Chapter 2041 - 2043: Prime Minister Residence

Chapter 2041: Chapter 2043: Prime Minister Residence

A few days later, Xiaoxiao and Yang Ming embarked on their journey to Beijing; this time, they didn’t bring the children along.

It was still the time of autumn harvest; last year, one was in Stone Village, and the other was away, neither had helped the family with the harvest, and this year was no different.

But this year was different from last year; other family members were busy as well. The second brother and his wife were busy with the fish pond and Angling Garden, the elder brother and his wife were busy roasting hazelnuts, Yang Qiu was running between the workshop and the county, and Yang Dong was busy with Four Seasons Department Store.

Even though Yang Xia had returned, he had to care for the children.

Wang Kui was considered a new member of the family this year, but since Yang Ming left, the Escort Agency depended on him. The Escort Agency had its own affairs, and they couldn’t let its people help with the autumn harvest.

Old Yang made the final decision: hire people!

Although hiring people required spending Silver, it did pain Yang Ming’s mother somewhat, but with persuasion from the family, she agreed, as she was already wearing gold ornaments.

After spending a few days, they hurriedly arrived in Beijing.

During Yang Ming’s previous trip, the Xuntian Escort Agency had already established themselves in Beijing. Although it wasn’t large, it was a foothold.

So, when they arrived in Beijing, they weren’t entirely lost.

They first stayed a night at the Xuntian Escort Agency and found someone to check the address of Sima Prime Minister Residence.

Only then did they set off to visit the Sima Prime Minister Residence.

Beijing was even more prosperous than the Capital City, but Xiaoxiao was constantly preoccupied with the matter involving Xiaoyao, and she had no interest in wandering around.

The Sima Prime Minister’s residence was situated in the southern part of the city, considered a bustling area.

It’s said that this residence was bestowed by the old Emperor!

Covering a hundred acres, the vastness was evident!

Truly befitting the Emperor’s gift, from the outside, the red brick walls and the wooden cap decorated with patterned carvings extended all the way to the entrance, with lion head carvings at the front that resembled works of art.

The iron door painted red, even the door handles bore lion shapes.

It gave an impression of grandeur and solemnity.

The spacious area outside the main entrance was also significant, with three layers of steps before the street.

Since the main gate was tightly closed, there was no view of the interior, but it was certain that inside was exceptionally beautiful.

After all, Xiaoxiao and Yang Ming had never been to a place belonging to such an influential person.

The couple deliberately parked the carriage at a distance before walking towards and climbing the three steps to the entrance of the Prime Minister’s residence.

Yang Ming placed his hand on the door handle and used it to knock on the door a few times.

Before long, the door opened, and a figure that seemed like a house servant appeared.

"Who are you?"

Yang Ming spoke up, "Little brother, my spouse and I have something to discuss with the Prime Minister. Can you let him know about us?"

The house servant sized up Yang Ming and Xiaoxiao before asking, "And who might you be?"

At that moment, Xiaoxiao stepped forward and feigned a sobbing tone, "Little brother, my husband and I came from Shanshi County. We were once a wealthy family, but we encountered a tyrant, a local bully who seized our property and even abducted my sister-in-law, forcing us into desperation. We’ve traveled a great distance to seek the Prime Minister’s justice. Please, little brother, help us by announcing us, it’s hard for us to come here, with elderly and children awaiting the Prime Minister to punish that tyrant and restore justice for our family."

Xiaoxiao continued speaking, squeezing out a few drops of tears, appearing utterly pitiful.
