"Why...? Did he do something?" Lucas asked carefully.

Knowing Ethan, he didn’t think the young man would suddenly want to attack someone without reason.

Ethan sighed, then explained what had transpired today.

Lucas fell silent. Then, he exploded in rage.

"He dared attack your shop?! This guy is truly insane! I’m going to go fuck him up right now!"

Ethan rolled his eyes and replied calmly. "Sure. Do me a favor and fuck up his entire family too."

Lucas immediately fell silent again, realizing he had spoken too much. Indeed, anger could make anyone say what would get them into trouble.

Now serious, Lucas spoke again. "Buying the Yin and Yang Games shouldn’t be that hard, but what would it do to Samuel?"

Watching as a flock of bats flew through the skies, Ethan replied.

"It won’t really affect him, unless we cut off their supply to the Mobos Game Company. I’m sure that’ll leave them in a bind for long."

Lucas immediately agreed. "That’s true. But... isn’t that a kind of light punishment? I thought you wanted to make him pay."

"Well, you’re right." Ethan chuckled. "However, I prefer to finish him slowly. Let him linger for a while and taste defeat."

Lucas hummed. "I’ll do my best, Brother Ethan."

Ethan nodded and ended the call. Humming, he lay on the chair and enjoyed the evening breeze.

Before he knew it, he had slept off. When he woke up, he realized it was already nighttime. Shaking his head, he stood up and went inside.

Only Evelyn remained in the living room, watching the news that was being broadcast. Nora had already gone to bed, unable to resist the alluring pull of sleep just like her father earlier.

Sitting beside his wife, Ethan pulled her into his arms. Evelyn smiled faintly.

"I noticed you slept outside. It seems you enjoyed the breeze?"

Ethan nodded. "I did. You should have joined me."

Evelyn giggled and shook her head. "I wasn’t sleepy then. But now, I feel sleepy."

Ethan blinked at looked at her eyes. "Do you want to go inside now?"

"I’m going to stay anywhere you are. Don’t worry," She replied, surprising him.

Showing a faint smile, Ethan picked up the remote and turned off the television. Scooping her up in his arms, Ethan turned off the lights and carried her towards the bedroom.

"Wait," She suddenly said, her voice low. "Um... let’s use the other bedroom for now."

Ethan blinked, confused. "Why?"

"Because..." She hesitated. "I don’t want us to disturb Nora’s sleep."

A puzzled expression crossed his face before realization dawned upon him.

"Oh... didn’t you say you were sleepy?" He asked with a smirk tugging at his lips.

Without hesitation, he turned around and headed to the other bedroom.

Evelyn blushed. "Well... I’m no longer sleepy, I guess."

Leon chuckled and entered the room, closing the door behind them. Thankfully, the rooms were soundproof and they didn’t have to fear Nora hearing them making noises.

That night, Nora woke up to her parents coming to bed around 2 AM.

She ignored the unusualness and went back to sleep after clinging to her mother. Not long after, Evelyn fell asleep too. After all, she was incredibly tired.

Only Leon still felt strong. However, he knew not to overuse his increased stamina. Lying in bed with his arms crossed behind his head, Ethan stared at the new system message that had just popped up.

[Personal Mission: Destroy Samuel Wayne ()]

This particular mission had just been added, and Ethan immediately liked the idea. After all, it correlated with his plans.

Still, he couldn’t help but wonder about the rewards. He could only hope it would be beneficial to him.

Closing his eyes, he remained there until he drifted off to sleep.

Early the next morning, he woke up to his biological clock and immediately did his daily exercises.

Wiping his sweat with a towel, he entered the bathroom to wash himself clean. Once he was done taking his bath, he put on a clean set of clothes and stepped into the kitchen.

While boiling water for tea, he placed a call to Vincent. The young man immediately answered.

"Good morning, Ethan."

He returned the greeting. "Good morning. How’s your family?"

"They’re doing good," Vincent answered. "Is there something you need my help with?"

Ethan nodded. "Yes. Could you repair the shop for me? I’m traveling so I won’t be able to monitor it properly."

