Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer
Chapter 1604: Esports Tournament Part 31
Xu Feng’s commentary was spot-on.
While everyone believed Munda was going to win the battle, HighJack performed exactly what Xu Feng had mentioned and turned the tide.
Despite lacking higher-rarity items, HighJack utilized his items well to reverse the situation in his favor.
As the battle continued, Xu Feng’s commentary also went on with more extreme predictions.
It didn’t take long before the nearby audience started to realize he wasn’t spouting nonsense. Instead, he was very insightful and made the battle royale more entertaining than ever.
After all, Xu Feng would often criticize a few players’ mistakes who lost when they could have won.
Even some of the high rankers lost early on because they overestimated themselves and underestimated their opponents.
"This High Ranker Torrent was proficient in controlling his avatar, but he failed to acknowledge the fact that the battle royale was designed for fairness. He relied too much on his movement and omitted the existence of slow items that could disrupt his high-speed momentum." Xu Feng shook his head and explained his defeat wasn’t an upset.
"The opponent might not be famous, but they did their research well. They knew who Torrent was and purposely hurled numerous frost grenades and slow orbs around him."
As he continued, Xu Feng didn’t notice that some of the cameras that hovered between the audience for their reaction remained still on him. His commentary also happened to be captured at that moment.
Soon, the audience was baffled by Xu Feng’s insight and explanation of how Torrent could have won.
"Rather than blindly trusting his high speed, Torrent should have waited for the slow area to be gone." He criticized, pinpointing Torrent’s flaws.
"Also, the Mana Storm was closing in, so his opponent was going to be forced to head toward his direction anyway. Had he waited patiently, he would have an easy kill. But alas, he was too hasty."
"So that’s how it is!"
"I was wondering how Torrent lost to his opponent. It was like that, huh."
"Torrent has better equipment, but he was outdone anyway. The battle royale really isn’t simple."
Many audiences nodded their heads in agreement. They found Xu Feng’s analysis very reasonable, albeit too blunt and brutal.
Nevertheless, it was clear that he didn’t mean any ill will toward Ranker Torrent. He simply spoke his mind and gave out pointers on how to do better.
In fact, Torrent himself also hopped out of the gaming capsule after being eliminated and overheard the analysis at that time.
’Right, the Mana Storm was closing in, and it was favorable for me. To think I gave that up because I saw my opponent had weak equipment.’ Torrent admitted that his high kill count made him arrogant.
He thought a weak opponent without any fear and behaving timidly would be easy to kill. He wanted to stack his kill count to increase his prestige further.
Unfortunately, that was a costly mistake, and he ended up losing.
In the end, he was placed 34th out of the 200 participants.
As the camera panned toward Torrent, who decided to exit the gaming capsule to reveal himself, the former shifted to Xu Feng’s direction and cupped his fist.
It was a sign of acknowledgement and gratitude toward the advice.
He was a ranker, and could discern when people were being hypocritical, sarcastic, or genuine.
"Gasp! Ranker Torrent admitted his mistake and greeted the commentator by the audience."
"Just who is that commentator? He seemed to be more knowledgeable than the emcee."
"Wait, I recognize that face! Isn’t he that actor from the hot short drama? Something transmigrated as a young master!"
In the blink of an eye, the audience realized Xu Feng’s identity. His face was still vividly clear to many who spend their spare time watching short dramas.
And within the short drama industry, he was still a hot commodity despite starring in very few of them.
"Uh oh, you’ve been recognized." Carmen covered her mouth when she overheard the audience’s chattering.
"Should have booked a VIP booth instead." Zhao Kai took the chance to jab.
Since Xu Feng was stingy and refused to spend extra for the VIP Booth, they ended up being identified.
Or more specifically, Xu Feng himself was too high-profile.
"It’s not like I need to wear a mask to hide my face. I’m not like you, Kai." Xu Feng shrugged and returned the jab.
To those who weren’t as close as they were, they wouldn’t understand that Xu Feng had just called Zhao Kai ugly and that he should be wearing a mask to hide himself to avoid public indecency.
"Sometimes, I really want to strangle you." Zhao Kai clicked his tongue.
"Sorry, I prefer to be hugged by Carmen over you." Xu Feng flatly rejected his suggestion.
"It was not a ’want’."
"Then forget it. I’m busy earning my hydration."
"Go screw yourself."
Zhao Kai was left with pent-up anger when he heard Xu Feng openly flaunting that he could get kisses.
"You’re so mean to him," Carmen suddenly whispered in his ear. She couldn’t fathom how the two were besties when all they did was banter.
"It’s only because we’re this close that we have unfiltered language." Xu Feng explained and held her hand. He interlocked their fingers together and chuckled softly.
"Right..." Carmen cleared her throat and chided him to stop commenting.
"I don’t think it’s a good idea."
"Why not?"
"Look at Wei Xing over there." He then pointed at Wei Xing by the side, who appeared to be constipated or something.
As someone who was paid to be the emcee, his commentary job seemed to be in jeopardy by none other than his boss.
Although Xu Feng’s alias was Cool Wind in the Divine World, his honorary elder position still placed him above Wei Xing in the Vanguard Guild.
’The Guild Leader isn’t present, so I thought it was my turn to shine brightly. But then the Honorary Elder is here to steal my thunder. Heavens, what exactly did I do wrong?’ Wei Xing was aggrieved. He had never felt such grievance before.
When he received an invitation to be an emcee for such a major event, he thought he had finally made it.
However, it seemed that was just a fleeting dream.
