This gemstone expert probably has some real skills."

"But I don’t like him," a flash of something crossed Sophie’s mind, turning her gaze cold.

Charles looked amusingly at Sophie, "You’re the one who wants to play."

Now, seeing Isabella Chamberlain’s reliance, she transferred that dislike onto him.

Sophie rolled her eyes at Charles, "Am I that petty?"

Charles instantly understood the key point, "You know him?"

"Just heard of his reputation, never met him." Sophie sneered, "I’ll tell you later."

With Sophie saying this, Charles didn’t ask further.

At this point, Master Clark had already walked over with Isabella Chamberlain.

Isabella Chamberlain said excitedly, "Mr. Seymour, Mrs. Seymour, we’re just about to select raw gemstone material, if you’re interested, do come along."

"Sure." Sophie’s lips curled upwards, displaying a pure smile, with no trace of the previous chill.

"Master Clark." Sophie smiled sweetly as she approached, asking curiously like a child, "I just heard from Miss Chamberlain that you’re really amazing, you can tell if there’s jade inside the raw material. Can you really see what’s inside the raw material?"
