Chapter 371: Something Is Wrong (II)

Chapter 371: Something Is Wrong (II)

"Call the doctor, hurry up! I think there is something wrong with your father." Zhai Muchen took a look at the man on the bed and knew that there was something amiss. He had seen many cases where a person was close to breathing his last and Han Yichen resembled those comrades in arms who died after an hour or so.

As soon as he finished speaking, Han Ruochen jumped up. Han Xuehan glanced at her father and then hurried out of the ward with Han Ruochen in tow. The two sisters dashed straight to where Han Yong was discussing their father’s condition with the doctors.

"Brother, take the doctors to dad’s room. There is something wrong with him!" Han Ruochen cried, causing Han Yong to jump in fright but he still knew what was more important. He ushered the doctors to follow him to his father’s ward.

The doctors also sensed the urgency in the tone of the woman and hurried to the ward. As soon as they burst inside the ward, they took a look at the condition of the patient. The doctor in charge’s expression turned dark at once. "What is going on with your family? I told you that even though the patient’s condition is good, he still needs to be observed. Look at this! His temperature is crossing past hundred degrees and his blood pressure is spiking. Why did no one call us last night? You are lucky that he was able to hold on till now. Nurses push him to the ICU right away."

When the nurses pushed Han Yichen out of the ward, Han Ziyan stumbled and fell off the chair. She staggered and drowsily asked, "What happened?"

"What happened? What happened? Han Ziyan! Do you even have any shame? My father worked hard to raise you even though you are not his daughter. Couldn’t you have taken care of him for one night?" Han Ruochen was so angry that she could not help but slap Han Ziyan.

Even Han Xuehan, whose temper was much more sublime than the rest, could not help but scold Han Ziyan. "Mom asked you to take care of dad and we all trusted you. We thought that you could take care of him. Why did you not pay attention to him? And you even fell asleep! Have you no sense of responsibility?"

At first Han Ziyan wanted to lose her temper when she was slapped by Han Ruochen but when she heard that Han Yichen was pushed out of the ward, she was shocked silly. She looked behind her and realised that Han Yichen was really not in the ward. How could she not be worried? She was the one taking care of Han Yichen the entire night and something happened to him. If Han Yichen died, then she would become the sinner of the entire Han family. Could she still stay in the Han family after this?

"I— what happened to dad?" Han Ziyan was now wide awake and because she was scared, she even forgot about her temper. "Where is he? What is happening?"

"He was pushed into the operating room again because you are so useless!" Han Ruochen snapped. She was so angry and frustrated with Han Ziyan that she did not know what to do. If not for the fact that she was exhausted to the point that she could not even stand straight, she would have never left her father alone with Han Ziyan. She thought that with her dowry unsettled, Han Ziyan would take care of her father, but putting her trust into this woman was simply foolish!

At that moment, Han Ruochen felt simply frustrated and wronged. She had two elder siblings and one adopted one and yet she was the only one who was bearing all the sufferings. Last night, only she knew how scared she was. In her heart, maybe she knew that even if Han Yong and Han Xuehan came along with her, they would not be able to help her. So, Han Ruochen worked twice as hard to borrow the money. Even now when she was thinking about repaying the money, it never came to her mind that she would have someone to back her up.

Even now she was thinking about how to pay the money back on her own!

She could not help but feel unfair.

In terms of education, she was better than Han Ziyan. In terms of abilities her brother and she were way better than Han Ziyan. Her sister had been helping Meng Yunhan since she was a child. Han Jianyou and Han Beijiang were also filial children. They never dared to go against Meng Yunhan even though they were wronged countless times.

All in all, the five Han siblings were better than Han Ziyan in every way. So why was her mother still hanging onto the dead Yun family tree? Why was their mother planning on using their blood and flesh to pave the way for Han Ziyan?

What was so good about Han Ziyan and Yun Xinye?

Her mother might have thought that she had hidden her thoughts quite well but the truth was that Han Ruochen knew what was going on in her head. She knew that the reason why her mother wanted Han Ziyan to stay behind was because she wanted Han Yichen to believe that Han Ziyan, despite being an adopted child, was filial while their own children did not care about their parents.

If not for the fact that Han Ruochen knew that everyone was tired after tossing around the entire night and Old Madam Han being with them, Han Ruochen would have never left for home. Her father was her biological father and he obviously loved Meng Yunhan; if not for this small obstruction, she would have caused a huge fuss long ago if she were not worried that her father would end up hurting himself if he found out the truth!

Nevertheless, at this point Han Ruochen could not be bothered by her father’s love for her mother.
