Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer
Chapter 1603: Esports Tournament Part 30
West Side
"Juggernaut wins!"
Juggernaut rammed another player with the shield blaster and roared loudly.
But in the next instance, Juggernaut found himself surrounded by 5 players from all sides.
"You dare challenge the Juggernaut? How dare you team up against me! Do you not respect the rules?" Juggernaut was infuriated. Teaming wasn’t allowed, so their actions were considered a violation.
"What is teaming?
"You have the shield blaster. If we don’t get rid of you, we’ll all die here."
"Tsk," Juggernaut clicked his tongue. He was arrogant with the shield blaster, but he knew better than to face 5 players at once.
They might only have a knife, but those knife slashes do 20 damage each time.
When using the shield blaster, he would be charging in a specific direction he chose. During that time frame, the other 4 players could easily target his vulnerable side.
...
"It seems like player Juggernaut is having a difficult time!" Outside the battle royale environment, Wei Xing began to commentate on the predicament that Juggernaut faced.
He also took the time to explain the shield blaster item and why the other 5 players decided to target him solely. "Teaming isn’t allowed, but special circumstances do enable this kind of act."
These players’ objectives were to survive. They all recognized the threat was Juggernaut and made the optimal decision to eliminate him together.
It wasn’t considered teaming because neither of these players was planning on helping another once the threat was eliminated.
"Ah, is that what you mean, Feng?" Carmen gasped when she saw Juggernaut’s predicament.
"Mhmm, Juggernaut was too arrogant." Xu Feng nodded. "Had he just killed one and retreated, the other players wouldn’t have grouped together to target him. These players aren’t foolish enough to allow such a big threat to survive."
"Hmm, but wouldn’t it be wiser to eliminate everyone nearby and keep all the loot for yourself?"
"That is correct, but it’s dependent on the item or weapon you get. Juggernaut only got the shield blaster. It’s effective for one-on-one, but not for a group. Think of a single-target spell versus an area-of-effect spell."
Realization quickly dawned upon Carmen.
"I see..." She rubbed her chin and muttered.
"If Juggernaut had gotten a weapon that could deal with a wide range of fields, then the decision to eliminate everyone would be correct. But he didn’t, so he’s now cornered at a dead end."
"He was blinded by the item’s rarity and lost his composure. Have you memorized the items and weapons that would be in the battle royale?"
"Of course, I did." Carmen nodded and listened to his instructions well.
Players’ individual skills were disabled in the battle royale, which meant her void power was locked. She would be no different than a lamb for the slaughter if she remained clueless as well.
"Good, pay attention to the players and their inventory. You want to know what is a good combination usage of the items." Xu Feng said.
As much as he wanted to inform her what was best, he didn’t want to babysit her.
There was no need to, anyway. He believed she would figure it out sooner or later.
In the past timeline, Carmen herself had also participated in the esports tournament.
The only difference was that Xu Feng had no interaction with her throughout the duration. He simply knew she had won the section she participated in and became more famous than ever.
In contrast, he was eliminated before the preliminary round and never got to make it big due to a series of bad luck.
It was one of the saddest moments in his life because that was his chance to soar.
However, he failed to soar and burned himself badly.
He was ridiculed and even severely underestimated until he managed to prove himself through another series of tedious work.
"Have you memorized the items, Feng?" Carmen suddenly leaned close to him and asked.
"Of course." He replied, only to receive a bite on the neck.
"Then be my commentator. Wei Xing isn’t bad, but I prefer your voice," she said coyly.
After all, Wei Xing simply commented on what was happening in the scene and not a foresight prediction commentary.
It wasn’t as interesting as Xu Feng’s blunt yet accurate prediction commentary. But more importantly, Wei Xing wasn’t the man she loved. It was Xu Feng that she loved, so anything he said or did, her eyes only contained love.
Of course, the singles would probably never understand such feelings.
"My throat will die." Xu Feng coughed a few times. "I don’t have enough saliva to be commentating."
Smooch!
Suddenly, Carmen attacked his mouth with her lips and gave him a French kiss.
"Now, you should have enough saliva, right?" She pulled away and smiled.
"It’s going to need refilling."
"Then I’ll keep giving it to you."
"Ugh, get a room, you two!!" Zhao Kai flashed a disdainful gaze at them. He was totally not acting jealous because he wasn’t getting any sugar from his own girlfriend.
Rather than sugar, he was getting criticism from Lynette and a lecture on how to perform well for the dueling section.
He signed up for the duel and fortress siege section. As for the battle royale, Zhao Kai omitted it because he didn’t like the open field environment.
He was trained to do combat in close proximity, so the battle royale would simply disrupt his mental state.
"Stay focused on learning." Xu Feng rolled his eyes and ignored his complaint.
"Hmm, the screen swapped two fights between someone named HighJack and Munda." He then shifted his attention to the screen and began commenting for Carmen.
"HighJack has uncommon items in his inventory, as opposed to Munda, who has 2 rare items. But Munda is at a disadvantage."
"Eh, how come?" Carmen raised an eyebrow.
"HighJack’s two uncommon items can neutralize the mana shield on Munda, plus they are fighting inside a tavern. The space is narrow, and HighJack has the wand blaster that could wipe Munda’s remaining health."
