But none of them knew that she actually loved dancing.

If possible, she hoped she could perform on a bigger stage.

But the place they were assigned to enlist was a hospital, not a performing arts troupe.

When Fan Cuiling first learned about this, she was a little disappointed, but her uncle had already done enough for her, and she didn’t want to cause him any more trouble.

Now that she knew there was such an opportunity, Fan Cuiling couldn’t sit still anymore.

This might very well be the only chance she would ever get in her whole life.

Of course, if she succeeded, there might be more chances in the future.

But she had to take this first step.

"You want to see?" As soon as Gu Lingling finished speaking, Fan Cuiling’s eyes lit up, and she actually looked a little eager to give it a try.

"The little girl can dance?" Mo Hongying said with a smile. "You really can’t tell."

Because She came from the countryside, when She first arrived, She was wearing clothes her stepmother had put together for her. She didn’t know if it was on purpose or not, but anyway, they made her look terribly rustic and village-like.

That look had left a deep impression on people. Even now, though the clothes She wore were pretty decent, everyone was still stuck with their old impression of her.

A girl who hadn’t even finished primary school could actually dance.

"Mm, I taught myself." Fan Cuiling nodded seriously. "Sister Lingling, do you want to take a look?"

Gu Lingling really couldn’t withstand the burning look in her eyes and nodded.

Then Fan Cuiling glanced around. "Where should I do it? Can we move this sofa over there?"

Just how much space did she need...?

Gu Lingling lived in the cadre building for regimental-level officers, and her living room was already considered quite large.

So the few of them just stupidly moved the sofa off to the side.

Now the space should be big enough.

"What should I do first?" The little girl was a bit excited and a bit nervous. "How about I do a split for you first? I see the girls in the performing arts troupe practice like this all the time."

A split!

For these older sisters with their aging arms and legs, that was something from way too long ago.

Before they even had time to react, the little girl went straight down into a split, not even bothering to warm up.

Perfect.

Cleaner, crisper, and much nicer to look at than the women soldiers in the performing arts troupe.

Then side splits, front splits... however the performing arts troupe usually started their basic training, that was exactly what she did.

"I’ll do a spin now." After easily finishing a series of movements, Fan Cuiling said, "I can spin more times than that Lv Qiong from the performing arts troupe."

Lv Qiong was the pillar of the performing arts troupe.

Every year at the base’s Spring Festival Gala, she was the one closing the show.

Even among the base leadership, her name carried weight.

She was considered one of the better-known figures in the base.

And now Fan Cuiling was actually saying she could spin more times than Lv Qiong!

Could this little girl be bragging?

"Well then... I’ll just dance the climactic part of what she performed at last year’s Spring Festival Gala." Fan Cuiling tugged at her clothes as she spoke.

Gu Lingling noticed that whenever Fan Cuiling talked about dancing, her face practically lit up. There was a kind of indescribable confidence about her, and she was like a whole different person from her usual self.

She thought, maybe this child really did love dancing.

So when she later watched Fan Cuiling gracefully finish the climactic section of Lv Qiong’s dance and spin like an elegant swan, perfectly and effortlessly—

She wasn’t surprised anymore.

But Mo Hongying and Zhang Lanfang didn’t know any of this, and even Yuanyuan covered her mouth in shock.

Then, after a few seconds of silence, the whole room exploded.
