Rebirth: Clinging to My Possessive Magnate
Chapter 1444: Proud
Chapter 1444: Chapter 1444: Proud
Charles Seymour’s icy gaze fell on Adam Clark’s face, freezing him so hard he shuddered violently.
Adam Clark’s heart was now filled with nothing but bitter regret. Why on earth had he thought, back at the door, that Charles’s aura was just for show?
He was regretting it to death now!
Charles’s eyes were so cold that Adam’s heart wouldn’t stop trembling, especially when he realized that after he finished speaking, Charles’s gaze didn’t soften in the slightest, which made him even more panicked.
What on earth did Charles Seymour mean by this?
He’d already flattered him so much, so why still not pleased?
Forget being pleased, there wasn’t even the slightest hint of easing up. What exactly was he supposed to do?
Daniel Clark actually understood how Charles felt about Sophie Wilson. Seeing Adam Clark talk more and more out of line, he could only open his mouth to smooth things over.
Adam Clark could refuse to cooperate with Charles, but they still had cooperation with Peace Group. They couldn’t let the Elder Clark family ruin their Imperial City Clark Corporation business.
"Mr. Seymour really is living off his wife," Daniel Clark said.
Adam Clark stared at his cousin in shock. Had his cousin gone insane?
To say right in front of Charles Seymour that he was living off a woman—and wasn’t Charles the chairman of Peace Group?
Would he even need to live off anyone?
Daniel Clark said hoarsely, "Mr. Seymour gave everything he had to his own wife. So now, every penny he earns belongs to Mrs. Seymour. That means Mr. Seymour has been living off his wife this whole time."
"Mm, my wife likes keeping me," Charles finally spoke. The淡淡 words held an unconcealed smugness.
Adam and the others stared speechlessly at Charles, really wanting to roar: What the hell are you so proud of about being a kept man?
Of course, common sense told them that was something they absolutely could not shout out loud, so they could only pretend they hadn’t heard anything.
As for Daniel Clark, he quietly turned his head away, unable to bear watching.
Sure enough, Charles’s show-offy PDA and smugness were more than most people could handle.
Showing off in the Imperial City wasn’t enough; he had to flaunt it wherever he went. How utterly deranged was that?
"Mr. Seymour, I didn’t know it was you," Daniel Clark said with a helpless, bitter smile.
"You came to mediate?" Charles asked.
"Of course not." Daniel shook his head with a smile. "I’m not the type to throw my weight around."
"Mm." Charles believed what Daniel said. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have chosen the Clark Family as a partner in the first place.
"Mr. Seymour, I’ll take care of the rest," Daniel Clark said quickly.
Charles nodded in satisfaction. As long as they didn’t disturb him and Sophie, everything was fine.
After getting Charles’s approval, Daniel hurriedly led Adam and the others away.
Once the room quieted down again, Sophie Wilson let out a faint sigh. "I thought there’d be something fun. Turns out the Clark Family’s trump card is just Daniel Clark."
"So the Chamberlain Family was counting on Adam and the others, Adam and the others were counting on Daniel, and Daniel’s family still has a cooperation with our family." Sophie honestly had no idea what to say anymore.
"What are we having for lunch?" Charles asked, completely unfazed by what had just happened.
Nothing in this world was more important than his wife’s lunch.
"You decide." Sophie smiled and leaned into Charles’s arms. She wasn’t going to give any input anyway. He could always find somewhere good to eat; he knew her taste extraordinarily well.
