Chapter 1247: Ahead of schedule
Chapter 1247: Ahead of schedule
Arthur felt his sword heart move. For the first time in a long, long time. It’s as if seeing this place, seeing how Reborn had changed the lives of these hooligans had made him completely see things differently. And with his new perspective, his mind was starting to wonder about all kinds of things.
Sword moves, that before looked completely unfeasible, was now looking a little bit more doable. It’s as if a new world had opened up to him. A world where strength was not what determined justice. It’s the heart that dictated it.
All throughout his life, all he was told to do was become the Lionheart’s new pillar. Become part of the names that were recorded down in history as becoming the most proficient with the Way of the Sword.
But now, Arthur realized that that’s now what he wanted to do.
He didn’t know what his new purpose would be, but for the first time, that was okay. It was okay if he didn’t know what to do. He could just take it slow. Discover life as others would.
And emboldened by this new inspiration, Arthur wanted to immediately go back to his grandfather and request for him to be released from his promises.
"Kids, let’s go."
But it seemed that he was far too late. His younger cousins had gone on ahead and entered into the Cthuluhu rollercoaster while he was deep in his thoughts.
Arthur smiled. Perhaps, the change didn’t have to start with him. These kids didn’t have to feel the pressure that he had to. The weight that he had to bear. They could just be kids and enjoy life as it should be.
And so, he let them.
That was until he felt a large surge of Aubility Power emanate from inside the rollercoaster.
Arthur’s eyes widened. He looked atop the Cthulhu, seeing the ride exit out of the Leviathan’s body, containing the younger Lionheart kids, their faces filled with excitement.
But that’s not what surprised Arthur. It was the power emanating from them.
Aubility Power threads. Small, thin, and weak. But it was present. They had spooled out of the Lionheart youth’s heart, evidence of the fact that they had finally awakened into becoming a Maugnetic.
"That’s... that’s impossible!"
Arthur couldn’t believe what he was seeing. Above their heads, he saw the silhouettes of swordsmen, holding their swords.
That was the signature Divas of the Lionhearts!
But they were about a year too early. After all, these Lionheart youths had not yet experienced the hardships of training. They were not yet sent into the Order of the Heavenly’s Knights training regimen. They had not earned their scars.
That was how all Lionheart Maugnetics awakened their Divas. Through hardship. Through suffering. However, these kids were certainly not suffering. In fact, they were enjoying their time. Excited and joyful, the complete opposite emotions one should have in order to induce an awakening of a Diva.
Yet, the evidence was laid bare in front of Arthur. His younger cousins had awakened their Divas. Their sword hearts, apparently stimulated enough to increase their progression by multitudes of levels. Much more than what normal training would do.
He quickly realized this was not because of his cousin’s talent. This strange occurrence was not purely because of the Lionheart lineage.
After all, the other Rebornian youths had also awakened their Divas. And they were younger than his cousins.
This meant that this change was, with almost a hundred percent certainty, because of the rollercoaster that they rode on.
Then, he looked towards Jaku and the Rebornian attendant. There was no shock nor surprise on their faces. Just happiness.
"Finally, huh?"
They were expecting it. Arthur realized that this was how they were building up their Maugnetics. This was how they were able to have multiple 5th stage Maugnetics playing in their baseball game.
They had done something impossible. They had found the secret to stimulating the Maugnetic heart.
If anyone heard of this, the implications of it were tremendous.
People all over the globe would want to send their people here in Reborn, in the hopes that they could stimulate an awakening in their talented youths. Armies would send their men here to train. After all, this was the only place where progression was achieved without the need for sacrificing lives!
And as soon as he thought of this, he immediately remembered his family. His grandfather.
In an instant, he ran at full speed. Towards the center of Reborn. Towards their palace. Where the rest of the Lionhearts were currently talking with the leader of Reborn, talking with them, and issuing them a warning. A warning that they were about to be on the opposite sides of a war.
...
...
...
Michael faced a group of people. A family. The Lionhearts, which Sheina reminded him were the lineage infamous for producing talented swordsmen.
Are they here to talk about Eldea’s decision?
Of course, he knew about the Heavenly Swordmistress’ decision. She had offered Jaku the position of her student. He declined. She didn’t accept his declination.
And since Arthur looked to be primed to be one of her students, he guessed that they would want to talk to him about it.
But... if that’s just what they’re here for, then they wouldn’t have intruded here.
They were quite adamant that this meeting would take place today. They didn’t leave the front gates, no matter how much the Rebornians told them that their leader was away.
So, Michael had to appear here.
"I’m guessing that you aren’t here for a tour," Michael eventually said.
Caliburn, the lion-maned bearded man, assessed Michael. He was trying to reconcile the image of the Youngest Nascent Spirit cultivator to the youth he saw now.
Michael emanated strength. That much was clear. But youth was still shown on his face. No blemishes. No obvious signs of scarring. No way to show that he’d faced the horrors of war.
"That is right. I am here as a formal declaration of our allegiance. The Oscorpe conglomerate has tasked us with the mission of fighting their battles."
