Return of the Celestial King
Chapter 421: Terrible News
Liu Tao's eyes bulged wide. Even in death, he couldn't understand why Ouyang Feifei had the heart to kill him instead of showing him mercy like last time.
Qin Tuo glanced slowly at Ouyang Feifei. From her resolute expression, he felt like he understood something.
After killing Liu Tao, Ouyang Feifei squeezed her eyes shut. She slowly took two steps back and sat on the bed, her entire body heaving violently.
A moment later, hot tears streamed down Ouyang Feifei's face, and she burst into loud sobs.
But Qin Tuo understood she wasn't crying out of pity for Liu Tao, but because she had finally conquered her inner demons.
"Qin Tuo, quick, hold me!"
Ouyang Feifei cried out, throwing herself into Qin Tuo's arms.
Qin Tuo knew how vulnerable Ouyang Feifei was at that moment, so he didn't overthink it. He simply wrapped one arm around her waist and gently patted her shoulder with the other.
"It's okay. Don't dwell on it. From now on, you can embrace your new life."
Qin Tuo gently comforted her.
Ouyang Feifei nodded repeatedly, a profound sense of peace and composure settling deep within her heart.
Suddenly, Qin Tuo's face flushed red, and he couldn't help but let out a couple of coughs.
"Miss Ouyang, you should probably get dressed. This is… rather inappropriate."
Ouyang Feifei let out a startled shriek and immediately jumped away from him.
Only then did she realize she was just in her underwear, pressed so close against Qin Tuo that there was practically no difference from being skin-to-skin.
Ouyang Feifei's face turned the color of a ripe tomato, and she lowered her head, not daring to meet Qin Tuo's eyes.
She stammered,
"Qin Tuo, turn around!"
Resigned, Qin Tuo had no choice but to turn away.
Ouyang Feifei quickly and deftly put her clothes on.
When Qin Tuo turned back, Ouyang Feifei was fully dressed, but traces of a deep blush still lingered on her cheeks.
"Qin Tuo, you absolutely cannot tell anyone what happened today!"
Ouyang Feifei urged cautiously.
Qin Tuo nodded and smiled.
"Don't worry, I won't say a word. Should we head back now?"
Ouyang Feifei nodded and followed Qin Tuo out of the Shi City Restaurant.
What Qin Tuo didn't notice, however, was that just as they were leaving, several shifty figures slipped into the room.
These were servants of the Liu Family. They had heard the sounds of the fight but had only dared to watch from a distance, too afraid to approach.
The moment they entered the room and saw Liu Tao's grisly corpse, the color drained from their faces.
"It's over. The Young Master was killed. What are we going to do?"
one of the servants said in a panicked voice.
"What else can we do? We have to go back and report to the Second Master!"
another servant said, utterly dejected.
...
「Capital City, Liu Family Villa.」
A servant rushed hurriedly into the main hall, where he found the Liu Family's Second Master, Liu Zhenghai.
"Second Master, something terrible has happened!"
The moment the servant saw Liu Zhenghai, he dropped to his knees and pressed his forehead to the ground, not daring to look up.
Liu Zhenghai was sipping tea and discussing matters with the old butler who stood beside him, but the servant's frantic entrance ruined the tranquil mood.
Seeing the servant's state, Liu Zhenghai frowned and asked coldly,
"What in the world happened? Get up and speak clearly!"
The servant nodded and got to his feet, his body trembling.
"Second Master, the Young Master… is dead!"
As the words left the servant's mouth, Liu Zhenghai froze. The teacup in his hand slipped from his grasp and shattered on the floor.
"What did you say? Say that again!"
Liu Zhenghai's pupils constricted as he radiated an incomparably icy aura.
The old butler's face turned ashen. His fists were clenched so tightly that his whole body trembled with rage.
After all, Liu Tao was the heir to the current generation of the Liu Family and was deeply doted upon by Patriarch Liu.
Liu Tao's death was a massive blow to the entire Liu Family, a complete loss of face for the great clan.
Suppressing the terror in his heart, the servant recounted everything he had seen and heard at the Shi City Restaurant.
However, the servant only said he had found Liu Tao dead in the room; he hadn't seen with his own eyes who had done the deed.
Still, everyone knew that Liu Tao had brought Tomb Tiger to get revenge on Qin Tuo, so they naturally assumed that Qin Tuo himself had killed him.
After listening to the report, Liu Zhenghai took a deep breath.
Everyone could tell his rage had reached its absolute limit.
Liu Zhenghai suddenly asked, his voice hoarse,
"Are you saying that brat not only killed Tao, but also Tomb Tiger? Is that right? The sheer audacity! Does he think the Liu Family has no one to answer to?"
The servant could only nod again and again, not daring to utter a single word of protest.
In his fury, a berserk aura erupted from Liu Zhenghai, so oppressive it felt like all the air was being sucked out of the hall.
Suddenly, Liu Zhenghai stood up and descended the steps one by one.
He stopped in front of the servant and asked coldly,
"Since the Young Master is dead, why didn't a useless piece of trash like you die with him?"
Hearing these words, the servant began to tremble uncontrollably and fell to his knees again to beg for his life.
"Second Master, spare me! Spare my life!"
But Liu Zhenghai simply shook his head and sneered.
The next moment, he struck the servant dead on the spot with a single palm strike.
Fresh blood splattered across the floor, but Liu Zhenghai's expression was as cold and impassive as a god of slaughter.
The old butler remained seated, not moving a muscle, a look of profound grief still etched on his face.
After killing the servant, Liu Zhenghai muttered to himself,
'Tao, rest easy. I'm going to the Celestial South Province right now to kill that brat and avenge you!'
With that, he prepared to set out for the Celestial South Province himself.
However, the old butler immediately rose to his feet to stop him.
"Second Master, you mustn't be rash!"
Liu Zhenghai frowned, glancing back at the old butler with displeasure.
"Tao is dead. I must avenge him. Do not stand in my way!"
His voice was laced with such potent killing intent that it was clear he wouldn't hesitate to kill the old butler too if he persisted.
The old butler forced himself to suppress his fear and explained,
"Second Master, think about it! How could a brat that young possibly be capable of killing Tomb Tiger? He must have had an expert helping him from the shadows!"
The butler's words were like a bucket of ice water dumped over his head, shocking Liu Zhenghai back to his senses.
Only then did he realize there was indeed something amiss with the situation—a detail he had overlooked in his blind rage.
"Continue."
Liu Zhenghai said, his voice heavy and his face an emotionless mask.
