Reborn In The 90's: Saving My Siblings With A Fishing System
Chapter 492: Pushing Them Together (II)
Old Master Zhao had been insisting on getting Han Ruochen engaged to his son. If it was some other time, he would not have thought too much, but now he could not help but wonder if –
"Dad." Han Ruochen’s expression turned embarrassed. She knew what her father was thinking and immediately rolled her eyes at him. She lowered her voice and corrected her father. "It’s nothing as you think so." however, the ward was only this big and her voice was eventually heard by Zhao Mingzhu.
"Ahem." Zhao Mingzhu was a bit embarrassed when he heard Han Ruochen’s response. He immediately bowed in front of Han Yichen and politely introduced himself. "I am sorry for introducing myself so late. I am Zhao Mingzhou. It’s a pleasure to meet you, Uncle Han."
Old Master Zhao: "..."
He slowly turned to look at his wife and did not know what to say. No wonder his wife asked him to stay quiet and not say a word the last time he was trying to please Han Yichen. Looking at his son’s gaze, it was quite clear that he was more than just pleased with Han Ruochen’s looks.
Old Master Zhao’s wife raised her head like a proud chicken. Zhao Mingzhou was her son; of course she knew what kind of woman her son would like. He might act like he had nothing in his heart but her son had always loved beautiful women with a stable head on their shoulders. How could he not like Han Ruochen?
While the two of them were filled with glee, Han Yichen was so shocked that if not for the fact that he was ridden in bed, he would have jumped out of the bed in shock. What was going on? Why were the two of them talking as if they knew one another?
Realising that the man was still worried, Zhao Mingzhu immediately cleared up the air. "Please don’t misunderstand, Uncle. We only met once and I came here to help, Miss Han. One of my superiors asked me to deliver money to her a month ago... I think it was for your surgery."
Zhao Mingzhu was an honest person and he did not want to cause any trouble for Han Ruochen by misleading her father and immediately cleared the air.
"Yes, he helped me greatly by making the trip."
"I was just passing some things on behalf of someone; that was no trouble at all." Zhao Mingzhu blushed. He did not feel like he was worthy of the gratitude that Han Ruochen was showing to him.
Han Yichen understood what was going on. He immediately turned to look at Zhao Mingzhu and thanked him. "I understand...thank you for your help."
Even though it was Zhai Muchen who had helped his family, Zhao Mingzhu also helped them by providing timely assistance.
"There is no need to thank him. This is something he should have done." Although Old Master Zhao did not understand what was going on, he felt that Han Ruochen and his son were fated. Maybe if his son tried hard enough, then he might be able to win Han Ruochen’s heart.
"Dad!" Zhao Mingzhu felt embarrassed and angry. He quickly poured a cup of tea for his father and said, "You myst be thirsty after chatting for so long. You might as well drink some tea to calm yourself."
Old Master Zhao took the cup of tea but he still glared at his son. His son was truly disappointing. He did all for his sake, and yet he did not have the slightest bit of gratitude for him.
Han Ruochen glanced at the young man, who looked like he was embarrassed to death and blinked hard. What was going on? The atmosphere was getting more and more awkward. In particular, Zhao Migzhou’s parents seemed to be casting meaningful looks at the two of them. She turned to look at her father and asked, "Dad, what is going on?"
"It’s nothing," since his daughter did not have the slightest bit of idea what was going on in the mind of the two elders of the Zhao family, there was no need for him to tell anything to her.
Even though Zhao Mingzhu had helped Han Ruochen, he had at most passed the money to Han Ruochen. If they started talking about gratitude, then by this logic, Zhai Muchen had the right to marry his daughter more. Han Ruochen was still upset with what happened with Yang Jianming; he couldn’t possibly ask his daughter to marry someone she did not even like.
"Oh." Since Han Yichen had said so, Han Ruochen did not give it much thought. She placed down the lunchbox that she had brought with her and said to her father, "Dad, have some soup while it is still hot. Otherwise the taste will turn fishy."
She then turned to look at the wardmate and offered him a bowl as well. "Here, Uncle. Have some terrapin soup as well.. It is good for the body."
"Ah, yes." Old Master Zhao was quite happy when he saw Han Ruochen paying attention to him. But at the same time, his heart was filled with grief; he would rather hope that Han Ruochen would start calling him father.
He glanced at his son and said, "Ruochen, you are really polite and virtuous. To think that you actually brought terrapin soup. Its really delicious and nutritious. We can hardly drink such a good soup these days." He turned to look at his son and smiled at him. "Why don’t you have a sip too?"
"Dad, you can have it. I am fine." Zhao Mingzhou’s lips twitched when he heard his father’s suggestion. No matter how thick his skin was, he would never steal a bite from the bowl of a patient’s.
Zhao Mingzhou could not understand what his father was trying to do but his mother did. She looked at her husband and shot him an admiring look while Old Master Zhao rolled his eyes. Did he look like he was a fool? He knew that this was the perfect opportunity!
"Its so crowded today. What is going on?"
