Rebirth: Clinging to My Possessive Magnate
Chapter 1422: Magnificent and Virtuous
Chapter 1422: Chapter 1422: Magnificent and Virtuous
In just a few words, the woman’s "purpose" was revealed.
With this, Mrs. Clark probably can’t pretend to be pitiful anymore.
Sophie stepped in and cut off Mrs. Clark’s attempts at slander right from the start, let alone Mrs. Clark’s wish to rekindle old ties with Patrick.
There is no old affection, only old grudges.
Mrs. Clark’s delicate brows slightly furrowed, and with just this one frown, there’s a kind of heart-wrenching sorrow.
Sophie now understood why Patrick was harmed by his wife back then.
Such a delicate wife, who wouldn’t want to protect her well?
If the truth hadn’t been laid bare in the end, Patrick wouldn’t have believed his wife actually plotted with others to harm him.
"Patrick..." Mrs. Clark didn’t say anything, completely ignoring Sophie’s words, just looking pitifully at Patrick as if he was the only one in her eyes.
Such an expression really easily stirs a man’s protective instincts, making them rush to protect her.
Whatever she says goes.
Sophie cursed under her breath, damn, that look is incredible.
Even she, as a woman, was about to be moved.
This must be a woman’s deadliest "weapon," right?
"Mrs. Clark, do you need something?" Patrick remained entirely unfazed, just calmly watching her.
Sophie was quite satisfied with Patrick’s response; that’s right.
Clearly, Mrs. Clark was quite unsatisfied with Patrick’s attitude, she sighed softly and said, "Patrick, are you still hung up on what happened back then?"
"I don’t care." Patrick’s lips slightly curved upwards as he said lightly, "I stopped caring a long time ago."
Mrs. Clark sighed softly, shaking her head slowly: "Patrick, if you don’t care, then why are you targeting my husband now?"
"Back then I chose him, but that’s because I followed my heart." Mrs. Clark said helplessly, "I couldn’t go against my feelings and stay with you, that would have been too unfair to you."
Damn!
Sophie cursed furiously in her heart.
This person is even more shameless than those few scoundrels she’s met!
Utterly shameless!
Patrick shook his head but smiled without saying a word.
Mrs. Clark sighed sorrowfully: "Patrick, the past is the past. Let’s stop this entanglement, okay?"
The commotion Mrs. Clark was causing had already attracted quite a few people in the restaurant, and most of them were showing anger on their faces, casting accusing glances at Patrick and them.
Damn!
Sophie took a sip of water, did they think she had no temper?
She downed the water, soothed her throat, slammed the glass on the table, and went full throttle: "Mrs. Clark, is it?"
"Following your feelings is obviously fine, but shouldn’t you respect the law a bit? Don’t make infidelity sound so noble!"
Sophie raised her voice sharply so everyone in the restaurant could hear clearly: "What, you’re hoping everyone ends up like you, married but still searching for true love, cheating with lovers while bankrupting their own husbands?"
"I’d like to see which man would be that great, which woman would be that virtuous, as to allow their partner to do such a thing!" Sophie said as she scanned the crowd in the restaurant.
