Return of the Celestial King
Chapter 501: The Rules of the Capital City
As he spoke, the tall man named Iron Elephant seemed to feel a profound sense of dread himself. His pupils contracted sharply, and his breathing grew ragged and tense.
Qin Tuo, listening from the side, heard everything clearly. He instantly understood that this shadowy, middle-aged man named Jing Feng was so powerful that even Iron Elephant was afraid of him.
The shadowy, middle-aged man named Jing Feng remained expressionless. He gave a slow nod and said:
“That’s right. It was me.”
Hearing his admission, Iron Elephant’s brow furrowed deeply, his expression twisting with resentment.
He had been about to capture Qin Tuo on the spot, but he never expected such a powerful figure to appear at the critical moment and throw a wrench in his plans.
A moment ago, with just a casual wave of his hand, Jing Feng had effortlessly blocked his own powerful technique.
The scene kept replaying in Iron Elephant’s mind…
At that moment, Qin Tuo desperately wanted to ask who this Jing Feng was and why he had suddenly intervened to save him.
But the terrifying pressure emanating from the confrontation between the two men made Qin Tuo understand one thing clearly: in the presence of experts of this caliber, he had no right to speak.
The atmosphere grew tense and heavy.
Iron Elephant stared at Qin Tuo, the frustration in his eyes palpable.
He had been so close to taking Qin Tuo away, only to fail at the last moment.
The thought of the handsome reward he would now never receive made him grit his teeth in hatred.
After a fierce internal struggle, Iron Elephant decided he had no choice but to leave, filled with resentment.
After all, he knew with certainty that he was no match for Jing Feng.
“Don’t worry, I was just having a bit of fun with the kid!”
Iron Elephant said slowly.
With that, he turned to leave.
It was a humiliating retreat, but he had no other choice.
But just as he turned, Jing Feng appeared before him like a phantom, blocking his path with an outstretched arm.
Seeing this, Iron Elephant asked with a puzzled expression:
“Oh? What is the meaning of this, Jing Feng?”
Jing Feng shook his head, a cold smirk playing on his lips as he spoke slowly.
“Iron Elephant, you’re a clever one. Trying to deny what you’ve done. Do you really think you can just walk away today?”
As his words fell, he unleashed an intangible, murderous aura, stirring up a violent gust of wind within the alley.
Caught within this pressure, Qin Tuo felt an immense weight bear down on him.
He could keenly sense that the aura radiating from Jing Feng was far more terrifying than Iron Elephant’s!
Iron Elephant was at once shocked and furious. He gritted his teeth and snarled:
“What! Are you really going to kill me here? Aren’t you afraid of breaking the Capital City’s rules?”
He spoke with utter confidence.
Clearly, Iron Elephant believed he was protected by the rules of the Capital City, and that Jing Feng wouldn’t have the audacity to attack him.
Qin Tuo, standing to the side, tried to puzzle out the meaning behind their exchange.
‘What factions do these two belong to?’
Hearing Iron Elephant’s threat, Jing Feng just gave a disdainful, unconcerned smile and replied:
“You’re mistaken. You were the one who made the first move. So even if I kill you, no one will come quoting the rules to me.”
At these words, Iron Elephant’s eyes flew wide open, and his face turned crimson with rage.
“Damn you, Jing Feng! What are you trying to do?”
But Jing Feng wasted no more words. After speaking, he attacked in an instant.
Jing Feng thrust out his palm, and a powerful surge of Spiritual Power erupted from it, shooting forward like a column of energy!
The power and speed of the attack left the watching Qin Tuo stunned.
He couldn’t help but compare their strengths, realizing with a jolt that his own power was leagues below Jing Feng’s.
‘The Cultivators in the Capital City are terrifyingly strong!’
Qin Tuo was astounded.
Iron Elephant retreated hastily, not daring to face the attack head-on.
But with a wall behind him, there was nowhere left to run!
“Break!”
In a desperate move, Iron Elephant clenched both fists and slammed them down toward the ground.
The punch gouged a massive crater in the pavement!
But in that same instant, Jing Feng vanished.
“Damn it… Where did he go?”
A look of frustration filled Iron Elephant’s eyes as he frantically scanned his surroundings.
He had used a similar move to easily overpower Qin Tuo, but against the mighty Jing Feng, it was nothing more than a parlor trick.
“Heh, I’m right here!”
Jing Feng’s cold chuckle suddenly echoed beside his ear, and then, like a phantom, he reappeared.
THUD!
With a dull thud, Jing Feng stomped his foot down hard on Iron Elephant’s chest.
PUH!
Iron Elephant coughed up a mouthful of blood as his body was sent flying like a broken sack, slamming violently against the alley wall.
“Get up. I know you’re not dead yet.”
Jing Feng strode swiftly toward him.
Iron Elephant lifted his head, a look of pure terror in his eyes.
He wiped the blood from his mouth and, casting aside all other thoughts, turned and fled for his life.
“Heh, trying to run? Do you really think you can get away?”
Jing Feng blurred into motion, his speed like a blinding flash of lightning.
BOOM… BOOM…
A series of thunderous explosions echoed from the distance.
After a few exchanges, Jing Feng smashed Iron Elephant’s head to a pulp with a single punch!
All told, Jing Feng had only made a handful of moves to kill Iron Elephant on the spot.
The whole scene had unfolded in the blink of an eye.
Qin Tuo stood stunned, having just watched Iron Elephant get beaten to death.
It was only now that Qin Tuo truly felt how insignificant he was in the Cultivation Realm.
The power unleashed in a duel between such powerful Cultivators was simply terrifying.
It made Qin Tuo feel like he had been a frog in a well, utterly ignorant of the world.
After killing Iron Elephant, Jing Feng turned and walked back step by step.
Watching Jing Feng approach, Qin Tuo’s mind raced with countless questions.
Jing Feng stopped in front of Qin Tuo, sized him up carefully, then slowly shook his head and sighed.
“Sigh… You’re still too weak. Stay as far away from the Capital City as you can. This is not a place you should be.”
Having given Qin Tuo this piece of advice, Jing Feng prepared to turn and leave.
But Qin Tuo quickly called out to him.
“Senior, please wait…”
