Chapter 561: Buy A Car

He usually heard Meng Yunhan complain that Han Jianyou was not cut out for studying and that it was a waste of their efforts and money to let him continue with his studies, and this matter was brought up many times in the family meeting. Because of Han Jianyou’s result, even he started to feel that they were wasting their money, but now, he had a feeling that there was more to his brother’s situation.

"What do you want to eat, Jianyou?" said Han Yong with a smile on his lips. He reached out and hugged his brother out of happiness. "Your elder brother will cook whatever you want to eat."

Han Jianyou turned embarrassed when he saw that his elder brother and sisters were praising him. "There were many questions that I knew and practised. I was lucky that the exam papers had only those questions that I had practised. It was really easy for me to solve the paper. Maybe if I had worked hard, then I could have scored the first position."

Han Ruochen rubbed his head and said to him, "There is no need to put pressure on yourself anymore, as long as you are willing to work hard; that is enough for us." In her past life, Han Jianyou had ruined himself by following Meng Yunhan’s advice; now that he was willing to change, it was good enough for her. She never wanted them to become successful by ruining their lives. She only wanted them to live a good life. That was all she wanted.

After a moment, she crouched down and asked, "What do you want? Sister will have to arrange some things before I can take you to the mall." So she might as well hide it; today was her brother’s day, and she did not want to ruin it. As for dealing with the two of them, she would handle that matter later on.

She thought that her brother would ask for something to eat; after all, her son was a foodie. However, to everyone’s surprise, after a moment of hesitation, Han Jianyou said, "Sister, can we buy a two-wheeler?"

Han Ruochen was stunned when she heard her brother say that he actually wanted a vehicle. She blinked her eyes and repeated, "You want to buy a bike?"

Even Han Yong was stunned. However, a second later he frowned and said to Han Jianyou, "You better not be thinking of racing with other kids. Even if you did a good job in exams, we cannot spoil you rotten. Do you even know how dangerous it is to ride a bike?" He had heard all about the kids who got into an accident after they were caught in one. He did not want to see the same happen to his brother as well. One single accident and he would end up getting crippled or something worse. Who knows what might happen to him?

"Brother, at least listen to him first." Han Ruochen could not help but scold her brother when she saw that he was lecturing Han Jianyou without listening to why he wanted a bike. She turned and looked at Han Jianyou once her brother had been silenced. "Tell your second sister, why do you want to buy a bike?"

Han Jianyou was quite happy when he saw that Han Ruochen was willing to listen to him. "My deskmate has a bike at home. He told me that it is quite handy when it comes to urgent things. As long as we have a bike, we can reach the county in a matter of ten minutes. This is really good in times of emergency, and then there is also the matter of Dad being sick; his injuries are still healing, and he has not recovered completely yet. With a bike at home, we do not need to worry about anything. We can even take our dad to the hospital the second he speaks about feeling pain."

After hesitating, he added, "Sister, I know that this is an extra expense, but a bike is quite useful. You don’t have to look at the faces of others to take our father to the county, and we can also have a means of transport that we can use whenever we want. Second Aunt has been mocking you for giving a smaller share to Second Uncle despite using their family’s vehicle. I think it is time for us to get a vehicle of our own. You can always join a cart at the back of the bike and then drive it to the county."

Han Jianyou had been thinking about this for quite some time and thought that it was a really good solution to his troubles as well as his family’s.

As he finished speaking, he tugged on his sister’s arm. "Second Sister, let’s buy it. I don’t want Second Aunty to say that you have no conscience and did not know who your family was." His tone was quite coquettish as he swung on her arm left and right.

"Jianyou, you..." Han Yong’s heart was touched. His brother was a good boy; he was thinking about their family, but at the same time he was worried, knowing that they could not waste their money like this. They had a debt to repay!
