Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family
Chapter 1472: Morningstar
Lucy’s hair looked completely disheveled. The pristine, white attire that he had been so proud of had now quickly turned bloody red.
It was at this point that even the four robed Mystic Masters looked at Lucy and urged him to stop.
"There is no need for this anymore, Lucy."
"The boy has proven himself capable."
"He can use Unity! That is way more valuable for the return of magic than anything else."
"Let us surrender."
Lucy looked back at them all. "Surrender? And do what? You all don’t seem to remember that me surrendering means that I have to step down as a Mystic Master!"
That was the contract between him and Michael.
"That cannot happen!" Lucy continued. "And I can already see that he has convinced you all. Therefore, I have to do everything myself."
It was at this point that Lucy raised his hand, conjuring a white Key from his hands.
And after seeing this, the four Mystic Masters’s eyes widened.
"How... How did you get that?!"
Michael looked at the white Key, and immediately knew what it was about thanks to the knowledge that he had gained from Sol.
That Key was actually an authority. Anyone who held that Key would hold full control over the Guild of Arcana and all of its structures.
Now usually, that Key would be stored in an unknown location that not even the Mystic Masters knew of.
During emergencies, Mystic Masters must use their collective powers in order to gather the fragments of the Key so that they could use it for themselves.
So, seeing that Key in Lucy’s hands was a complete surprise to the four Mystic Masters.
"You... you are all so fucking stupid," Lucy said. "You were all so paranoid, and so untrusting of even your own Mystic Masters that it became really easy to manipulate you all.
Getting the Key was easy. All I had to do was distract you all with a mundane goal, like destroying the Reborn company. And your hatred of Seberus had made you all blind of the fact that I had stolen the fragments of the Key in your hands."
It was at this point that Lucy began to take out the white robe from his body, revealing a tattoo in his chest, bearing the symbol of the Ersatz Organization.
"You!"
"You were Ersatz?!"
"Impossible!"
"We had brought you on since you were a kid! You were a prodigy in our ranks since before you learned how to learn magic!"
Lucy laughed. "What made you think that I wasn’t already a spy then? Ever since my birth, I was destined to become a spy for the Ersatz Organization. They had imprinted upon me my instruction in my womb!
I did not even know I was working for them until after I had ascended to become a Mystic Master. Once I had achieved that, they quickly activated me as a sleeper agent."
Then, Lucy turned to Michael. "And I wouldn’t have even done anything yet, if it weren’t for you! Now, you had forced my hand. Now, I shall use the entirety of the Guild of Arcana to destroy you."
With the Key in his hands, Lucy waved his hands.
And suddenly, the circular band structure revolving around Sol began to move at double its normal speed. Cannons began to emerge from the structures, before 9-star spells began to shoot towards Michael without stopping.
Meteors. Planets. Black holes. Mythical Creatures.
The entire repertoire of the Guild of Arcana shot towards Michael, with all of them having the ability to destroy a continent entirely!
And yet, facing these attacks, Michael simply looked up and raised a hand.
The prismatic magic circle behind him whirred into action, revolving and rotating to create different kinds of patterns.
Suddenly, a prismatic hand appeared in front of him. One that was larger than anything he had ever conjured.
The 9-star spells clashed with this giant hand, and in turn, they were all destroyed.
Unity had disintegrated these spells into nothingness. The destructive capabilities of these 9-star spells were nothing compared to the destructive capabilities of True Unity.
And with True Unity, Michael was not limited to simply using them as a beam of light.
He could create anything. Do anything. Construct anything. He could do magic.
Michael turned towards Lucy and grabbed at him in the air.
Suddenly, Lucy found his body constricted by something. He looked down, suddenly seeing a Unity Straightjacket locking down his hands from moving.
"ARGH!"
With the Key in his hands, Lucy borrowed the power of Sol, using its flares of flames fight against the Unity that was imprisoning him.
But Michael simply raised his hand. A pocket watch made out of Unity appeared in his palms.
He began to unwind the clock. And soon, time began to rewind here in this localized space.
Lucy found himself unable to fight against the whims of time. He watched his own body move backwards, up to the point where he used the Key to fight against the straightjacket.
He continued to reverse, even to the time when he had done his big speech, revealing his betrayal to the Mystic Masters.
Then, Michael stopped rewinding.
He gestured towards the Key in Lucy’s hands. And suddenly, a string of web much like that of a superhero, shot out of Michael’s wrist and landed on the Key.
With a tug, the Key left Lucy’s hands, just as his body returned its autonomy with time.
"Wha—"
Michael held the Key in his hands, before he threw it into Sol.
"NOOO!" Lucy screamed. He conjured a light magic circle, using up a 9-star magic spell.
A pillar of light descended from the skies, hitting Michael.
But Micharl conjured a flashlight in his hands made out of Unity. With a click, it began to shine a darkness all around him, fighting against the Light of Lucy’s magic.
Seeing his magic ineffective, Lucy gritted his teeth and summoned his Morningstar. He charged towards Michael at the speed of light.
But as soon as he did, Michael disappeared. In his hands were his Unity Saber, made out of pure Unity itself.
Lucy coughed up blood, as his body got dissected into nine different pieces.
