Reverend Insanity : Blood Path

Chapter 106 Future Plans

“There are still quite a few. Fortunately, most Blood Path Gu feed on blood, so keeping them fed isn’t difficult.” Lin Feng’s attention eventually settled on Blood Tax Gu. “Unfortunately, Blood Tax Gu can only extract benefits from Blood Path Gu Masters. If I could develop a complete killer move around it that worked on every Gu Master, its value would be entirely different.”

Blood Tax Gu was not the end of this line of development either. Lin Feng still had ideas for Blood Loan Gu, Blood Debt Gu, and Blood Pressure Gu, though none had been successfully developed yet.

Thinking about their names, Lin Feng’s expression became somewhat strange.

Why do these sound less like Blood Path Gu and more like Capital Path Gu?

In his previous life, he had hated capital, yet after transmigrating, he had somehow begun using its principles to create Gu.

What does that make me, a capitalist from another world?

After entertaining himself with the thought for a moment, Lin Feng shifted his attention toward the Bone Path Gu within his aperture.

These Gu originated from Grey Bone Scholar’s inheritance. Although it was a complete inheritance, its selection of Gu was not comprehensive enough to cover all six major aspects of a Gu Master’s combat system.

Lin Feng currently possesses Bone Wing Gu, Bone Blood Gu, Battle Bone Carriage Gu, Misaligned Bone Gu, Bone Growth Gu, and Spiral Spear Rain Gu. Among them, Lin Feng also called Bone Growth Gu by another name, Exoskeleton Gu. It could rapidly grow bone and even use the bones of beasts to construct external bone armor.

Although Lin Feng had devoted most of his effort to Blood Path, he had never neglected Bone Path. His attainment naturally could not compare with an old monster like Bone Demon Lord, but among Gu Masters of the same rank, his understanding was already considerable.

More importantly, Lin Feng had gradually developed his own ideas concerning the future direction of both paths.

For the Blood Path, he wanted to move toward the Human Path.

For the Bone Path, he wanted to move toward the Transformation Path.

Beast Kings possessed abilities far beyond those of ordinary beasts. Hundred Beast Kings, Thousand Beast Kings, Myriad Beast Kings, and even higher existences each possessed increasingly extraordinary bodies and innate abilities.

If those innate abilities could somehow be preserved within their skeletons, then could a Gu Master wearing an exoskeleton made from those bones indirectly reproduce those abilities?

Lin Feng could not yet give a definite answer. But he had been experimenting with the idea for quite some time.

After examining his Gu, Lin Feng finally turned his attention back to himself.

Examining one’s methods was important, but examining oneself was even more important.

What was his current state of mind? What was his present situation?

And most importantly, what should he do next?

In terms of experience and mental maturity, I’m definitely no match for Fang Yuan. That old demon has lived for more than five hundred years, far longer than me. Even after adding together both of my lives, I haven’t lived for a hundred years.

Still, compared to Ma Hong Yun, who seemed determined to court disaster at every opportunity, or unlucky transmigrators like Peng Da, Lin Feng felt that he was doing fairly well.

However, he had one fatal weakness. He was not alone.

Lin Zhiyao, his older sister, was his only family in this world. If an enemy discovered how much he valued her, they could easily use her against him. Lin Feng understood this perfectly, yet there was no simple solution. He could hardly eliminate his own sister merely to remove a weakness.

As for his current situation, Qing Mao Mountain had become far more dangerous than he had originally expected. The Rank Five first-generation Gu Yue was hiding somewhere beneath the mountain, while Heaven’s Will and the Venerables behind Fang Yuan could interfere from the shadows. Lin Feng had already experienced firsthand what could happen when he tried to force matters.

Even so, he was not without confidence. The newly obtained Rank Four Breath Concealment Gu could hide his aura and cultivation, while Blood Escape, the movement killer move recorded within Blood and Sweat True Inheritance, gave him an excellent means of retreat. If the first-generation Gu Yue really came after him, Lin Feng might not be able to defeat the old monster yet, but escaping should not be difficult.

Since I can’t deal with Fang Yuan for the time being, I’ll focus on strengthening myself.

Lin Feng remembered that somewhere near Huang Long River was a hidden Rank Five inheritance. In the original course of events, it had been discovered entirely by chance by a farmer’s wife named Chen Cui hua.

Among the inheritance’s treasures was the Rank Five Midnight Gu. If Lin Feng remembered correctly, there was a high possibility that the inheritance itself belonged to Time Path.

More importantly, Chen Cui hua had managed to advance to Rank Two within a remarkably short period after obtaining it. This alone showed that the inheritance was of considerable quality. Unfortunately, its inheritor had been incapable of properly maintaining it, causing many of the Gu to eventually starve to death.

Such an inheritance falling into Chen Cuihua’s hands was simply a waste. Lin Feng naturally could not allow such a tragedy to occur.

Afterward, he could find an opportunity to exchange portions of Blood Sea Ancestor’s inheritance with Shang Yan fei. With his connection to Zhang Xinci, establishing contact should not be particularly difficult. The real problem was that Lin Feng first needed enough strength and status to negotiate with a Rank Five peak stage Gu Master on relatively equal terms.

After that came Northern Plains.
