What was more, Master Zhao’s son was younger than Han Ruochen. What if the man was unable to understand his daughter? He did not want to cause anymore pain to Han Ruochen.

Old Master Zhao still wanted to convince Han Yichen but his wife reached out and patted him on the back of his hand. When the man turned to look at her, she blinked at him. She was hinting to him that there was no need for him to be so anxious. After all, there was still a chance for Han Ruochen to become their daughter in law.

As long as Han Ruochen took a liking to her son, Han Yichen would not refuse if the two of them got together. However, Old Master Zhao did not agree with her suggestion. If he did not hit the iron when it was hot, he was worried that someone would snatch his ideal daughter in law.

Han Ruochen was a good catch. She would have a lot of admirers in the future. They might as well make a move when they still had time.

Old Master Zhao’s wife smiled at her husband. Zhao Mingzhu was her son; how could she not know what kind of ladies that her son preferred?

Every man would fall in love with someone like Han Ruochen. Her face alone was enough to make any man fall for her on first sight. Even if not love at first sight, any man would adore and love her with time. No one could dislike someone like Han Ruochen. Eventually, the two of them would grow feelings for each other.

Han Yichen did not seem like a man who would go back on his words. As long as their son was willing to cherish Han Ruochen, Han Yichen would not have any objections to their marriage. By then, Han Ruochen would still have to be their daughter in law.

Old Master Han had no idea what was going through his wife’s mind. There was nothing he could do since she intended to keep him in suspense.

However, he soon realised what was going on in his wife’s mind when his son came to see him five days later.

"Dad, how are your injuries?" Zhao Mingzhu learnt of the news that his father was injured and he had been staying in the hospital for the time being. However, before his father could respond, Zhao Mingzhu immediately snapped at his father, "Dad, Mom! You have gone too far this time." Zhao Mingzhu never thought that his parents would actually keep this matter a secret.

He had already told them that he was still young and if he wanted, he could find them a suitable wife any time. But they refused to listen.

At the moment he wanted to focus on nothing more than on his promotion. How could he have the time to worry about marriage and a partner? If he were to marry now, how was he going to focus on his promotion?

Many of his comrades were eyeing his position as the commander-in-chief. If he made even the slightest mistake, then he was sure that the position that was in his hands would end up slipping from his grasp. Marriage would only drag him down. What was more, he was still in shock after finding out that one of his good brothers was cheated on by his wife just because he was not with her after getting married. He couldn’t afford to stay together with someone like that woman.

Who could guarantee the character of the woman he was going to marry?

Look at this.

His wife had not even arrived at their family and his father had already landed himself in the hospital.

"You brat! Is this how you are going to talk to your father? You have never visited your parents for almost a year, and now that you are here, you actually scolded your father? Do you even have a heart?" Old Master Zhao pulled a long face. He was very unhappy.

Sons were indeed very different from daughters. Whenever Han Ruochen was here, she would ask about her father’s condition and whether he was in pain. She would always show concern for him. She also prepared nutritious meals for him. What was more, the first person she was worried about after returning from her voyage was her father.

But look at his son. He only knew how to admonish him as soon as he arrived. Had their roles been reversed? Had the heavens been rebelled against? Who exactly was the father here and who was the son?

More importantly, who was he doing it for? He did it for his son.

As expected, sons were not as good as daughters.

Old Master Zhao had been frustrated these days and his son’s attitude only worsened his mood. There was so much difference between how his son treated him and how Han Ruochen treated her father. No wonder Han Yichen was unwilling to let his daughter marry his son. Just look at him. The way his son was talking to him, even he wouldn’t want him.

"Dad, you—" However, just as Zhao Mingzhou was about to scold his father, the door opened and a familiar figure caught sight. "It’s you!"

Han Ruochen had just stepped inside the ward when she heard someone’s exclamation. She was startled and immediately stopped in her stride before raising her head and looking at the man in front of her. At first she did not recognise Zhao Mingzho at all.

When Zhao Mingzhou noticed that Han Ruochen was having trouble recognising him, he immediately smiled at her and reminded her, "We met last month?"

Only then did Han Ruochen recall where she had seen the man in front of her. She smiled at him and said, "I still have to thank you for what you did last time."

Han Yichen: !!!

He looked at his daughter in alarm and cried out. "Ruochen, what are you talking about?"
