Rebirth: I have Monopoly System
Chapter 462 - 391: So Basically, You Just Like Older, Married Women, Right?
Wu Yun handed the search results to Bai Yue, whose jaw promptly dropped. She didn’t usually follow current events, but seeing a few familiar names at the top of the list, she figured being ranked among them had to be an incredible achievement.
Then, Yu Min told Wu Yun about his maternal grandmother, Zhang Zhihong, who was retired and living at home.
"And what about my uncle?" Since Yu Min only had one brother, who was just two years her senior, Wu Yun didn’t need to be more specific.
Just then, her secretary, Xiaoliu, came in carrying two cups.
Yu Min took the glass of water from Xiaoliu. Seeing that Bai Yue was a little tense, she said to her, "Yueyue! Come on, have some water! Just relax and make yourself at home here. No one would dare say anything to you—not even the guy next to you!"
Wu Yun was speechless at this, but Bai Yue covered her mouth and chuckled. "Don’t worry, Auntie! If there’s anything, I’ll be sure to tell you!"
"Mom! You still haven’t told me about my uncle!"
Thinking of her older brother, Yu Min couldn’t help but rub her forehead. "Your uncle, Yu Bo, used to be a bit of a rebel. He felt your maternal grandfather was too strict, so he ran off to another part of the country. Now, he’s the top official in Jiangcheng. He only comes back once a year for the holidays, but because of you, his whole family will be here tonight."
Hearing the name Jiangcheng, Bai Yue immediately thought of Bai Jun, but it was just a fleeting thought, and she said nothing.
"Your aunt, Tian Meiqin, is from Hu Province. She’s a teacher and a very kind woman. She comes from a scholarly family, so she’s well-read and very sensible."
"As for your older cousin, Yu Xiao, he’ll be starting his senior year at Southwestern University of Finance and Economics this fall. I’m not sure if he’ll be back tonight."
"You also have a younger cousin, Yu Lu. She’s only a few months younger than you and will be a sophomore at Hu Province University next semester."
...
At the dinner gathering that evening, everyone had arrived, including Wu Yun’s paternal grandfather, Qian Guoliang.
At first, Wu Yun felt a bit constrained. After all, he was in the presence of some serious heavyweights, even if they were his grandfathers.
Fortunately, after a few drinks, the atmosphere grew more relaxed as everyone made a point to ask Wu Yun how he was doing.
Yu Lu pulled Bai Yue aside, and the two began whispering to each other.
Yu Xiao slung an arm around Wu Yun’s shoulder. "I can’t believe a nationally famous tycoon is my younger cousin! HA HA HA! Cousin, I go to school in Rongcheng, too! We should hang out more often!"
Yu Xiao glanced at the others, who were deep in conversation and not paying them any mind. He leaned in and whispered in Wu Yun’s ear, "Bro, I’ve only got one year of freedom left! After that, it’s off to dedicate my life to building our great nation!"
"I actually follow you pretty closely!" Yu Xiao added, glancing around again. "And based on my analysis, I’d say you have more than one girlfriend, don’t you, cousin?"
Yu Xiao watched Wu Yun’s face for a reaction, but he was surprised to see his cousin’s expression remain unchanged as he freely admitted it.
Since Wu Yun was being so open, Yu Xiao said a bit sheepishly, "You can’t tell anyone about this, okay? It’s the first time I’m telling anyone. The money my dad gives me is just enough for living expenses and small stuff. I have to tighten my belt just to afford going on dates! If our aunt didn’t slip me some spending money now and then, I don’t know how I’d survive!"
"You’ll probably laugh, but I really want to experience that lavish, extravagant lifestyle. My dad, though, has always preached about being frugal and thrifty."
"You know the path I’m destined for. If I try that stuff later, it’ll just become blackmail material for someone to use against me. That’s why I want to experience it now, while I’m still a nobody!"
"I can’t exactly tell our aunt about this, but you’re here! You can show me the ropes!"
Wu Yun understood what Yu Xiao was getting at. He smiled and said, "No problem. I’m heading back to Rongcheng tonight. I’ll take you out and show you a good time."
....
The dinner lasted nearly two hours. As they were saying their goodbyes, Yu Sheng clapped Wu Yun on the shoulder. "Keep up the good work, and stay on the right path. Even without my help, you have a limitless future ahead of you."
"You were already on the radar of us old-timers! I just never expected you, little guy, to actually be my own grandson!" At this, Yu Sheng roared with laughter. "Excellent! Excellent! If you ever run into any trouble you can’t handle, you must tell your grandpa!"
