Chapter 1556: Chapter 1556: Courtyard Life (8)

After watching for less than two minutes, the sound of the door opening was heard. Jiang Xue knew Mu Qiancheng was back, so she put down the book and stood up.

Sure enough, the door was pushed open, and Mu Qiancheng walked in holding a lunchbox.

"You’re up!" Mu Qiancheng greeted Jiang Xue with a smile when he saw her standing at the door, then put the breakfast on the dining table.

"Where’s our son?" Mu Qiancheng didn’t see Little Reunion and asked with a smile, "Still asleep?"

"Yes, he’s sleeping soundly." Jiang Xue smiled, then walked to the dining table to check the breakfast Mu Qiancheng brought back. There were buns, steamed buns, porridge, and some side dishes.

"Let’s eat first, just leave a couple for our son later." Mu Qiancheng said as he handed a bun to Jiang Xue.

Jiang Xue took the bun and started eating. As she was eating, she heard Little Reunion waking up, so she put down the bun and went into the room.

Little Reunion was indeed awake, looking around with his eyes wide open. When he saw Jiang Xue come in, he smiled widely.

Jiang Xue went forward, picked up their son, changed his clothes, then took him for a bath. Afterwards, she held him and sat in the chair for breakfast.

Little Reunion particularly liked buns, so he was very happy when he saw the large buns on the table. He picked one up, held it with both hands, and started to nibble on it.

Jiang Xue and Mu Qiancheng watched him eat with delight and laughed.

After breakfast, Mu Qiancheng didn’t stay long and went off to work. Jiang Xue washed the dishes and waited for Sister-in-law Wang to go to the market with her.

It wasn’t long before Sister-in-law Wang arrived, and they headed to the market they had visited yesterday. On their way downstairs, they met other military wives. Sister-in-law Wang introduced Jiang Xue to everyone and introduced each of the military wives to Jiang Xue.

Being the first meeting, everyone didn’t say much. After exchanging a few polite words, they headed to the market together. Wang Ke, because Jiang Xue gave him meat yesterday, was particularly close to her. Being a few years older than Little Reunion, he took the initiative to take care of Little Reunion.

Whenever Jiang Xue wanted to buy vegetables, he would hold Little Reunion’s hand and stand to the side.

There weren’t many people selling things at the market, only a few selling vegetables. The fruit sellers were even fewer. After Jiang Xue walked around the entire market, she only found one fruit store.

Seeing Wang Ke helping to take care of Little Reunion, Jiang Xue planned to buy a few pounds of fruit to take back. Unexpectedly, Sister-in-law Wang, upon seeing Jiang Xue about to buy fruit, immediately pulled her and said, "The fruit there isn’t good, it has been kept too long. If you really want to buy, come with me; I know where there’s fruit for sale."

Listening to Sister-in-law Wang, Jiang Xue followed her without hesitation. The two turned a corner, exited the market, and headed to a main road.

After walking a short distance, they saw someone selling fruit by the roadside. Here, Sister-in-law Wang told Jiang Xue, "These fruits are grown by the villagers themselves, not only fresh but also cheap. If you want to buy fruit next time, come here."

"Okay, I got it, thank you, sister-in-law!" Jiang Xue thanked Sister-in-law Wang, then walked towards the farmer selling the fruit.

Upon closer inspection, they were indeed cheaper than those at the previous fruit shop, although the appearance wasn’t as good. But since they were for personal consumption rather than gifts, it didn’t matter if they looked a bit less appealing.

Jiang Xue picked a few kilos and had the villager weigh them. She divided them into two bags and gave one half to Sister-in-law Wang.
