"Nini, I’m mad."

Lu Cheng’s voice, sullen and laced with a hint of grievance, instantly reminded Shen Nian of a pouty child demanding candy.

At that thought, Shen Nian couldn’t help but chuckle.

But when Lu Cheng felt her laugh, he grew even more sullen. He buried his face in the crook of her neck and gave it a bite.

Of course, it was just a gentle bite. Lu Cheng would never actually hurt Shen Nian.

However, even though Lu Cheng didn’t use much force, the feeling of his warm breath on her neck still made Shen Nian’s body tremble slightly.

"That’s what you get for laughing at me!"

Lu Cheng didn’t bite her again, but he remained buried in her neck, unmoving.

"I wasn’t laughing at you!"

’She just thought this side of Lu Cheng was adorable. She was happy, that’s all. Why would she ever make fun of him?!’

"You’re still laughing!"

Accused by Lu Cheng, Shen Nian realized that she did, in fact, have a smile on her face the whole time.

’If I don’t placate Lu Cheng properly, I probably shouldn’t expect him to let me go back to my dorm tonight.’

Only after confirming that Shen Nian was no longer smiling did Lu Cheng seem satisfied, but a trace of anger still lingered on his face.

"Still mad?"

Shen Nian was really putting it all on the line. Normally, she would never say something so cringey! But right now, if she didn’t manage to coax Lu Cheng into a better mood, he definitely wouldn’t be leaving with any peace of mind.

Sure enough, upon hearing Shen Nian call him her "sweetheart," Lu Cheng froze. He stared at her, his face gradually turning red, but his eyes were filled with delighted surprise.

Lu Cheng’s face flushed an even deeper shade of red. Seeing Shen Nian laughing so gleefully at him, he grit his teeth and yanked her toward him.

After pulling her into a full embrace, he kissed her fiercely once again.

This one lasted even longer. Even when he felt Shen Nian’s breathing grow ragged, Lu Cheng didn’t let her go. Instead, he lightened the pressure slightly, waiting for her to recover before starting a new round.

By the time Shen Nian was free again, she felt like she wasn’t even herself anymore. And even without a mirror, she could easily imagine what a mess she must look like.