Vincent went silent for a moment, then agreed. "Understood. I’ll take care of it... with the Skull Gang funds, of course."

Ethan chuckled and shrugged. "That’s fine. Don’t do too much. Just make sure it’s usable in the next two days."

Vincent hummed, then cut the call.

Ethan proceeded to make tea for his wife and daughter before they woke up. As he did, he checked his system interface.

[Current Family Status: Being Mended.]

[Family Happiness: 39%]

[Patriarch Qualification: E]

[Objective: Repair Your Family.]

The overall Family Happiness had increased greatly compared to his first day in this body. Although a large percentage of the happiness came from Evelyn, Nora’s happiness had also increased a lot too.

Another thing that had changed was his Patriarch Qualification. It had risen from an F- rank to an E, which was a nice improvement.

Ethan smiled and picked up the tray containing the filled teacups

He carried them to the dining room and placed them on the table.

Instead of immediately going to wake them up, he sat down and called his parents.

The phone rang for a while until Jason picked up the call.

"You finally decided to call me. What is it, brat?"

The older man sounded grumpy, like he had just woken up from a very pleasant dream and was annoyed about waking up.

"No good morning? Tsk, as expected of my father." Ethan snickered. "Anyway, how’s Mom?"

Jason grunted. "She’s fine. And don’t even think I didn’t hear what you said before that. You snotty brat."

Ethan ignored the jab and said, "We’re coming over to your house. Prepare for our arrival... and most especially, mine."

Jason scowled. "What did you just say? Your arrival? Why are you coming without telling me beforehand?"

"Hmm..." Ethan hesitated. "It was decided on a whim, yesterday. And I forgot to inform you."

"You son of a..." Jason started to curse.

Ethan didn’t let him finish. "Well, that doesn’t matter. I already informed you now, anyway. See you later."

He immediately ended the call, preventing his father from saying anything else. Knowing Jason, the man was probably delighted at the notion of their visit.

’What an odd father.’

Shaking his head, Ethan stood up and headed to the bedroom to wake Evelyn and Nora. It was just a few minutes past 7 AM, but he needed them to travel early.

"Hm?" Evelyn slowly opened her eyes, and seeing his face right above hers, she instinctively raised her head and kissed his lips.

Ethan blinked and smiled before turning to their daughter. He lightly shook her, and she groggily opened her eyes.

"Good morning, princess."

He leaned down and planted a kiss on her forehead. She stared at him for a moment, then rubbed her eyelids.

"Good morning, Dad."

He straightened his back and said to them, "I prepared tea already. You two should come take yours. We’re leaving early, after all."

Evelyn’s sleepy expression cleared immediately. "Alright, I’ll go get ready now. Have you called your parents to tell them we’re coming?"

Ethan nodded stiffly. "Sure. I already did that."

Before she could ask any more questions, he immediately fled from the room. Nora stood up and went after him while Evelyn also got out of bed.

In the dining room, Nora sat with her father, watching him press his phone. Suddenly, she asked a question.

"Dad, what does a good person mean?"

Ethan paused, confused and bewildered. "A good person?"

She nodded, her expression serious.

Realizing that she wanted a genuine answer, Ethan thought about it for a moment.

"A good person is someone who cares deeply for others and can render help even when it inconveniences him or her."

Nora nodded at his answer, then asked, "Are you a good person?"

Ethan froze, staring into her inky black eyes. He thought about his life as Victor Caldwell.

Had he been a good person? No. A true businessman could hardly be considered a good person.

Even now, was he a good person? He wasn’t so sure. After all, a good person wouldn’t almost choke the life out of someone to get an answer from them.

Shaking his head, he replied. "I can be kind and caring, but I’m not a good person."

Nora’s eyes narrowed, and she lowered her gaze. "I see..."

Without another word, she picked up her teacup and began drinking.

Ethan returned his attention to his phone. However, he remained curious about why she had asked such a question.

’Perhaps she’s trying to get herself prepared for school? There are only a few weeks left, after all.’

Shaking his head, he picked up his own teacup.

’Hm... good person...’
