Chapter 298 - 297: The Technical Personnel Problem is Solved

Chapter 298: Chapter 297: The Technical Personnel Problem is Solved

A project of this magnitude would require an immense number of personnel once construction began. The nine main skyscrapers, in particular, would need professional supervision at all times.

The elderly professor before him was arguably the leading figure among Huaxia’s architectural designers.

Not only that, but nearly 60% of Huaxia’s renowned architects and engineers were his former students. Dean Liu of Yan University, for example, had also studied under him.

If he could get Professor Wu’s help, he was confident that personnel wouldn’t be an issue.

Of course, Fang Chenyi didn’t need Professor Wu’s students to help with the design work; rather, he hoped they could stay on to help with on-site supervision and guidance.

After hearing Fang Chenyi out, Professor Wu pondered for a moment before speaking:

"How about this, Xiaofang. I have an idea. I’m currently mentoring a group of graduate students who are about to graduate soon. I can arrange for them to come here for an internship. Of course, while they can’t work on those nine towers, they would be fine handling the rest of the project."

After a brief pause, Professor Wu continued:

"As for those nine towers, I can move my classroom here. That way, I can provide instruction and give on-site lectures to the graduate students. You’ll need to arrange the space for the classroom, of course. I can also help you contact some of the most famous designers in the country, but they certainly won’t come for free."

Hearing Professor Wu’s words, Fang Chenyi was overjoyed. This would solve a part of his problem.

Of course, Fang Chenyi also understood the underlying meaning in Professor Wu’s words. Just like Ouyang Jun, he wanted a place of his own within the industrial park.

’After all, the entire construction project will take at least five or six years. By then, could I really ask Professor Wu to move out? Impossible.’

He had to admit, Professor Wu had the same long-term vision as Ouyang Jun. If his high-tech park was truly completed, it would become one of the most important places in Huaxia, on par with even first-tier megacities like Shenzhen and Shanghai.

In any case, a part of the problem was solved, and in exchange, Professor Wu’s small request was hardly worth mentioning. Thus, Fang Chenyi agreed with a nod, without a moment’s hesitation.

Just then, Dean Liu, who was standing to the side, suddenly interjected:

"Um, Chairman Fang, Professor Wu, could we also get involved? We could have our Yan University School of Design conduct on-site teaching here and also take responsibility for some of the smaller projects."

Hearing this, Fang Chenyi was momentarily stunned, but he quickly understood. It seemed Dean Liu had also seen the potential here.

For Fang Chenyi, however, this was certainly not a problem.

A university teaching base—he would be more than happy to bring in a project like that.

Suddenly, an idea sparked in his mind: have all the "Double First-Class" universities establish their own teaching bases here. And not just for architecture, but for all fields.

After all, this place would eventually involve every high-tech industry. This way, students from major universities would have excellent internship locations, and the companies would, in turn, have a strong reserve of talent.

In other words, if this idea truly succeeded, then in a few decades, this place could very well become the commercial center of all of Huaxia!

At this thought, Fang Chenyi smiled and nodded at Dean Liu.

"It would be wonderful if you could bring your students over, Dean Liu. I’d welcome you with open arms."

The group spent the entire afternoon discussing matters concerning the high-tech commercial park. That evening, they had dinner together again in a private room before parting ways. As for Professor Wu, Fang Chenyi didn’t arrange for him to stay at a hotel but instead took him directly to his own villa complex, which was much more convenient.

Back at the villa, after a quick shower, Fang Chenyi found a moment to place the large stack of design blueprints on his own desk in the study.

It should be noted that because Bai Menghan was now in charge of all the companies’ affairs, the large desk had already been commandeered by her.

So, Fang Chenyi had Qi Xiaotian and the others move another large desk from a study in one of the other villas, placing it opposite the original one. Fortunately, the study was large enough that it still felt spacious even with two large desks inside.

Of course, having these two large desks here also made certain things more convenient. Like right now, for example.

On the two wide desks, everything had been shoved to one side. On the other, a martial duel was currently unfolding.

Fortunately, both desks were made of solid wood and their quality was impeccable; otherwise, they really wouldn’t have been able to withstand three hours of fighting each time.

Three hours later, Bai Menghan was finally defeated due to a lack of stamina. Looking at Bai Menghan, whom he had fought until she was drenched in fragrant sweat, Fang Chenyi revealed a triumphant smile. ’My martial arts are peerless. How could a mere woman possibly compare?’

However, he was a true man, and a true man takes responsibility for his actions. Having "injured" her so badly, he couldn’t just ignore it. And so, he inspected her "wound" and began to clean the fluid that flowed from it. His touch seemed to brush against the injury, instantly drawing a pained cry from Bai Menghan.

This startled Fang Chenyi, making his hand tremble, which in turn caused another pained cry to escape Bai Menghan’s lips.

Hearing her incessant cries of pain, Fang Chenyi was once again "enraged":

"You audacious woman! I’m kindly helping you clean your wound, yet you cry out again and again. It seems I haven’t completely subdued you yet!"

And so, another great battle ensued.

Fortunately, this time, mindful that his opponent was "injured," Fang Chenyi ended the fight after half an hour. He scooped up Bai Menghan, who had collapsed onto the desk, carried her to the bathroom to help her wash her "wound," and then finally brought her to the bed.

He pulled the covers over her, tucked her in gently, and then picked up the remote to raise the room temperature by a degree, lest she catch a chill from the cool air after sweating so much.

After taking care of everything, he finally made his way back to the study.

Looking at the utter mess on the desk, Fang Chenyi couldn’t help but smile wryly. ’The thrill of the fight is one thing, but cleaning up the aftermath is a real pain...’

"Sigh, I guess it’s best not to put anything on this desk from now on."

Heaving a helpless sigh, he began to tidy up the desk.

It took him a good ten-plus minutes to properly organize the documents on both desks. But when he sat down in his chair, he let out another wry smile.

"Sigh... time to wash my pants again..."
