Today, to welcome the four brothers, the two sisters-in-law worked hard all morning.

The food was served, with two tables set up. Jing Chu and Li Xue sat at one table with five children, while the remaining six men sat at the other.

It was a rare gathering, so Guodong brought out the wine he had brought.

The four young men usually weren’t allowed to drink, but this time, each of them poured a small glass.

After drinking, the four brothers didn’t ask for more. For Guodong and Chaoyang, wine wasn’t a big deal, so it was just to liven up the atmosphere.

After dinner, everyone sat together to drink tea, while the children went to the yard to play.

Although Ruoxuan was a girl, she knew and could play all the games the boys did.

Chaoyang asked about the family situation, finding out that the older sister-in-law’s notice hadn’t arrived yet. But since the grandfather had already been confirmed, there wasn’t much to worry about.

Cheng Lin talked about the situation at the fourth uncle’s house, which left the brothers unsure of what to say.

This generation in both families lived outside, only the fourth uncle’s brothers stayed in their hometown.

“Second brother, actually Shuxin and Shu Wen really envy us.”

Chaoyang sighed, “What’s the use of envying us? It was their own choice not to learn back then.”

“Exactly? Now the two of them really regret it. They think that they should have learned with Shuzhi back then.

By the way, Shuzhi got married in the city, becoming a live-in son-in-law. They say the woman is particularly formidable.”

“Getting married is good.”

“What’s so good about it? His marriage was told to us by villagers returning here. The family didn’t even know about it.” Cheng Lin truly disdained Shuzhi.

Actually, not just him, but the other brothers also looked down on the fourth uncle’s family.

But that was an issue for the elders, and they wouldn’t get involved.

By one o’clock, Guodong invited them to take a bath.

Li Xue and Jing Chu wouldn’t go, as they really weren’t used to being naked in front of so many people, so they’d never gone out to bathe.

Ruoxuan stayed to accompany them. The three of them took a nap.

It was two hours later before they returned, mainly because they waited for the four youngsters’ hair to dry before coming back, to prevent them from getting sick.

In the afternoon, Guodong and Chaoyang took the four of them to tidy up the next room. They wanted them to rest, as they were quite tired after such a long train ride.

But the four young men were full of energy and didn’t rest; instead, they played with the children.

Early the next morning, they all went to the Wei Family.

Yang Run Tai also came today. He really didn’t know that the four college students from Li Family Village were here. This meant no social engagements today, so he came early.

They arrived at the same time, meeting at the doorway.

Yang Run Tai, having spent some time in Li Family Village, was happy to see them and greeted them warmly.

At that moment, they were accompanying Shang Zhenkun, who was now old and physically declining. So Shi Jing and the others spent a lot of time with Shang Zhenkun.

Upon hearing the commotion outside, Shi Jing went out.

Laughing joyfully, he said, “All brothers, in my childhood, I often followed them around to play, and we have great affection for each other.”

Knowing they arrived yesterday, he expected them to visit today.

Wei Kaiyun and Jiang Xinyu also came out of the room.

Red Army excitedly ran up to Wei Kaiyun, “Master Wei, I’m here. I’ve come to see you.”

Wei Kaiyun calmly patted Red Army’s shoulder. “Very good.”

Receiving these words of praise from Wei Kaiyun was more exciting for Red Army than any other compliment.

From the time he arrived at Li Family Village, watching Chaoyang and Xiang Dong study with Wei Kaiyun, he was genuinely envious, always hoping for such a day himself.

Having truly achieved his dream, Red Army believed that without the challenges from back then, he couldn’t have achieved such results.

Jiang Xinyu praised Cheng Lin and the other three too.

Everyone went into the living room.

Wei Kaiyun went to the inner room and returned with four boxes, handing each of them one.

“These are rewards for you four, all of them. There’s a letter engraved at the back of the watch face with your names to avoid mixing them up.”

Excitedly, Cheng Lin opened the box, grinning broadly. “Thank you, Master Wei, thank you, Teacher Jiang.” This watch was much better than the one he had his eye on.

The other three brothers opened their boxes too, and all four immediately wore them on their wrists.

Yang Run Tai was beside Feifei, smiling broadly at the scene, feeling the joy within.

Shang Zhenkun looked on with a full smile, watching the children he had seen grow up achieve success. It was something unimaginable before.

Everyone listened to the four brothers talk about family affairs.

Having left Li Family Village for more than a year, it’s impossible not to miss it.

Hearing about the place, it felt particularly close.

Jiang Feifei teased Cheng Lin, “Brother Chenglin, your narrative skills are really lacking, you should make it more vivid to make us enjoy listening.”

“Haha, Feifei, I will learn to tell stories in the future, and tell them to you.”

“Really, that would be great. By the way, no hurry on the older sister-in-law’s side?”

“Older sister-in-law called her grandfather, and it’s already been confirmed. So there’s nothing to worry about.”

“That’s good, I didn’t expect older sister-in-law to have those sentiments, as both of the Tao Family’s siblings chose politics.”

“Haha, my older sister-in-law is truly genuine. If she had to engage in politics, she probably wouldn’t be able to handle it herself.”

“Feifei, congratulations! I didn’t expect over here we’d have a top scorer.” Hongling said with a laugh.

“You all care about this?” Feifei asked, also with a smile.

“Yeah, how could we not care? It’s a family pride.

You wouldn’t know, I told the leaders from the city’s education bureau that you’re from Li Family Village and informed them about your results; they looked regretful,” Red Army joined in the conversation with a laugh.

Only Changhe sat aside, listening and smiling.

“Changhe, are you going to visit Doctor Liu and Doctor Xie?”

“Yeah, my master gave me the address, I’ll head over tomorrow.”

“Okay, I’ll prepare some gifts for you to take.”

Changhe smiled, “Thank you, Teacher Jiang.” Originally, he planned to buy some snacks, but since Teacher Jiang prepared them, he wouldn’t need to worry.

By nearly noon, Old Yang and his family came over, completing the group.

The women were busy cooking in the kitchen, Zhao Xiaoli didn’t let Feifei enter the kitchen. “Our Feifei is not meant for this.”

Jiang Xinyu laughed, “You’re really straightforward.”

“I’m speaking the truth, our Feifei is destined to be served.”

“Haha, these days already, are you still saying this?”
