Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 1510: End of Colossuses Part 3

Chapter 1510: End of Colossuses Part 3

Many minutes later...

Xu Feng answered quite a few questions under the confession spells until he finally snapped.

"Ask me again, and see what I’ll do." He was here not as a suspect or a criminal. He only answered a few out of respect, but push him further, and then there would be problems.

"I think that’s enough." Olivia cleared her throat. It was indeed a bit overboard for the two of them to interrogate him like a suspect.

But one must understand that such a major incident and its numerous coincidences needed to verify his intention.

"It’s wrong for us to put you through this trial, so how about we let you decide the fate of the Razor Nightmare as an apology?" Aether suddenly suggested.

"Wow, do you think I’m that kind of person?" Xu Feng clicked his tongue and shook his head a few times.

The atmosphere turned slightly awkward for a moment before Xu Feng flashed a shrewd smile.

"Your Majesty, I am indeed that kind of person." He said sinisterly.

"..."

Olivia was rendered speechless by his response. The Royal Steward managed to camouflage himself perfectly in the scenery so as not to be noticed for his reaction.

As for Aether...

He burst out laughing. "Hahahaha, as expected of Viscount Lin Feng. Prior to the incident, I’ve read about you from multiple people already. And it seems like they have severely underestimated you in their reports."

"Oh..." Xu Feng feigned a look of surprise. He obviously knew someone had been reporting his actions to others.

Otherwise, it would have been really weird for him to be promoted as a Viscount without the upper nobles knowing about him.

"Anyway, earlier you mentioned that there are ways to end the colossuses. Do you mean it?" Aether suddenly turned serious as he asked in a stern tone.

He could joke around, but when it came to significant events, his emperor demeanor and persona came forth.

Naturally, the same goes for Xu Feng.

"Has Your Majesty noticed a pattern in the Colossuses’ attack lately?"

"A pattern in their attack?" Aether knitted his brows and tried to recall the situation.

A few seconds later, Aether rubbed his chin. "Royal Steward, bring me the past records of their recent attacks."

"Yes, Your Majesty!" The Royal Steward immediately opened up a portal.

In a swooshing motion, the Royal Steward returned in less than 30 seconds.

The competence was in full view.

Meanwhile, Xu Feng was a bit surprised that the Royal Steward held the strength of a Tier 4.

The latter managed to conceal his strength so much. He only managed to detect it for a very brief moment when the steward opened up a portal.

With the records in hand, Aether began analyzing them more thoroughly.

"Hmm?" His brows suddenly knitted tightly. At a glance, all the attacks seemed random and impromptu. But now that he took a closer look, each of these attacks had a common point.

"Food source..." He looked up to Xu Feng in confusion.

But then that was where Aether didn’t get it.

Colossuses don’t need food to survive. Their mana structure and unique properties alone made them self-sustainable.

Why would they target food sources?

"Could it be that they want to starve our people?" Aether questioned. But then again, food might have dwindled by a lot, but the majority of people are still eligible to receive food.

And under the Emergency Code Act, food prices rose to a set minimum. Any hoarders who attempted to price-gouge to earn a big profit were immediately arrested.

Nobles who were caught in the act were either stripped of their status or demoted, with the worst case scenario being execution.

Not to mention, Aether had already implemented the new policy to produce more cultivation lands for food. The other cultivation for things such as cotton and other raw materials was halted in production.

"Colossuses indeed do not require any food to survive. They consume them out of joy, but the same could not be said for their armies." Xu Feng smiled and retrieved a stack of documents.

"I’ve ordered my people to do some deep investigation regarding the Colossus’ army. The estimated food that the monsters required for consumption under them was astronomical."

"Hoh?" Aether was intrigued. He quickly signaled for the Royal Steward to bring the documents over to him to browse.

Sometime later, Aether was stupefied by how the monsters under the Colossuses had shown signs of eating each other.

Even though they had been suppressed and submitted to the Colossuses, their natural instinct of starvation overwhelmed them into fighting each other to feed their bellies.

"This is indeed something new, but the monsters’ reproduction abilities are frighteningly high." Aether exhaled deeply.

Part of the reason why they couldn’t just deploy high-level combatants to eliminate the monsters en masse was that they would just continuously pop up in huge numbers.

The monsters’ reproduction abilities were enhanced under the Colossuses influence. Some of them didn’t even need a partner to give birth. They could just lay eggs, as in plural.

"You’re right, Your Majesty." Xu Feng didn’t argue about their reproduction abilities. That was a fact and not something he could change.

"So why bring this up?" Aether was visibly annoyed. He had thought there was a breakthrough, but it was just information he knew already.

"Let me finish speaking, Your Majesty." He chuckled amusingly.

"Ugh, just speak what you want in exchange. Stop beating around the bush!" Annoyed, Aether directly ordered him to speak the crucial point.

"Hehe, please give me the jurisdiction to promote my Haven Wind Town to Haven Wind City and a 99% discount on the upgrade."

"..."

Aether took a deep breath and stared at the Royal Steward. "You’ve heard the man. Get the certification ready for him."

"Right away!" The Royal Steward never expected such a situation and hurriedly left to prepare the certification.

"Now tell me your grand plan."

"Yes, Your Majesty." Xu Feng bowed and immediately revealed his devious plan.

"The monsters would still actively search for food sources. I have managed to hoard a ton of food in the past weeks and successfully invented a potion that would infect the monsters with death. Without the large army of monsters, the Colossuses would be just a big monster for us to slay."
