Chapter 870: A Date with the Girl
Chapter 870: Chapter 870: A Date with the Girl
"Dr. Yang, where are we going today?"
She tilted her head and asked, her beautiful eyes filled with anticipation.
"Where do you want to go?"
Yang Cheng asked with a smile.
"I want to go shopping for clothes. I’ve never bought clothes myself before; my dad used to have them sent to our home."
Jiang Yu said, somewhat embarrassed.
"Alright, let’s go shopping."
Yang Cheng readily agreed.
They drove to Linzhou’s busiest commercial street, which was even livelier than yesterday, bustling with people and lined with shops.
As soon as Jiang Yu got out of the car, she seemed like a bird freed from its cage, excitedly running around the street, looking here and touching there, her eyes filled with curiosity.
"Dr. Yang, look at this! It’s so beautiful!"
She pointed to a red dress in a clothing store’s window, her eyes sparkling.
"Just call me Brother Cen. It’s a bit strange to keep calling me Dr. Yang. If you like this dress, go in and try it on."
Yang Cheng said with a smile.
"Brother Cen, maybe let’s forget it. I’ve been ill for so long, I’ve become ugly, and nothing looks good on me."
Jiang Yu said, feeling a bit down.
"Who says that? You’re so pretty, everything looks good on you."
Yang Cheng took her hand and led her into the store.
The store staff greeted them warmly, "Welcome, sir and miss. What would you like to see?"
"Take down that red dress and let her try it."
Yang Cheng pointed at the dress in the window.
"Alright, sir, you have good taste. This is a new model in our store, limited edition, the only one in all of Linzhou."
The staff spoke as she took down the dress and handed it to Jiang Yu, "Miss, the fitting rooms are that way."
Jiang Yu took the dress and looked at Yang Cheng with a bit of nervousness.
"Go ahead, I’ll wait outside."
Yang Cheng encouraged her.
Jiang Yu took a deep breath and walked into the fitting room.
A moment later, the fitting room door opened.
Jiang Yu walked out, and Yang Cheng looked up, instantly stunned.
The red dress fit her perfectly, outlining a graceful figure. The hem reached just her knees, revealing a section of fair, slender calf, and the V-neck exposed a delicate collarbone and a small area of fair skin, with a thin belt around her waist accentuating her slender silhouette.
Her long hair fell on her shoulders, her cheeks slightly red, like a budding red rose, too beautiful to look away.
The girl was too thin, making one feel sympathy; a bit more weight would surely make her overwhelmingly beautiful.
"Chen, does it look good?"
Jiang Yu asked softly, her head lowered with a bit of shyness.
"It looks great; this dress seems made just for you."
Yang Cheng genuinely admired.
Jiang Yu’s face turned redder, but the corners of her mouth couldn’t help but lift slightly.
"Are there other styles? Let’s try some more."
Yang Cheng turned to the store staff.
"Yes, yes, there are a few more designs that suit this lady well."
The staff hurriedly brought out several more dresses.
Jiang Yu tried them one by one, and Yang Cheng observed each one, each making his eyes light up.
The girl’s petite physique was offset by delicate features and an elegant demeanor, making her look good in everything, truly like a mannequin.
"Wrap them all up."
Yang Cheng waved his hand, addressing the store staff.
"Sir, do you want all of these?"
The staff asked with some surprise, confirming once more.
"Yes, all of them. I’ll pay with card."
Yang Cheng nodded.
"Chen, it’s too many; I can’t wear them all."
Jiang Yu quickly waved her hands; she liked all the dresses but felt bad about Yang Cheng spending so much money.
"Wear them slowly, one per day. You’ll get through them all."
Yang Cheng said with a smile, handing a card to the staff.
The staff took the card, smiling broadly, and hurried to pack and check out.
Jiang Yu stood aside, watching Yang Cheng’s back as he paid, her delicate face filled with sweetness.
Throughout her life, her father had also bought her many things, but he never accompanied her to try each one patiently and then bought them without hesitation.
This feeling was different from what her father had given.
"Alright, let’s go."
Yang Cheng took the packaged clothes, held one shopping bag in one hand, and took Jiang Yu’s hand to leave the clothing store.
They strolled for a while longer, until Jiang Yu stopped in front of an accessory shop, her gaze fixed on a light blue hair clip.
The hair clip had a simple design with a few rhinestones, sparkling under the sunlight.
"Do you like it?"
Yang Cheng asked.
Jiang Yu nodded, "When I was little, Mom bought me a similar hair clip. After I got sick, I never wore it again."
Yang Cheng’s heart softened, and he entered the store, bought the hair clip, and gently placed it in Jiang Yu’s hair.
The light blue hair clip contrasted beautifully with her dark hair.
"Looks lovely."
He said softly.
Jiang Yu looked up at Yang Cheng’s gentle eyes, her eyes suddenly feeling warm.
Yang Cheng didn’t notice her expression and smiled, "Let’s go to the amusement park."
Upon hearing this, Jiang Yu’s eyes instantly lit up; she had always wanted to go but hadn’t had the chance due to her health.
"Can I go to the amusement park?"
"Of course, but you can’t do anything too intense. The carousel and the Ferris wheel are fine."
Yang Cheng laughed and guided her into the car.
The amusement park was in Linzhou City East and was about a half-hour drive away.
Being a weekend, the amusement park was bustling, filled with children’s laughter everywhere.
As soon as Jiang Yu got out of the car, she was amazed by the scene before her.
The towering Ferris wheel, speeding roller coasters, and carousel—scenes she’d only seen on TV, never experienced for real.
Seeing her focus on the roller coaster, Yang Cheng reminded her, "That’s too thrilling; you can’t go on it now. When you’re better, I’ll bring you to try."
"Alright, pinky swear!"
Jiang Yu extended her pinky finger.
Yang Cheng hesitated briefly, then chuckled and extended his pinky, hooking it with hers.
They wandered around the amusement park, Jiang Yu like a child, trying every ride she could.
Yang Cheng followed her, buying tickets, carrying bags, taking photos, busy yet cheerful.
"Chen, I want ice cream!"
Jiang Yu pointed at an ice cream stand, her eyes sparkling.
"Alright, I’ll get you one."
Yang Cheng went over and bought a strawberry ice cream, handing it to her.
Jiang Yu took the ice cream, took a bite, and blissfully narrowed her eyes, then lifted her hand to offer the ice cream to Yang Cheng, "Try it too."
Seeing her expectant gaze, Yang Cheng leaned down and took a bite, coincidentally at the spot she had bitten.
Jiang Yu’s face flushed, and she continued eating the ice cream with her head down, her heart racing.
After taking a few more steps, she pointed at a vendor with a large bunch of balloons in his hand, "Chen, those balloons are so pretty; I want one."
