Chapter 1445: Exhausted in Heart and Mind
Chapter 1445: Chapter 1445: Exhausted in Heart and Mind
"Mm." Charles Seymour, naturally aware, picked up Sophie Wilson and said, "Come on, let’s change clothes and check out the specialty shops."
This way, she can walk off her meal and it won’t delay lunch either.
"Sure, sure." Sophie Wilson nodded, wrapping her arm around Charles Seymour’s neck, and asked, "Uncle Grant may not know if he’s going."
"He’s got his own plans." Charles Seymour didn’t even think before speaking, "He’s got a business discussion with the gemstone market, don’t go meddling."
"The way you said it, you make it sound like I’d be a nuisance. I’m the owner of the Pearl Jewelries, remember." Sophie Wilson pouted at Charles Seymour, feeling underestimated.
"The boss who never manages anything?" Charles Seymour unceremoniously exposed Sophie Wilson’s "true nature."
Sophie Wilson puffed her lips and then, with a snicker, bit Charles Seymour’s arm deeply—not hard, but just playfully.
Charles Seymour’s eyes flashed with indulgent amusement: "Several of the specialty shops are quite interesting; you’ll like them once you’re there."
"Really?" Sophie Wilson immediately had her attention successfully diverted by Charles Seymour. "Then I’ll go change quickly."
Sophie Wilson didn’t take the previous incident to heart, but Adam Clark and Way Chamberlain couldn’t just disregard it.
"I have something to tell you." Daniel Clark finished speaking and walked toward the hotel’s parking lot.
Adam Clark took a deep breath and said directly without looking to the side, "Brother Way, Dylan, you guys head back first. I need to discuss something with Cousin."
"Brother, I..." Dylan Clark was beginning to feel uneasy, as if something bad was about to happen.
Adam Clark didn’t say anything more to them and quickly followed. He couldn’t afford to focus on anything else right now.
He was currently worried about the Clark family’s affairs.
Luckily, Daniel Clark, although he had already gotten into his car in the parking lot, waited for Adam Clark.
"Cousin." Adam Clark got into the car and called out with a smile.
"Drive." Daniel Clark ignored him, giving the driver instructions and sitting in silence.
Adam Clark didn’t dare add anything, but could only feel increasingly anxious inside.
Way Chamberlain hurried back to the Chamberlain Family, explaining the situation, and Old Mr. Chamberlain nearly exploded: "That person is the director of the Peace Group?"
"Yes." Way Chamberlain nodded reluctantly.
He didn’t want to admit it, but avoiding acknowledgment didn’t change anything.
"Let it be; wait for news from Elder Clark." Old Mr. Chamberlain weakly waved his hand. At this point, they had no other options and had to rely on Elder Clark.
But when it came to the future, they were all feeling quite pessimistic.
Elder Clark and the others depended on the Imperial City’s Clark Family, which relied on the Peace Group. Unfortunately, the person they had offended was indeed the director of the Peace Group.
This matter really expended the Chamberlain Family’s mental energy.
Fortunately, the final result did not keep the Chamberlain Family and Clark Family waiting too long.
Adam Clark returned to the Clark Family, and Elder Clark had already learned about Charles Seymour’s identity from Dylan Clark. As soon as he saw Adam return, he promptly looked over.
Adam Clark shook his head, unable to muster even a bitter smile.
"Brother, it’s not really our fault; how could we know he was the director of the Peace Group?" Dylan Clark started speaking, only to be immediately reprimanded by Elder Clark, "Shut up!"
