Killing a chicken was a small matter for Fu Mingxue.

After all, she wasn’t some delicate princess who was afraid of getting her hands dirty.

Even if she hadn’t done it much in this life, she had done it plenty in her past life.

She took the chicken back to the yard.

After getting everything ready, she killed it straight away.

She stewed a pot of chicken soup.

Since Qin Wenhao wasn’t home,

she could use her space freely.

So, after eating half the chicken soup, she simply stored the other half in her space.

Everything she had bought at the market today was also placed into her space.

"Grandma, when is Mommy coming back?"

Qin Keke asked, trailing after Mrs. Fu.

The little one really missed her mommy.

Qin Hao did too—he was counting the days, but sadly, he still hadn’t seen his mommy come home.

’...?’

’What is with these two little ones?’

’Why do they have to ask every single day?’

Unfortunately, she didn’t know when their mother was coming back either.

"Soon. This month, probably."

Counting the days, it was indeed about time for her to return.

After all, her daughter had said her classes here would last a month.

"Really? Grandma, what day this month is she coming home?"

As the two little ones grew older, they had become quite clever.

’...?’

’How would I know which day she’s coming home?’

She gave another vague reply, "Very soon."

"How soon is ’very soon’? Grandma, is it tomorrow?" Qin Keke pressed.

Mrs. Fu’s head was starting to ache.

Just as she was about to answer, she suddenly heard a knock on the door.

Her eyes lit up, and she quickly said, "Someone’s knocking. Grandma will go see. You two go back inside and play!"

She walked out quickly.

When she opened the main gate and saw her daughter, Fu Mingxue, she froze.

"Mom, why are you just standing there stunned? It’s me! Your wonderful daughter is home."

Fu Mingxue put down her luggage and gave her mom a big hug.

"Mom, I missed you so, so much! Did you miss me?"

Mrs. Fu snapped back to her senses and quickly swatted Fu Mingxue.

"Let go, quickly, let go! What kind of behavior is this, hugging out in the open?"

Fu Mingxue let go, grinning cheekily. "I’m just hugging my own mother."

Mrs. Fu shot her a glare. "Why are you home today? Did you come back alone? Your son-in-law didn’t come back with you?"

"He’s away on a business trip." Fu Mingxue picked her luggage back up. "Mom, are you sure you want us to keep talking out here at the front gate?"

Mrs. Fu quickly took the luggage from her.

"Hurry inside. Hao Hao and Keke were just asking about you. Now that you’re back, they’re going to be ecstatic."

"Mommy!"

"Mommy!"

Two small, surprised voices cried out one after the other.

Fu Mingxue was overjoyed to see the two little ones running toward her.

"Oh, my babies! Mommy missed you so much!"

She bent down and scooped the two little ones into her arms.

The two children felt heavier than the last time she’d held them.

"Mommy, Keke missed Mommy too!"

Hearing his sister say that, Qin Hao quickly added, "Hao Hao missed you too."

Fu Mingxue beamed with joy.

She planted a big, loud smooch on each of their little cheeks.

Seeing the mother and her two children being so affectionate, Mrs. Fu was also very happy.

"Put them down. Go wash up first; you can hold them again in a bit."

As soon as the two children heard their grandma, they immediately tried to get down from their mother’s arms.

So Fu Mingxue set the two children on the ground.

"Alright. Mommy will talk to my babies in a little while."
