Richest Rag-picker

Chapter 299 - 298: Time Management

Chapter 299: Chapter 298: Time Management

He went back, changed into a clean pair of pants, and tossed the soiled ones into the washing machine before returning to the study.

Looking at the small puddle of water on the seat, Fang Chenyi couldn’t help but exclaim:

"Man, you gotta love these genuine leather seats!"

Shaking his head, he wiped the chair clean with a paper towel and then took out the massive stack of design blueprints again.

Now that he was taking a closer look, he realized that a very thick portion of the stack was the detailed design plans for those nine buildings. For the record, these blueprints weren’t A4 size; each sheet was as large as eight A4 pages combined.

After looking them over, Fang Chenyi couldn’t help but marvel at how powerful the system was.

The plans meticulously detailed the construction methods for each tower. Not only that, but the smaller buildings surrounding each tower weren’t built for no reason; they all had a purpose.

Countless clusters of buildings surrounded the eight Planet Towers, forming a special windbreak network. According to the blueprint’s explanation, these buildings would convert wind energy from any direction during a hurricane, ultimately acting like a giant, invisible hand to steadily support the eight Planet Towers.

And these eight Planet Towers, just like the surrounding building clusters, would firmly support the main, 1,036-meter-tall tower in the center.

Of course, Fang Chenyi was certain that no designer in the entire world could come up with such technology today.

He carefully sorted the blueprints one by one, placing each Planet Tower’s plan with its corresponding building cluster. Soon, nine sets of blueprints were laid out on the desk.

Through the process of sorting the plans, Fang Chenyi realized that there were far more blueprints than he had initially guessed.

After arranging the blueprints, Fang Chenyi used the printer in his study to make over a dozen copies of the main overhead view.

Once he’d finished, Fang Chenyi let out a long sigh of relief, then pulled out his phone and dialed Wei Yilong.

BEEP... BEEP... BEEP...

The phone rang for a long time before it was answered. Fang Chenyi couldn’t help but complain grumpily the moment the call connected:

"What the hell, man? What were you doing? It took you forever to pick up."

As soon as Fang Chenyi finished speaking, Wei Yilong on the other end of the line practically exploded:

"What the hell, Boss! You’re calling me in the middle of the night! You’re lucky I even answered! Boss, do you have any idea what time it is? It’s after three in the morning!"

Hearing this, Fang Chenyi glanced at his watch and felt a little awkward. He’d come back and... done *that* with Menghan for nearly four hours, and then he’d spent another three or four hours organizing the blueprints. He really hadn’t been paying attention to the time.

But as the boss, he couldn’t very well admit he was wrong. So, he continued, feigning a self-righteous tone:

"It’s only three o’clock and you’re already sleeping? What am I going to do with you? You’re wasting precious time! You have zero time management skills! Anyway, just one thing: the blueprints are ready. Come pick them up tomorrow. That’s all, bye!"

BEEP. BEEP. BEEP.

Listening to the dial tone, Wei Yilong, who was still tucked in bed, was completely baffled. ’What the hell was that? Is it not normal for me to be asleep at three in the morning?’

He blinked, his face a mask of utter confusion.

Just then, Su Tantan, who had been woken by the noise, mumbled drowsily from beside him:

"Why aren’t you sleeping in the middle of the night... What’s going on...?"

The call from Fang Chenyi had woken him up completely. Looking at the groggy Su Tantan beside him, Wei Yilong suddenly recalled what his boss had said and thought to himself, ’He’s right. I’m terrible at time management. Sleeping now is a total waste of life.’

At that thought, a wicked grin spread across his face. He nudged Su Tantan beside him. The night was long, and it shouldn’t be wasted.

Back on his end, Fang Chenyi felt a little awkward after hanging up.

He’d completely forgotten to check the time. Waking someone up in the middle of the night really wasn’t cool.

With that thought, a wave of sleepiness washed over him. He stretched, stood up, and headed for the bedroom.

「The next morning」, Fang Chenyi, sporting a pair of dark circles under his eyes, was jolted awake by his ringing phone.

He picked it up and saw it was from that bastard Wei Yilong. He glanced at the time: 5:15 AM!

In that instant, Fang Chenyi felt the urge to murder Wei Yilong.

He answered the phone irritably and, before Wei Yilong could even speak, snapped:

"Wei Yilong, you son of a bitch! Why the hell are you calling me at the crack of dawn instead of sleeping?!"

After getting the call from Fang Chenyi, Wei Yilong took the ’don’t waste time’ advice to heart. An energetic half-hour later, he was too excited to go back to sleep. He saw it was already past 4:00 AM, so he got up, dressed, and washed up. By the time he was done, it was almost 4:50 AM, and he was in his car heading for Fang Chenyi’s villa.

When he reached the entrance to the villa community, the new security guard didn’t recognize him, so he had no choice but to call Fang Chenyi.

"Heh heh, Boss, still sleeping at the crack of dawn? Isn’t that a waste of time? Tsk, tsk, Boss, I’m starting to think you have zero time management skills!"

Hearing those familiar words, Fang Chenyi rolled his eyes in annoyance.

"Do you have something to say or not? Spit it out or I’m hanging up."

Fang Chenyi had only been asleep for less than two hours and was at his drowsiest. Without even opening his eyes, he snapped impatiently into the phone.

On the other end, Wei Yilong chuckled and thought to himself, ’Heh heh, that’ll teach you to call me in the middle of the night. Now you know how it feels.’

Of course, he only dared to think that, not say it out loud. Hearing Fang Chenyi’s impatient voice, he quickly got to the point:

"Heh heh, of course I have a reason! Boss, you told me to come get the blueprints, right? Well, I’m at the gate, and the new security guard won’t let me in."

Hearing that, Fang Chenyi was taken aback for a moment. But then he remembered this guy hadn’t stayed over in nearly a month, and with Qi Xiaotian not around, it was normal for the guard not to recognize him.

So, he had Wei Yilong hand the phone to the security guard, said a few words, and then hung up.

Resigned, he groggily sat up, threw on the tank top and shorts lying beside him, and shuffled sleepily toward the study.

Reaching the study, he grabbed one of the overhead views he had printed last night and headed downstairs.

Just as he got to the bottom of the stairs, he heard the front door open.

Thanks to the powerful security system, Fang Chenyi’s villa door was always unlocked. After all, the only people who would drop by were either his parents or Bai Menghan’s.

After the sound of the door opening, that guy Wei Yilong walked in with a grin.
