Reborn In The 90's: Saving My Siblings With A Fishing System
Chapter 556: You Do Not Own This Dock (II)
Tang Zhaodi let out a scream when she saw the thugs attacking Han Ruochen; she wanted to pull the woman behind her but Han Ruochen was faster than her. She did not even blink and relying on her sea scanning system along with her inhuman strength, she fluidly dodged the attacks that were aimed at her. Before the first pipe could descend, her hand shot out like a striking cobra, and her fingers dug into the pressure point of the thug who had tried to attack her.
Snap! The sound of bones crushing echoed throughout the docks and everyone turned to look at the man who was now gasping in excruciating pain. His fingers instantly went numb as the heavy pipe fell onto the floor. Without even giving a chance for the man to recover, Han Ruochen pivoted on her heel and then slammed her palm into the second thug’s sternum. The blow was strong enough to send the two hundred pound man flying backward into the iron gates with a deafening crash.
Before the rest of the gang could process what was happening, Han Ruochen was onto them. She caught hold of another thug and then executed a swift wrist clamp on him. She disarmed the blade that he was holding with a single twist and then drove him face-first into the dirt.
Her speed was fast and her strength was no joke. When the men saw her deal with three men on her own, they all fell silent.
Old Scar jumped off his crate, his face pale with shock. He knew that Han Ruochen was strong but he never knew that she was this strong. It seemed like he had underestimated her way too much. This woman was not as simple as he thought. His fingers flew to the inside pocket of his jacket, where he was carrying a pistol with him.
“I will not recommend shooting me,” said Han Ruochen coldly, when she saw what the man was trying to do. Her eyes were sharp enough to see the metal body of the pistol that was halfway out of the coat’s pocket and out in open. “You might underestimate the power of the paper that I am carrying but Old Scar, you are no fool. You should also realise that I am different from you. If you die here, I will be rewarded for killing a criminal, but on the other hand, if you kill me, you will definitely be locked up for more than twenty years. After all, I am still a hero recognised by the bureau.”
Old Scar’s hand that was inside his coat froze. His forehead broke out in cold sweat. He had not expected such a thing. Why would he be locked up in the prison cell just because he killed a little girl like Han Ruochen? But when he heard her confident tone, he could not help but think things over again. What was more, Han Ruochen was not simple. This woman was able to deal with three of his men and did not even break a sweat. She was a woman who could kill someone if she wanted and that too with ease.
Han Ruochen was correct. He was a known criminal in the county and had been involved in many petty crimes in the past. So even if he died here, no police officer would try to find the truth about his death. If anything, they would think of his death as good riddance.
“Furthermore,” Han Ruochen added, her voice echoing through the quiet harbour. “If you make this matter escalate any further, then there is a good chance that everything about you, including the past that you have worked so hard to hide, might end up being dug up if an investigation gets started. Old Scar, let this matter end here and be done with it. Or do you want to drag this matter until this case is taken to the police station?”
Han Ruochen was not trying to help Old Scar nor did she care about what happened with him. But if she could stop him from dragging her deeper into another mess, what was wrong with trying?
However, before Old Scar could make up his mind, the crisp sound of high heels clicking against the hard pavement echoed behind her.
“It seems like you are already in quite a pinch, Miss Han.”
A woman dressed in a black dress walked right over. Han Ruochen recognised the woman right away. It was none other than Shen Lingxue, wrapped in an expensive fur coat. Her red lips were curved in a triumphant and mocking smile.
When Han Ruochen saw her, she could not help but frown. What was she even doing here?
Shen Lingue strutted toward her, and her eyes were filled with cold arrogance as she held up a sleek blue-bound folder.
“Did I come at the wrong time? Were you in the middle of being beaten up?” Shen Lingxue sneered, waving the documents that she had brought with her in the face of Han Ruochen. “Miss Han, it seems like you are getting in trouble one after another. Here you are being cornered by a bunch of thugs and here you have lost the right to use this dock for your commercial purposes.”
When she spoke those words, Shen Lingxue was filled with glee. This darned woman snatched her position as the disciple of Old Master Xu and what was more, this woman was getting chummy with Zhai Muchen as well. But not anymore. With her dealing with Han Ruochen, this woman would certainly learn her position and won’t cause anymore trouble for her.
“What do you mean? I was rewarded with the land deed of these docks,” questioned Han Ruochen with a frown.
“Of course, and I am not denying it.” Shen Lingxue chuckled with a happy gleam in her eyes. “But this is where you are mistaking something. While you do own the dock, you do not own the authority to run it.”
