"Yes. Are you alright? Why didn’t you tell me about something so serious?"

"I’m perfectly fine, aren’t I? Besides, Captain Fang went to handle it. It wasn’t a huge deal, so I didn’t see the need to bother you with it."

Director Geng’s expression was grave. "How is it not a serious matter? Group Leader Fu, I have to say something about this. Your safety is no small thing."

She was a top-tier talent in engine research and development, not to mention the project leader.

She held a pivotal position that no one else could fill.

Without her, could this new project even continue its development?

Even if it could, it would be a huge waste of time.

"Alright, next time I’ll be sure to tell you first. Director Geng, if there’s nothing else, I’ll head back. We still have data to compare!"

After a moment’s thought, he added quickly, "Don’t ride your bicycle for the next few days. I’ll just assign a car to drive you. It’ll be safer and more convenient."

The moment she heard that, Fu Mingxue quickly refused. "Director Geng, that’s not necessary—"

But when Director Geng made a decision, he wouldn’t change his mind.

"It’s settled. For the time being, you’ll be chauffeured to and from work. We can discuss it again after this whole business with the two villages is resolved."

With that, he didn’t give Fu Mingxue another chance to refuse and simply turned and walked away.
