Return of the Celestial King
Chapter 502: Wu Tou
Jing Feng’s back was to Qin Tuo, but he didn’t turn around.
Qin Tuo swallowed hard, steeled himself, and then asked,
“Senior, who exactly are you?”
Jing Feng didn’t say a word, clearly having no intention of answering Qin Tuo’s question.
After a moment of hesitation, Qin Tuo, unwilling to let it go, pressed on.
“And another thing, what kind of place is the Huangfu Family, and what’s my relationship with the Huangfu Clan?”
Qin Tuo felt much better after getting that off his chest.
‘That Iron Elephant made it perfectly clear. Am I really part of the Huangfu Clan?’
This filled Qin Tuo with an even stronger urge to understand his own origins and past.
It was all a giant whirlpool, a tangled mystery, and Qin Tuo couldn’t wait to unravel it.
However, Jing Feng slowly shook his head and said in a strange tone,
“I can’t answer those questions right now. You’ll find out when the time is right.”
Qin Tuo was incredibly frustrated. ‘How can I not demand clear answers when such a perfect opportunity is right in front of me?’
So Qin Tuo shouted at the top of his lungs,
“Senior, if that’s the case, when will you tell me the truth?”
By the time he finished, his voice was already a little hoarse.
Jing Feng seemed a little moved. He glanced at Qin Tuo before slowly responding,
“Once you fulfill your agreement and go to Peach Blossom Island on the fifteenth of the eighth month, all the mysteries will naturally be revealed.”
The words struck Qin Tuo like a bolt of lightning.
BOOM!
An expression of unconcealable shock appeared on his face. ‘This Jing Feng knows way too much, doesn’t he?’
Qin Tuo couldn’t help but ask,
“Who in the world are you? How could you possibly know about the agreement between me and the old lunatic?”
‘As far as I’m concerned, absolutely no one else in the world should know about my agreement with the old lunatic!’
‘So how does Jing Feng know about it so clearly?’
At the mention of the words “the old lunatic,” a flicker of emotion crossed Jing Feng’s eyes.
Before he could reply, his expression suddenly changed. He looked up toward the sky in the distance.
Four figures appeared at the end of the alley. Moving with incredible speed, they closed the distance in an instant and appeared directly in front of the two of them.
Qin Tuo was startled too. ‘They’re unbelievably fast!’
‘I didn’t even see where they came from!’
Qin Tuo also noticed that the four were dressed in identical, strangely styled sets of armor.
When Qin Tuo carefully sensed their presence, his expression changed instantly.
He realized their auras were overwhelmingly powerful. ‘Any one of them is probably several times stronger than Iron Elephant was!’
The thought of four such terrifying figures moving together was enough to send a chill down one’s spine.
Seeing the four armored men arrive, Jing Feng’s expression also grew heavy and cautious.
The four men lined up, their faces expressionless.
The one in the lead, his face a mask of cold indifference, walked forward and stared coldly at Jing Feng.
The tall, armored man slowly demanded,
“Jing Feng, you dare start a fight here in the Capital City? Have you forgotten the rule that Cultivators are forbidden from fighting within its walls?”
Hearing this, Qin Tuo, who was standing nearby, felt his heart skip a beat.
He began to form a vague guess. ‘Are these four responsible for enforcing the rules among the Cultivators of the Capital City?’
‘And who made these rules? Why can’t Cultivators fight each other here?’
Qin Tuo knew he was only seeing the tip of the iceberg; the truth was likely far more complex than he could imagine.
Jing Feng, however, just snorted dismissively. He pointed at Iron Elephant’s corpse on the ground and said,
“He started it. He was the one who broke the rules first. I just fought back and killed him. Wu Tou, you should have seen that clearly enough, right?”
Despite his words, Jing Feng’s voice held a clear note of deep apprehension, and even respect, when addressing Wu Tou.
Qin Tuo couldn’t hide his astonishment. ‘Just what kind of powerful background does this man called Wu Tou have?’ he wondered.
‘Someone as formidable as Jing Feng—who killed Iron Elephant in just a few moves—is being this cautious around Wu Tou!’
Qin Tuo sized up Wu Tou. The man had an air of superiority. ‘Could he be some powerful figure in charge of the Capital City’s Cultivators?’
After speaking, Jing Feng fell silent, quietly awaiting Wu Tou’s judgment.
Wu Tou lowered his eyes, his gaze sweeping over the scene. He didn’t say anything else.
This made it clear that he believed Jing Feng’s words.
However, his face remained expressionless as he slowly said,
“I’ll let it slide this time, but there absolutely cannot be a next. If any commoners were harmed, no one could bear that responsibility. You should know that better than anyone.”
His voice carried the weight of a severe warning!
Hearing this, Jing Feng nodded lightly, a relieved smile appearing on his face.
Clearly, he couldn’t have afforded to bear the blame for such a serious offense.
Just then, Wu Tou couldn’t help but glance slowly at Qin Tuo, a flicker of curiosity in his eyes.
But it vanished in an instant.
But when Qin Tuo felt Wu Tou’s gaze sweep over him, a chill ran down his spine.
It was like being targeted by a wild beast; the hair on his body stood on end against his will.
Then, Wu Tou spoke to one of his subordinates.
“The three of you, clean up the scene. Leave no trace. We don’t want to cause a stir.”
The other three armored men nodded silently and got to work.
Qin Tuo watched as one of them walked slowly over to Iron Elephant’s corpse and crouched down.
Then, the man took out an enormous bag, unfolded it slowly, and aimed it at Iron Elephant’s body on the ground.
At that moment, Qin Tuo had a feeling he was about to witness something utterly incredible.
Sure enough, after the armored man slowly chanted a few words of an incantation, the corpse, lying there in broad daylight, began to dissolve…
It then transformed into a hazy wisp of energy and was sucked into the bag.
Qin Tuo was completely dumbfounded. Such a technique was simply magical—something he had never seen or even heard of before.
But the armored man, having done all this, remained expressionless, as if it were as mundane as eating a meal.
