Rebirth of the Fashion Queen
Chapter 88 Cohabitation
In the study, Grandpa Shen and Shen Zhining had a private conversation.
Grandpa Shen said, "She's just a little girl, how could you do that?"
Shen Zhining replied, "I can wait."
Grandpa Shen said, "If you're just playing around, I advise you to end it now. Don't toy with her feelings; it'll only lead to someone's death.
" Shen Zhining retorted, "Wouldn't it be better if someone died? Don't you just want a great-grandchild?"
Grandpa Shen: ...
With Grandpa Shen's shrewdness, how could he not see that Shen Zhining was misinterpreting his words? If he had a cane, he would have already struck her. Seeing his grandson, who remained unmoved, the old man, still unwilling to give up, earnestly advised, "Zhining, Grandpa isn't one to snob, but if it's about finding a marriage partner, the future mother of my children must be outstanding enough for my little grandson to be even more intelligent. Putting aside everything else, you at least need to find someone of equal social standing, so your relationship will be stable."
"Are you and Grandma of equal social standing?" Shen Zhining simply retorted.
The old man was speechless again. When he and Andy were together, he was still a poor young man working for others, and Andy even abandoned her original surname to be with him. Yes, Andy's original surname wasn't Freyline; Freyline was just the middle part of her name, and also her maiden name.
"How can you compare me to your grandmother? Your grandmother and I have crossed the boundaries of poverty and wealth, the boundaries of race, the boundaries of country and ethnicity. We are true love! True love!" The old man tapped the table, emphasizing the rather popular word "true love."
"You two have crossed such a line and you're still together, what are you worried about me for?" Shen Zhining said with a hint of sarcasm.
Oh dear, this is infuriating! The old man felt that if he weren't so healthy, he would probably have fainted by now. "Fine, fine, you can leave!" The old man didn't want to talk anymore.
Shen Zhining nodded and got up to leave.
Watching his grandson's retreating figure, the old man sighed. His grandson was so much cuter when he was little. Ever since his son and daughter-in-law had their accidents, his grandson had shut himself off. He'd finally regained some energy with the help of his old friend's granddaughter, but somehow he'd grown into this.
"I want to stay in this room, make her move out!" Daisy pointed to Sheng Jiaoyang's room and said to Philip.
"Why should I? I won't move!" Sheng Jiaoyang wasn't the type to be bullied. She
had originally come to tour the rooms, but Daisy saw that Sheng Jiaoyang's room was clearly meticulously decorated. Knowing that Shen Zhining had specially arranged it, she naturally wanted to stay, which led to this scene.
"Daisy, this is Jiaojiao's room. You should choose another room. If you like this style, you can have it decorated."
Daisy stood at the door, tears welling up in her eyes, feeling wronged. "Andy, even you're taking her side! I don't want another room, I want this one!"
"What happened?" Shen Zhining, who had just come down from the third floor, walked over.
"Daisy wants to stay in Jiaojiao's bedroom," Freylin replied.
Old Master Shen, who had followed her downstairs, heard Freylin's words and said without thinking, "It's just a bedroom, let Daisy stay there for a while."
Sheng Jiaoyang frowned. Grandpa Shen had always been so good to her. Besides, she was now nominally Shen Zhining's girlfriend. Even if it was just a bedroom, how could she just give it up like that?
"Philip, get everything ready," Shen Zhining instructed Philip.
"Yes, boss," Philip bowed slightly.
Daisy beamed with joy, her eyes sparkling. He was also on her side, which meant she still had a chance.
Flynn glanced worriedly at the expressionless Sheng Jiaoyang, then looked reproachfully at Old Master Shen. Why was she meddling in the young people's affairs?
"Boss, which room should Miss Xu's things be in?" Philip asked Shen Zhining.
Shen Zhining replied calmly, "My room."
Daisy: "..."
Old Master Shen: "..."
Flynn: "..."
Sheng Jiaoyang: "..."
Only ellipses could perfectly express everyone's feelings and thoughts at that moment.
"No, I don't want to stay in this room anymore," Daisy immediately changed her mind.
Sheng Jiaoyang breathed a sigh of relief; now she didn't have to move to Shen Zhining's room.
Philip looked at Shen Zhining questioningly, awaiting his instructions.
"Move," Shen Zhining uttered a single word.
Daisy was on the verge of tears.
Sheng Jiaoyang's feelings unexpectedly overlapped with Daisy's. She glanced at Shen Zhining again and again. Was this some serious trouble? How was she going to sleep tonight? She didn't want to sleep on the floor!
“Zhining, this girl isn’t an adult yet, you two can’t live together,” Old Master Shen said.
“There’s nothing wrong with that,” Shen Zhining glanced at Philip.
Philip, having received instructions, immediately sent someone to help with the things.
Sheng Jiaoyang walked to Shen Zhining’s side, reached out and tugged at his sleeve rolled up at his elbow, whispering, “Isn’t that unnecessary? She already said she doesn’t want to stay in my room.”
Shen Zhining turned and gave her a cold look, silently uttering two words: Shut up!
“I’m not going to bother with you anymore, Andy, let’s go for a walk on the beach,” Old Master Shen said, calling to his wife as they left.
Daisy snorted and angrily went downstairs as well.
"Don't be stubborn!" Sheng Jiaoyang scratched her hair, completely disregarding her hairstyle at this point; she was so conflicted she felt like she was going crazy.
"This isn't being stubborn, this is called solving the problem once and for all." Shen Zhining turned and went back upstairs to his study. Solving the
problem once and for all, my foot! Sheng Jiaoyang bared her teeth and claws at Shen Zhining's retreating back.
"Miss Xu, please move aside." Philip's voice rang out from the side.
Sheng Jiaoyang instantly reverted to her elegant demeanor; if one ignored the few strands of hair sticking up from her hair, her smiling face could indeed be described as elegant and dignified.
Soon it was lunchtime. With the old man arriving, he naturally took the head seat. Flynn sat to his right, and Sheng Jiaoyang was pulled by Shen Zhining to sit to the old man's left. This meant Daisy had to sit next to Flynn.
Watching the two people across from her pass their food around, Daisy felt like her teeth were about to break. She wasn't very good with chopsticks and wanted to maintain a good image, making this Chinese lunch a truly painful experience.
"Come on, darling, eat more!" Sheng Jiaoyang said with a beaming smile, placing a large mouthful of carrot shreds—something Shen Zhining disliked—into his bowl.
Even Grandpa Shen and Flynn might not know exactly what Shen Zhining disliked, but Sheng Jiaoyang knew perfectly well. When Shen Zhining was little, she'd been forced to eat raw carrots every day for half a month because she'd given him carrots—it was horrible!
With the elders around, she wanted to settle her score and vent her frustrations, not wanting to waste the dish she'd specially ordered from the kitchen.
"I'm full," Shen Zhining said, looking at the bowl of carrot shreds and silently putting down his chopsticks.
"Oh dear, how much have you eaten? Otherwise, you won't have the energy to do anything this afternoon!" Sheng Jiaoyang said.
"Yes, Aning, eat more. You've lost weight lately," Freylin said to Shen Zhining.
"Are you tired of eating?" Sheng Jiaoyang tilted her head to look at him. "Or I can feed you."
Tsk tsk, this young man just doesn't know his place. The old man glanced at Freylin, feeling a little uncomfortable. Even they, an old married couple, hadn't acted like this.
"No need, I have some business to attend to. You two eat first." Shen Zhining left the dining room.
Sheng Jiaoyang turned to look at the bowl piled high with carrot shreds next to her and secretly smiled.
