Chapter 717: Is There Any Law and Order?

It wasn’t just Director Geng who knew that Fu Mingxue had been ambushed.

Even Director Xie from the military quickly learned of the incident.

He was furious when he found out.

After all, if something happened to Fu Mingxue, how could he ever explain it to Qin Wenhao, who was currently away on a mission?

So, he went to the police station himself to understand the situation.

The police station: ...?

They hadn’t expected this case to be taken so seriously not only by the engine factory but by the military as well.

It truly astonished them.

Fortunately, the case was being handled by Old Song—one of Qin Wenhao’s former comrades—who had some idea of Fu Mingxue’s identity.

With backing from these two parties, Old Song became even more dedicated to the case.

「Li Village」

"What? Jiacai and Jialin were both arrested? How could they get arrested?" Father Li was furious.

That’s right, the two men who had been arrested were Father Li’s sons.

Father Li had a total of four sons. The youngest was a bit slow, and he had set his sights on Wang Lihong to find a diligent wife for this slow-witted youngest son.

Besides, Wang Lihong was an orphan, which made her easy to control.

Once they married Wang Lihong into the family, wouldn’t his slow-witted youngest son have someone to take care of him?

But he never expected that after the bride price was paid, the Wang family would come running over, saying the girl had run away—and that she’d been taken away by a soldier’s wife.

How could the Li Family let something like this slide?

What right did that soldier’s wife have to take away his family’s daughter-in-law?

So he sent his eldest and second sons to the military base to get the girl back from that woman.

In the end, not only did they fail to get the girl back, but someone came and informed him that both his sons had been thrown in the police station.

The messenger hastily explained, "Brothers Jialin and Jiacai went to corner that woman, but she called the police and had them arrested. Anyway, they’re both locked up in the police station now."

This made Father Li’s face turn ashen with rage.

’Even if that woman’s husband is in the military, she can’t just bully people with his power, can she?’

When Mrs. Li heard that her precious eldest and second sons had both been arrested, she grew frantic. "Old man, what are we going to do? You have to find a way to get our boys back!"

"I’m going to the police station right now to see what’s going on," Father Li said, storming out.

But before he could even leave the courtyard, his third son, Jiawang, ran in and stopped him.

"Dad, that bastard Wang Dacheng has screwed our Li Family over!"

Hearing this, Father Li’s face darkened. "Third son, tell me what happened."

"Wang Dacheng and his father are involved in a murder case in their Wang Family Village. They’ve both been arrested. Besides, that Wang Lihong ran away a long time ago. And even if she hadn’t, we can’t have a woman like that in our family. We need to tell big brother and second brother to come back and stop looking for her."

When Father Li heard his son’s words, his face turned ashen.

"That damn Wang Jiaceng! Getting into trouble and not even saying a word. They were trying to drag our Li Family down with them! This news came too late. Your big brother and second brother went to corner that woman, and now they’ve been arrested and thrown in the police station."

Li Jiawang was stunned to hear this.

"What did big brother and second brother do? They just went to ask for someone back. We were in the right! Even if she wouldn’t hand over Wang Lihong, she couldn’t just have them thrown in the police station, could she?"

"What’s the use of talking about all that now? Let’s hurry to the police station and see for ourselves."

When his father said this, Li Jiawang agreed.

So the father and son pair rushed to the police station.

When they arrived at the police station, they were met with terrible news.

Not only were his two sons locked up, but their legs had also been broken.
