"Don’t worry doctor we will take care of him." Old Madam Han was filled with delight when she heard that her son was doing better. She turned to look at her daughter in law and glared at her. If not for the fact that she could not ask anyone else to help her son, she would have never given a good look to Meng Yunhan.
Of course, Meng Yunhan was unwilling. She knew that with Han Yichen’s injuries, he would be having a hard time while using the bathroom and she did not want to be his support during such times. But when she saw her mother in law glaring at her, she did not dare to say a word. She could only lower her head and act submissive but in her mind, she was already planning a way to escape these dirty tasks.
Sure enough, she should have married Yun Xinye. That man was born with such good fortune; if she were married to him, then she would never be troubled in such a manner. However, even though she had a lot of thoughts in her mind, she did not say anything. Instead she smiled and nodded. "Of course, this is something that I should do as his wife."
Now that Han Yichen was out of the critical condition, and she no longer had to take a grand sum out of her pockets, Meng Yunhan had no qualm in acting like a virtuous daughter in law once again. She looked at the worker who had helped Han Yichen and said to him softly, "Little brother, thank you for helping us today. If not for all of you and the people at the farm, a mere woman like me would have no idea what to do today. It was all thanks to you all that my old Han was able to survive this ordeal."
The worker’s lips twitched as he shook his head. "Sister in law, it has nothing to do with us. It is all because Boss Han is lucky. He has a bunch of filial children who are willing to take care of him; if not for them, then I don’t know what might have happened. Even if we were around, if these kids had not run around, looking for connections, then I am afraid that the situation would not have been optimistic."
As soon as the worker finished speaking, Meng Yunhan could not help but blush red in embarrassment. Even Han Ziyan turned green in the face after she listened to the good things that the worker said.
The two of them knew that even if the worker was praising Han Yichen’s children, she was not included! Because while Han Ruochen and the rest were working their arses off, she was just casually sitting and waiting in the hospital, as if their family had some big shot behind them who could come and help them.
Han Ziyan was upset but there was nothing that she could say. After all, she had done nothing to help her father.
The worker did not think that he said anything wrong. After all, Han Ziyan had done nothing to help and even if she felt offended, she needed to suppress her emotions for the time being.
However, she had been spoiled by Meng Yunhan. Thus, even though she tried to hold her words back, she could not help but pull a long face. In her heart she looked down on workers like the one in front of her; they were just small workers whose livelihood depended on their family, and yet they had the audacity to call her out like this. They really did not know what was good for them.
Han Ruochen did not have the time to worry about Han Ziyan. She followed the nurses to the ward where they had secured a bed for her father. She had been running around for the entire day and her nerves had been long wound up; she was worried that she might end up missing something so she asked the doctors about her father’s condition again and again. Only when she was certain that her father was doing well was she able to breathe a sigh of relief.
She was not the only one, Old Madam Han and the rest also heaved a sigh of relief. Only they knew how they had spent the entire night while worrying about Han Yichen’s condition. If not for the fact that there was a life at stake, Old Madam Han would have never been able to hold on till now.
"Oh thank the heavens!" Old Madam Han clasped her hands together and almost kowtowed.
"Mom, don’t be too excited. If something happens to you, how will I explain it to my husband?" Second Aunt Han held onto her mother-in-law; she was worried that the old lady would end up fainting and immediately helped her up. They could not allow the old woman to collapse. Treating Han Yichen had already emptied the coffers of the first branch. If something happened to Old Madam Han, what would happen? They did not have so much money to treat two patients at the same time!
Old Madam Han waved her hand and said in a low voice, "I am fine, just tired."
However, as soon as she finished speaking, it was as if Meng Yunhan had been waiting for her. She immediately spoke up with a flattering smile. "Mom, how about you go and take a nap at home?" She turned to look at Han Ruochen and the rest and added, "You three too. You should go home and take some rest; you have been running around the entire time. You must be tired after working so much. Take some rest; I am here with Ziyan and I can take care of your father."
"That’s right, Old Madam. You need to rest; you have been tossing around for the entire night." The old worker nodded and agreed with Meng Yunhan. For the first time at night, he thought that Meng Yunhan was talking sense. If only he knew the truth!
