Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space
Chapter 1576: Choosing the Wrong Friends
Even though Wei Kaiyun was worried, he still listened to his wife. He sat down obediently and greeted the kids to eat.
He remembered suddenly. Isn’t this Han Xiangjun’s daughter? He shot a glare at the trouble-making Han Xiangjun.
This troublemaker, all the troubles are caused by him.
Han Xiangjun was glared at and gave an awkward smile.
The kids were also very curious about this child, but since their mom didn’t say anything, they could only wait curiously.
Feifei sped up her eating. She could be full with just a bowl of porridge.
Putting down her chopsticks, “I’m full, I’ll go switch with my mom to eat.”
Han Xiangjun felt even more embarrassed hearing Feifei’s words.
Wei Kaiyun snorted; his troubles were now a burden on his wife and daughter.
The family didn’t have the custom of staying silent during meals. Often, they talked about school matters during eating, and today was no exception. However, everyone ate faster. They were all waiting to know about this little child’s stuff.
After Feifei finished, Yang Run Tai also sped up his eating, he wouldn’t eat less in the Wei house, otherwise, he would be scolded.
The Wei Family took meals very seriously, and they didn’t allow overeating or undereating without reason.
Shi Xian sat next to Han Xiangjun. Seeing his father glare at Uncle Han, he wondered if the child was Uncle Han’s. The more he thought about it, the more likely it seemed.
So he would take a bite, then look at Han Xiangjun.
This made Han Xiangjun give him a light slap, which finally quieted him down.
Shang Zhenkun had already finished eating, and Yang Run Tai supported him to the side.
At this moment, Jiang Xinyu came out. Wei Kaiyun quickly stood up and served porridge for his wife again. He was helping out by picking up dishes.
“It’s alright, I’m full.” Jiang Xinyu also only needed a bowl of porridge for dinner. Wei Kaiyun was used to it by now.
Now the boys came over to clear the table.
Jiang Xinyu and the other two moved to sit near Shang Zhenkun. She whispered to Han Xiangjun, “You say it yourself, I’m afraid if I say it, you will lose face.”
Han Xiangjun nodded, “I still don’t know what Jianbin thinks.”
“Jianbin is grown up now; he won’t have any trouble understanding.”
“Xiao Wei, the child will be raised by you.”
Wei Kaiyun looked at his friend in shock. How could he be so thick-skinned?
“That’s your child.”
“I can’t raise it. It’s yours now.”
Wei Kaiyun glared at Han Xiangjun, wanting to end their friendship right away.
“Xiao Jiang, please take care of the child. I really don’t know how to raise it, and besides, I can’t bring myself to like her.”
Jiang Xinyu looked speechlessly at Han Xiangjun. A woman shouldn’t even talk about this with a man.
“No way, you’ll have to find someone else to raise her.”
“How can that be? Even though I don’t have feelings for this child, she’s still mine, right? I can’t expect her to have a great future, but at least she should be decent and not like her mother. Otherwise, I’d have no place to cry. Xiao Jiang, I’ll find a nanny to help you.”
Jiang Xinyu shook her head; one nanny in the house was enough. Besides, the kids in the house were all capable. There was no need.
It’s just that the responsibility of raising a child is too big.
“Old Han, I’m afraid I can’t teach her well.”
“Didn’t you teach Feifei and Tingting well? Just keep an eye on her and teach her. If she’s not good, it’s because of bad genes, not your fault.”
Listening to his frank words, Jiang Xinyu didn’t know how to respond.
Wei Kaiyun sat at the side, angry.
Yang Run Tai listened very clearly, thinking, wow, Jianbin has gotten a little sister?
By now, the dining room was cleaned up. All the family members gathered around, curiously looking at Jiang Xinyu.
Han Xiangjun coughed, “That little girl is Jianbin’s half-sister. She’ll live here from now on.”
Wow, after Han Xiangjun said that, the children’s eyes all focused on him, even with his thick skin, he couldn’t handle it.
Jianbin hesitated for a moment, but he was more surprised than unhappy.
He’s already a nineteen-year-old young man and understands men too.
His dad has been single for so many years, and something like this happening isn’t completely unacceptable.
Han Xiangjun had been carefully watching Jianbin and didn’t sense any bad emotions from his son, only then did he feel relieved.
In truth, what worried him most was Jianbin’s acceptance, but the child was already born. In this situation, it wasn’t possible to let that woman raise her, so he could only bring her back.
“Uncle Han, this little sister of mine sure is tiny,” Shi Xian joked.
“You’ll be responsible for taking care of her from now on.”
Shi Xian hurriedly waved his hands, “Uncle Han, please spare me. When she’s older, I’ll take her out to play, but I’m not daring enough now.”
“Look at your lack of guts.”
The kids now knew that this little girl was going to live with them.
“Dad, what’s the little sister’s name?” Jianbin asked.
Han Xiangjun looked at his son, “Jianbin, I’m very sorry.”
“Dad, what are you saying? I understand you. You should quickly give little sister a name. We also need to register her, right?”
“How should I know? Xiao Jiang, I’ll let you handle the naming.”
Wei Kaiyun gritted his teeth on the side. This guy was shameless.
Jiang Xinyu thought for a moment, “How about calling her Han Shishi? Like the ‘poem’ in classic poetry.”
Nobody would have any objections, so the little girl would be called Han Shishi from now on.
Feifei also came out at this time. Yang Run Tai quickly stood up to let her sit, “Feifei, do you want to eat something?”
Feifei shook her head, “I don’t eat snacks at night.”
“Feifei, the little sister’s name is Han Shishi.”
“That’s fine, with a nickname Shishi.”
Wei Kaiyun suddenly stood up, glaring at Yang Run Tai, then looking at Han Xiangjun, “Let’s go to the study.”
Han Xiangjun stood up smiling. The two of them left.
The children knew, from now on, there would be words they weren’t allowed to hear.
Zhou Wenping also came over, supporting Shang Zhenkun to go rest.
“Mom, is that little girl really going to live in our house from now on?” Tingting asked.
“Yes, your Uncle Han already said so.”
Tingting felt a little downhearted. She used to be the youngest in the family, and now there was someone even younger. Would mom not like her anymore?
How could Jiang Xinyu not notice her little feelings? Though she didn’t say anything to comfort her; this was something Tingting had to figure out herself.
“Sis, has the little girl gone to sleep?” Shi Xian asked.
“Yes, the child gets easily agitated and won’t sleep if there’s noise.”
“So should we keep our voices down?”
Jiang Xinyu told the kids then went back to her room. Shi Xian was already eleven, and it had been many years since she took care of such a young child. She would really need to adapt for a while.
In the study, Wei Kaiyun and Han Xiangjun sat facing each other.
“Xinyu’s health isn’t great right now.”
“Xiao Wei, I really have no choice. This child can’t be raised by others. If she’s raised poorly, it will cause big trouble in the future.”
