Return of the Celestial King
Chapter 436: Grandmaster of Magic
Sun Haicheng and the members of the Security Pavilion instantly grew wary.
They all secretly wondered, ’Where on earth did these people come from?’
Zeng Kemeng jumped in fright. She never imagined that this sanctimonious-looking master was actually a cold-blooded killer.
The men who rushed out all exuded a wicked aura, causing the faces of everyone present to turn deathly pale.
The worshippers had already started screaming and scattering in every direction.
But these men paid them no mind; their only goal was to prevent Zeng Kemeng from leaving.
Zeng Kemeng asked, her voice trembling with fear:
"What is the meaning of this?"
The master looked at Zeng Kemeng and laughed smugly.
"Miss Zeng, by order of the Pavilion Master, I have been waiting here for you for a long time!"
Hearing this, Sun Haicheng’s heart sank. He and his men instantly realized these people were indeed from the Blood Moon Pavilion.
He shot a look at his men, and the group of subordinates immediately prepared for a fight.
The color drained from Zeng Kemeng’s face. She trembled with fear and couldn’t help but ask:
"Who are you? How do you know my name?"
The master said gloatingly:
"I’m sure you don’t know this, Miss Zeng, but I am the Third Elder of the Blood Moon Pavilion. I’ve been waiting here today to capture you and trade you for the Old Pavilion Master’s Face Reading Technique!"
Zeng Kemeng was instantly confused. ’What does he mean by that?’
But then it clicked, and she asked, her face a mask of shock:
"The Old Pavilion Master you mentioned... are you talking about my father? What Pavilion Master? Are you lying to me?"
As far as Zeng Kemeng knew, her father’s face reading skills were indeed formidable, but in all these years, she never knew he had another identity.
The Third Elder was taken aback and studied Zeng Kemeng carefully.
When he saw that her expression truly didn’t seem like an act, he realized that Zeng Changkong hadn’t told his daughter anything.
The Third Elder shook his head and said:
"It seems the Old Pavilion Master really told you nothing. But that’s not important. I just need to capture you."
Zeng Kemeng immediately took a few slow steps back, her expression growing incredibly tense.
A vicious glint appeared in the Third Elder’s eyes, and he instantly waved his hand!
"Everyone, seize her!"
"Yes, Third Elder."
The group from the Blood Moon Pavilion started to rush forward to grab Zeng Kemeng.
Although Zeng Kemeng could read faces, she was completely defenseless. How could she possibly fight off this group of experts from the Blood Moon Pavilion?
Just as Zeng Kemeng was about to be caught, Sun Haicheng rushed forward and stood directly in front of her.
The group from the Security Pavilion also took up their positions, staring coldly at the Blood Moon Pavilion’s assassins.
The Third Elder frowned and asked:
"And who are you, kid? I suggest you don’t meddle in business that isn’t yours!"
Zeng Kemeng quickly hid behind Sun Haicheng, her face pale with fright.
Zhu Zifeng also hurried to stand beside Zeng Kemeng to protect her.
Deep down, Zhu Zifeng was silently praying, ’I hope Qin Tuo gets back soon...’
He could tell that the members of the Blood Moon Pavilion were powerful; he suspected Sun Haicheng and his men were no match for them.
In response to the Third Elder’s question, Sun Haicheng snorted coldly and said:
"Listen up! We’re from the Capital City General Security Pavilion, and we’ve come specifically for you from the Blood Moon Pavilion!"
As he spoke, the Security Pavilion members behind him all prepared to strike.
However, a look of disdain crossed the Third Elder’s face. He clearly didn’t see Sun Haicheng and his group as any kind of threat.
"Heh! The Security Pavilion? You dare act so presumptuously on Blood Moon Pavilion territory? What a joke!"
Sun Haicheng was furious. He gritted his teeth and said fiercely:
"You Blood Moon Pavilion fiends! The Security Pavilion is here. Why don’t you just surrender quietly?"
The Third Elder’s eyes, however, were still filled with scorn. He said breezily:
"I’ll give you one chance: surrender now. Otherwise, I’ll make sure you Security Pavilion men never leave this mountain!"
Sun Haicheng was livid. He couldn’t believe that even after he had announced he was from the General Security Pavilion, these Blood Moon Pavilion members still dared to look down on him.
Sun Haicheng spat out a curse.
"Alright, you damn fiend! If that’s how you want it, I’ll show you what I’m made of!"
The moment he finished speaking, Sun Haicheng charged straight at the Third Elder.
The Inner Strength in Sun Haicheng’s body erupted forward, as he tried to pin the Third Elder to the ground.
But the Third Elder didn’t move an inch. He even wore a mocking smile, which only made Sun Haicheng seethe with more fury!
"Go down!"
Sun Haicheng roared, thrusting both fists forward and aiming a brutal blow at the Third Elder’s chest.
But before he could reach him, he saw the Third Elder casually flick two fingers forward.
SWISH! SWISH!
Two streaks of eerie green light shot from his fingertips, quick as lightning, and pierced into Sun Haicheng’s side.
PTHOO...
Caught completely off guard, Sun Haicheng spat out a mouthful of blood and stumbled back several steps.
His face turned pale, and he stared at the Third Elder in utter disbelief.
Just now, the Third Elder had clearly used magic, not Inner Strength.
This meant the Third Elder was a Warlock, and a very powerful one at that.
Seeing this, Zhu Zifeng’s eyes widened, and he couldn’t help but let out a gasp.
"Heavens, that Third Elder has actually reached the level of a Grandmaster of Magic?"
A group of men from the General Security Pavilion rushed to shield Sun Haicheng, their hearts filled with anxiety.
Even Sun Haicheng had been defeated. They began to suspect they might not make it out of this temple alive.
Sun Haicheng was too injured to speak, his heart filled with despair.
The Third Elder, however, just shook his head and said mockingly:
"See? What did I tell you? You Security Pavilion people are useless."
Faced with this ridicule, Sun Haicheng was so furious his eyes became bloodshot, but he was powerless to retort.
Beside him, his teammates lowered their heads in shame, unable to say a word.
And the scene of Sun Haicheng being injured by the Third Elder was the exact bloody calamity that Zeng Kemeng had foretold.
But at this moment, Zeng Kemeng couldn’t dwell on that. She hid fearfully behind Zhu Zifeng, terrified that the members of the Blood Moon Pavilion would capture her and use her to threaten Zeng Changkong.
