Rebirth: Clinging to My Possessive Magnate
Chapter 1421: Mrs. Clark
Chapter 1421: Chapter 1421: Mrs. Clark
"Are you done with everything?" Sophie Wilson asked Patrick Grant, sitting in the restaurant.
"Yeah." Patrick Grant nodded slightly.
"Uncle Grant, you’re really putting in so much effort," Sophie Wilson said with a chuckle. "If it were other bosses, they’d have come over and cozied up to their superiors long ago. But you’re the opposite, running off to deal with work and leaving me here to cool my heels."
"Boss, I think work is more important." Patrick Grant, of course, knew Sophie Wilson was joking; that’s just how his boss was.
"If no one takes care of the company, it would really collapse." Patrick Grant chuckled as he looked at Sophie Wilson.
"Come on, Uncle Grant, see if there’s anything else you need; if there are dishes you like, just order them." Sophie Wilson quickly shoved the menu into Patrick Grant’s hand, then turned and snuggled into Charles Seymour’s embrace, pretending she hadn’t heard anything just now.
Patrick Grant chuckled, set the menu aside, and shook his head helplessly; his boss truly didn’t want to do any work, really hoping to expand her freeloader career.
"Not ordering?" Sophie Wilson asked curiously.
"I already ordered earlier," Patrick Grant replied. "Alright, I’ll keep managing the store’s affairs."
"Oh, Uncle Grant, hooray!" Sophie Wilson cheered, quickly getting up from Charles Seymour’s embrace and sitting upright.
As long as she’s not forced to manage things, she has no problems whatsoever.
"Uncle Grant, don’t push yourself too hard. When it’s time to travel, just go travel; when it’s time to play, just play. Our store’s business is still quite good, and the benefits are decent." Sophie Wilson advised, "Look, the employees at my decorating company still go on a yearly trip."
She always felt that Uncle Grant lived too miserably.
Despite being young, he was like an old man, always guarding the store.
She was truly worried that the events of the past still kept Uncle Grant from moving on.
"I don’t really enjoy traveling, and honestly, being able to watch those emeralds every day makes me happy," Patrick Grant said with a smile.
Sophie Wilson helplessly glanced at Patrick Grant; he was truly obsessed with those things.
"Patrick." A soft yet sorrowful voice suddenly rang out, causing Sophie Wilson and the others to turn their heads and look over.
They saw, standing by the partition, a woman in her forties.
She was dressed quite elegantly but appeared so delicate that her eyes were moist, almost like she was about to cry at any moment.
Being looked at with such eyes stirred an inexplicable softness in their hearts, making them want to step forward, wipe away her tears, and comfort her.
Just as long as she could show a smile, even if it meant giving up everything they had for her, it was worth it.
This person...
Sophie Wilson furrowed her brow; her identity was about to be revealed.
Patrick Grant smiled slightly upon seeing the woman, politely but distantly greeting her, "Mrs. Clark."
Upon hearing this title, Mrs. Clark seemed rather hurt, her eyes on Patrick Grant as if he had committed some unforgivable act.
"Hey, Uncle Grant, is this Mrs. Clark the one who, together with Master Clark, framed your ex-wife?" Sophie Wilson, worried that Patrick Grant might suffer, directly asked.
"What do you want?" Sophie Wilson asked directly. "Uncle Grant just found his life again; don’t come running back just because your husband is about to go bankrupt!"
Standing to the side, Charles Seymour’s eyes bore a faint smile as he watched Sophie Wilson’s rapid-fire words.
