It took Xu Feng a few seconds to regain his composure. Truth be told, his current income had long gone beyond millions.
The only reason he was shocked was that the amount of money earned nowadays seemed much easier than in the old times.
But then again, Cute Joy and Little Honey were two talented individuals.
They simply didn’t shine in the past because many were buffoons to recognize their talents.
He had also heard of their stories and plights. And in his mind, such parents might as well not exist.
How dare they try to force their children to arrange marriage or marry them off for wealth in today’s age!
They were more terrible than his old parents, who had abandoned him somewhere.
At the very least, Xu Feng didn’t even need to deal with them, but Cute Joy and Little Honey couldn’t avoid that process.
And it was now that he finally realized why Cute Joy reported the sum to him.
If their parents were to learn they earned such a big sum of money, given their rotten personality, they would definitely try to steal it from them.
"Joy, I’ll contact a bank and have them create an account under a joint name. Both you and Honey can access it, with me being the sole owner. That way, the money can be withdrawn by either of you, but I will have the final say. Are you okay with this?" Xu Feng asked.
Some might think he was trying to steal their money with such an arrangement, but Cute Joy understood his actual intention.
By creating a joint account with Xu Feng being the sole authority, it meant that her parents or Honey’s parents could not dream about trying to take the money away.
After all, they would then not have to fight their daughters, but the Vanguard Guild Leader, aka the owner of Vanguard.
Vanguard was now an official company with many subsidiaries, such as Vanguard Investment, Vanguard Entertainment Group, and more.
To summarize, Xu Feng was no longer an individual someone could just bring down if they wished for it.
Cute Joy smiled brightly.
"Thank you, Guild Leader." She said it from the bottom of her heart. The problems that she had in mind, the Guild Leader seemed to have understood right away without her needing to go through the details.
"My pleasure." Xu Feng smiled and told her to bargain for a higher price.
In the meantime, he would call Veronica to create that joint account.
And yes, he would definitely get an earful from Veronica now.
But to his surprise, he actually didn’t.
"A joint bank account with Joy and Honey, right?" Veronica was calm and accepted the task.
"Huh, you’re not mad?" Xu Feng was expecting a scolding for dumping more work on her.
Beside him, she was the hardest-working member. Honestly, he even planned to promote her to the Vice Guild Leader position, but she kept refusing because she didn’t want more workload.
"Mad? Why would I be mad?" Veronica questioned in confusion. "This is to help out those two girls from their disgusting families. Why would I complain about this?"
As someone who had experienced what Cute Joy and Little Honey did, she could totally understand their pain. Not to mention the courage that required them to step out of the family and go completely independent.
Although Xu Feng only heard some gist about her past, he never pried further than necessary.
"I’ll leave the matter to you then." He smiled and was about to end the call.
"Wait a second, Feng!" She quickly halted him.
"Razor Technology representatives contacted us and sought a negotiation about the recent drama."
"A negotiation?"
"Mhmm, they want to apologize for Edgar’s hostile action and hope that the two can resolve the issues."
Upon hearing that, Xu Feng let out a laugh. This was the kind of joke that made him incapable of resisting.
Was this all Edgar’s action alone anymore?
No, he was just the start, but later on, it was all because Razor Technology doubled down on it.
"Tell them to forget about negotiation. Do I, Xu Feng, look like some goddamn pushover?" He snorted. This wasn’t even their first time requesting a negotiation.
"They said anything is possible in the negotiation," Veronica explained, her tone somewhat indecisive.
"Anything? Does that include Razor Technology’s shares?"
"H-How did you know that, Guild Leader?"
"Eh?" Dumbfounded, Xu Feng’s eyes widened slightly. They seriously offered their shares up for reconciliation?
That can’t be it!
"Well, they actually want to exchange 6% of their shares for 5% of our shares." Veronica corrected.
"Hah..." His expression quickly returned to normal when he heard that.
To those unaware or not used to how shares work, just know this logic.
Once you lured a wolf into the house, it was hard to chase them away.
In other words, Razor Technology’s goal was to become a shareholder and slowly corrupt from within. It didn’t even matter if their shares were at the lowest minimum.
As long as they entered, they would have a chance to do whatever they wanted.
How did he know so well?
Because he was used to Razor Technology’s antics and saw numerous potential upcoming guilds that could become first-rate, he would get annexed through such tactics.
Those 5% they requested soon became 10% and so on and so on.
The allure of money was too powerful.
No matter how one claimed to be loyal, there were bound to be a few who couldn’t resist the temptation or had real-life issues that required large sums of money.
"Tell them to scram." Xu Feng smiled sweetly.
"Really?" Veronica was surprised.
That was 6% in exchange for 5% of their shares!
Keep in mind that, given the sheer size of Razor Technology, 6% was equivalent to 30 million or more annually in dividends.
"Veronica, I’m about to end the colossuses era, and the first sacrificial lamb will be this Razor Nightmare of theirs. What they did was not just targeting me alone, but the livelihood of many who work for us."
Xu Feng said in a never-before-seen serious tone. He might have never revealed it much on the surface, but he was furious.