"Old Yu, you’re not putting that right!" Qian Guoliang chimed in, laughing. "You should say if he has any trouble, he has to come find *both* of us old-timers! HA HA HA!"
Then, Yu Sheng patted Bai Yue’s shoulder and offered her a few words of encouragement.
Standing outside the private restaurant, Yu Bo waited until the two elders had finished talking to Wu Yun before smiling and saying, "Xiaoyun, you need to support your uncle’s work in the future! Hurry up and come invest in Jiangcheng! Your Little Red Cars, for example! Send more of them our way!"
"No problem, Uncle! I actually have a few ideas I’ve been wanting to implement. I’ll come to Jiangcheng to visit you in person when the time comes."
"Great! I’ll roll out the red carpet for you!"
Wu Yun smiled. "Uncle, I think we’ll have to call it a night. I have a very important meeting at my company tomorrow, so I have to get back to Rongcheng tonight. It works out perfectly, since my cousin Yu Xiao can fly back with me and avoid waiting for a red-eye flight."
His aunt, Tian Meiqin, who was standing nearby, said gently, "Xiaoyun, we’ll have to trouble you to take Yu Xiao to Rongcheng, then. Once you’re there, he can just grab a cab back to his university."
"Auntie, it’s no trouble at all! Since my cousin Yu Xiao is studying in Rongcheng, we should be seeing more of each other anyway."
After saying goodbye to the three elders, Wu Yun finally got into the car with Yu Xiao. As for Bai Yue, Wu Yun had already arranged for someone else to drive her home.
Watching Wu Yun’s motorcade drive off, Yu Bo turned to Yu Min with a smile. "Little sister! Looks like your group has found its successor. Xiaoyun is more than capable of handling your group’s Management."
Yu Min pursed her lips. "Brother, are you really that eager for me to retire?"
...
Standing by the boarding stairs, Yu Xiao said wistfully, "It must be so nice to have your own plane. I’ve flown on our aunt’s before, but that was just a one-time thing. I’ll never be able to own a private jet."
Wu Yun patted Yu Xiao’s shoulder. "You win some, you lose some. Try to look at the bright side. Come on, let’s get on board. We can talk more on the plane."
Settled into a plush seat on the plane, with no one else around, Yu Xiao waited for the flight attendant to leave before relaxing a bit. "Cousin," he began, "I heard you talking about your relationship history in the car earlier. You seem to have some real insight. I was hoping I could ask you for some advice."
Wu Yun nodded. "It’s not about asking for advice. Let’s just call it a friendly chat."
Yu Xiao hesitated for a moment. "Tell me, why are girls so pragmatic these days? There are so many beautiful women at Xica. I’ve confessed my feelings to a few I liked, but I always get friend-zoned. They either give me the ’you’re a nice guy’ speech or tell me to focus on my studies and talk about it after graduation. I just don’t get it."
Wu Yun looked his cousin up and down, his stare so intense it made Yu Xiao’s skin crawl. Finally, he spoke. "To attract women, you need at least one outstanding quality."
"You’ve either gotta be handsome, rich, or have some special talent."
"Cousin, you’re always so low-key. If they don’t get to know you over a long period, the chances of them saying yes when you confess are pretty slim. Don’t tell me you’re still a virgin?" Wu Yun asked, his expression one of mock surprise.
"No way!" Yu Xiao said, indignant. "I lost my virginity my freshman year! And I do have special talents. I can play the guitar and sing, for instance!"
"Oh?" Wu Yun’s interest was piqued. "Well then, tell me your relationship history. I’ll help you analyze it."
Yu Xiao looked a little embarrassed. "Okay, so... freshman year, I’d met an upperclassman on the school forums. She offered to show me around campus, so I decided to go register at the university by myself."
"Later on, one thing led to another, and it just happened naturally. I lost my virginity to that gentle senior."
"I thought my love life was finally starting, but I never expected my first romance to end so soon after it began. She was graduating and had to go back home, so we gradually lost touch."
"Ever since then, I haven’t been interested in girls my own age. I prefer older women. I just feel like women who are a few years older are more mature and understanding."
"But as you know, I don’t get many chances to meet women who are a few years older than me. And even when I do, it’s just friendly chats."
Yu Xiao’s expression turned sheepish again. "You might laugh, but the women I confessed to... they were either graduate students or teachers at the university."
At this, Wu Yun’s eyes went wide. He gave Yu Xiao another long look, up and down, before saying slowly, "So, to sum it up, you just have a thing for young, married women, right?"
