Reverend Insanity: Dream Gu

Chapter 272: Twenty Four Immortal Gu

  • Next Chapter

After understanding the entire inheritance, Lin Yan turned toward the seven lightning-fire true dragons still coiled around the purple-red gate. A faint smile appeared on his face. Since he had already found the inheritance, there was naturally no reason to leave any part of it behind.

Rumble!

Lin Yan unleashed his full strength. More than sixty thousand Flame Path dao marks amplified his killer moves, causing their power to soar. The seven lightning-fire true dragons immediately awakened and rushed from the gate, filling the cave with violent flames and lightning.

Each possessed strength comparable to an Ancient Desolate Beast and tremendous resistance against Flame Path Immortal Killer Move, but that resistance meant little before Lin Yan’s current foundation. Raging Flames Engulfing the Body and Myriad Flames Return to Origin were activated one after another, continuously stripping away and refining the flames that maintained their bodies. The dragons struggled fiercely, yet one after another they weakened and collapsed, revealing the treasures hidden within them.

In the end, Lin Yan obtained four more Immortal Gu: Rank Seven Fire Thunder Immortal Gu, Rank Seven Fire Calamity Immortal Gu, Rank Seven Nine Dragons Lightning Flame Immortal Gu, and Rank Six Thunder Vein Immortal Gu.

Together with the Rank Six Fire Star Immortal Gu he had obtained earlier, Fire Thunder Divine Lord’s true inheritance contained five Immortal Gu in total. The remaining three portions contained Rank Eight white litchi immortal essence, a large reserve of immortal essence stones, and the immortal materials Fire Thunder Divine Lord had preserved before his death.

Three of the five Immortal Gu had yet to fall to Rank Six, which meant the inheritance had not existed long enough for the reverse-refinement process to reduce them further. Unfortunately, Fire Thunder Immortal Gu had already fallen from Rank Eight to Rank Seven. Lin Yan had originally hoped that this inheritance might finally give him his first Rank Eight Immortal Gu.

Still, five Immortal Gu from a single true inheritance was already an enormous gains. What pleased Lin Yan even more was that Flame Sovereign Blessed Land could satisfy the feeding requirements of all five.

This was much more convenient than the Immortal Gu he had obtained from the Formation Path and Wisdom Path true inheritances. Several of those Gu still relied on resource points and feeding arrangements left behind by their former owners. Lin Yan could maintain them for now, but replacing those arrangements himself would require considerable time and resources.

Fire Thunder Immortal Gu was different. It consumed two types of Rank Seven immortal materials, one produced by Sunflame Valley and the other by Divine Firmament Thunder Pool. Both giant resource points were already firmly established within Flame Sovereign Blessed Land, so feeding it required no additional preparation.

Nine Dragons Lightning Flame Immortal Gu and Fire Calamity Immortal Gu were even more suitable for him, as both belonged to the Otherworldly Flame series. The former normally fed on the flesh and blood of Ancient Thunder Dragons and Ancient Fire Dragons, while the latter required Endless Tribulation Fire Wood. Either requirement would have been troublesome for an ordinary Gu Immortal, but Lin Yan had spent years constructing Endless Fire Domain precisely to solve problems like this.

Although Endless Fire Domain was still incomplete, its existing layers could already gather, transform, and circulate numerous kinds of Otherworldly Flames. By adjusting the environments within the domain and using the corresponding flames, Lin Yan could produce substitutes carrying the required properties instead of constantly searching the outside world for the original food.

This was one of the greatest benefits of Endless Fire Domain. Lin Yan intended to refine many different Otherworldly Flame Immortal Gu in the future, and each would normally require rare and troublesome food. Without a stable method of feeding them, merely possessing their recipes would be useless. As Endless Fire Domain continued to develop, that restriction would slowly disappear.

It was especially important because Lin Yan’s Flame Path combat system relied heavily on the number and variety of Otherworldly Flames under his control. Fire Thunder Divine Lord himself had already demonstrated how powerful such a path could become. With two Otherworldly Flame Immortal Gu supporting his methods, he possessed outstanding battle strength.

Lin Yan had gathered many types of Otherworldly Flames Gu since his Immortal Ascension, but the difficulty of feeding their corresponding Immortal Gu had always made him cautious about refining them. There Flavour Otherworldly Flame Immortal Gu remained the only Otherworldly Flame Immortal Gu he had possessed until now. As a result, killer moves such as Mystic Sun Myriad Flames Great Handprint had never been able to display the strength Lin Yan originally envisioned for them.

Now, that limitation was gradually disappearing. Thunder Vein Immortal Gu and Fire Star Immortal Gu were easier to handle. Flame Sovereign Blessed Land already contained more than hundred Immortal grade resource points, including numerous Flame Path and Thunder Path environments along with several resources related to Star Path. Lin Yan could gather their food from what he already possessed without constructing additional resource points solely for them.

The more Lin Yan examined his gains, the more suitable Fire Thunder Divine Lord’s inheritance appeared. Both of them cultivated Flame Path primarily while possessing considerable attainment in Thunder Path. The Immortal Gu, killer moves, cultivation experiences, and even the resource-management methods within the inheritance could all be incorporated into Lin Yan’s existing combat system.

Once he thoroughly studied Fire Thunder Divine Lord’s methods and rebuilt his own killer moves around the newly obtained Immortal Gu, his combat strength would increase considerably.

With these five additions, Lin Yan now possessed twenty-four Immortal Gu.
