Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family
Chapter 1473: Approval
Michael took a deep breath as Lucy fell from the skies, down into the ground bloodied.
It was done. He looked at his own hands, amazed at his own power. True Unity. It was a power that allowed him to create anything and everything, just like true magic.
But unlike magic that most people were used to, this kind of magic wasn’t limited by the elemental mana. It was made out of Unity, just like every other thing in this universe.
Meaning, anything he created with Unity, was the same thing as the rocks on the ground, or the trees, or any other natural object around him.
Anything his imagination could think of, he could conjure up in the real world with his Unity.
And since it was made out of Unity, it could also retain the same destructive force that Unity was so famed for.
If Lucy was a Mystic Master of Light, if Seberus was a Mystic Master of Fire, if Lazarus was a Mystic Master of the Dead... then now, Michael was the Mystic Master of Unity.
He had achieved what they would call Arcanic magic. But his was different. It was added with Sword Intent and Aubility Power, making it a three-in-one power. A triforce, if you will.
He still wasn’t quite sure what this meant, what kind of power he could wield, but he knew that he was one step closer to returning to the standards of the Ancient Era.
Michael then looked around him, seeing that the entirety of the Guild of Arcana was looking at him.
The wizards and witches residing in the circular bands around Sol looked out of their windows, gazing at the emergence of a new Mystic Master. Instinctively, they knew that he had mastery over something in the world itself.
And because of that, they bowed towards him.
Michael nodded at them, acknowledging them. Then, he turned towards the four other robed Mystic Masters in front of him.
They had their heads down, not letting their faces show towards him.
And before he even said anything, they began to shout out their excuses for everything.
"We didn’t know. If we had known that you were truly able to wield Unity, then we would have immediately welcomed you in our arms."
"But now, we know. We have realized our mistake."
"We welcome you to the ranks of Mystic Master. You are now free to roam about the Guild of Arcana as if it was your own. You can go around the world bearing the name of a Mystic Master!"
Michael looked at all of them and said, "when I was a kid, I thought that a Mystic Master was this benevolent, mysterious figure. They’re someone who forgoes any kind of materialistic needs for the good of the mystic arts. But now, I realize that you, too, are not infallible to the whims of humanity.
Seberus had told you the truth. But in your bitterness against him, you held anything he said as a lie. And not only that, but you used that as an excuse to interfere against the Reborn company.
You say that you are doing all of this for the good of magic. For the good of returning magic to the world. But admit it. You were doing all of this as an excuse to retain your power as the leaders of the Guild of Arcana.
You are not fit to become Mystic Masters."
Hearing him say those words, the robed figures immediately looked up with indignation in their faces.
"How can you say that?!"
"We have sacrificed our entire lives for the good of the Guild!"
"Without us, the Guild would crumble under its own feet!"
Michael shook his head. "I shall take those crowns away from your heads."
"You can’t do that!"
"I know," Michael said. Then, he pointed behind him. "But they can."
It was at this point that four prismatic magic circles appeared around him. Then, figures began to emerge from each of the circles.
On the left, Seberus Augindore. The Mystic Master of Fire. His eyes were filled with flames as he looked upon the four robed Mystic Masters in front of him.
Next was Rivet, the Mystic Master of Metal. She smelled of oil and grime and metal.
Right after her was Lazarus, the Mystic Master of the Dead. He seemed distracted. But that was only because he was itching to return to his work back in the Nation of Reborn.
And the last was Aetrox. The Eagle-headed Mystic Master of the Skies.
All four of them were friends of Michael and allies of Reborn. They were the four Mystic Masters that had given their approval of him.
Michael had asked Alpha and Sheina to locate these Mystic Masters so that they could be informed of what was happening to him, and to help him.
Seberus then floated towards Michael with a proud look on his face. "I knew that you’d become a Mystic Master... but even still, I will defeat you in chess."
After that joke, Seberus raised his hand over Michael’s head. "I, Seberus Augindore, Mystic Master of the Flames, hereby nominate Michael Vanderbilt as the next Mystic Master of the Guild of Arcana."
As soon as he said those words, everyone turned towards Michael with looks of shock and surprise on their faces.
That was the first time they’d ever heard of Michael’s last name.
They would have never thought that he actually came from the Vanderbilt family!
"Vanderbilt..."
"No way... why have I not heard of this..."
After hearing those words from the robed Mystic Masters, Michael immediately spoke up. "And before you ask, I never asked for any help from my family."
Seberus laughed. "Even the Vanderbilts are not rich enough to help you do the things you’ve done, my boy."
Then, he turned back into a serious tone. "For my nomination to be accepted, half of the current Mystic Masters in existence must give their verbal agreement."
"I agree," said Rivet with a smile.
"Me too...," mumbled Lazarus.
"You have my approval," said Aetrox.
