Chapter 871: Chapter 871: You Still Don’t Understand Women

Yang Cheng walked over, bought a pink heart-shaped balloon, tied the string to Jiang Yu’s wrist, "With this tied, it won’t get lost."

Jiang Yu raised her wrist, watching the pink balloon gently sway in the breeze, and couldn’t help but smile slightly.

Time flew by quickly, and it was suddenly afternoon.

Jiang Yu had been playing most of the day, and although she was very enthusiastic, her body was still weak and she gradually began to struggle.

Her steps started to slow down, beads of sweat appeared on her forehead, and her face turned a bit pale.

"Tired? Let’s go back."

Yang Cheng noticed her condition and said softly.

"I’m not tired, I still want to play for a while longer."

Jiang Yu shook her head, her voice full of reluctance, not wanting to end her time with Yang Cheng so soon.

"Be good, your body hasn’t fully recovered, you can’t exert yourself too much. Once you’re better, I’ll bring you back here again."

Yang Cheng gently persuaded.

Jiang Yu bit her lip, and eventually nodded.

As they headed towards the parking lot, Jiang Yu’s body felt heavier and her steps slowed further, almost dragging her legs as she walked.

Yang Cheng watched her tired yet stubborn appearance, his heart softening, and he crouched down, "Come on, I’ll carry you."

Jiang Yu paused for a moment, then obediently lay on Yang Cheng’s back.

His back was broad and warm, like a solid mountain, giving her an immense sense of security.

Jiang Yu buried her face in Yang Cheng’s shoulder, smelling the faint scent of herbs and sunshine on him, her heart racing and her cheeks flushed red.

From the first moment she saw him, she knew that he was different from others.

He saved her life, gave her hope to live, and now he accompanied her shopping, dining, to amusement parks, fulfilling all her wishes.

How could she not like such a man?

"Brother Cheng, I think I might be falling for you."

Jiang Yu said silently in her heart, not daring to say it out loud.

She was afraid, afraid that saying it would make her lose even this gentleness.

At least for now, she could still lie on his back, feel his warmth, hear his voice, and that was enough.

Yang Cheng carried Jiang Yu to the parking lot, carefully placing her in the passenger seat and fastening the seatbelt.

Jiang Yu was really tired, and soon after leaning against the seat, she fell asleep.

Her mouth slightly curved up, a gentle smile on her face, as if she were having a sweet dream.

Yang Cheng started the car and slowly drove out of the amusement park, heading towards the Jiang family’s home.

The entire way, he drove slowly, afraid of waking Jiang Yu from any bumps.

More than half an hour later, the car stopped in front of the Jiang family gates, but Jiang Yu was still asleep, breathing evenly, deep in slumber.

Yang Cheng didn’t wake her up but gently carried her out of the car.

Her body was very light, almost weightless, resting in Yang Cheng’s arms like a lazy kitten.

Feeling the warmth, she instinctively snuggled closer, finding a comfortable position, and continued to sleep deeply.

Yang Cheng looked down at her, seeing her long lashes curled up like two small fans, casting a faint shadow under her eyes, her nose small and high, and her lips pink, like a ripe cherry.

He looked away, carrying her through the Jiang family’s front door.

In the yard, Feng Jiuge was sitting in the pavilion drinking tea. Seeing Yang Cheng carrying Jiang Yu inside, she hurriedly asked, "What happened?"

"She’s asleep."

Yang Cheng spoke softly, carrying Jiang Yu to her room, placing her on the bed, and pulling the covers over her.

Just outside the door, he saw Feng Jiuge leaning against the corridor pillar, arms crossed, looking at Yang Cheng with a slightly sour tone, "Did you have fun?"

"Jealous?"

Yang Cheng walked to her side, putting his arm around her shoulders.

"Who’s jealous?"

Feng Jiuge rolled her eyes at him, but didn’t push him away either, "I just think, you’re too nice to that girl, and at this rate, she’s going to fall for you."

"I can tell, the way she looks at you is different, that’s not how a patient looks at a doctor, it’s how a woman looks at her beloved."

Yang Cheng chuckled, "You’re overthinking. She’s still young and has just recovered from a major illness. It’s normal for her to rely on me a bit. When she’s better and meets more people, things will naturally change."

"You still don’t understand women."

Feng Jiuge huffed softly, twisting her waist as she headed back to her room.

At dinner, Jiang Yu finally woke up with a particularly good appetite and for the first time, she ate a lot.

Jiang Heping sat by, watching his daughter eat heartily, unable to hide his joy.

It had been a long time since he saw his daughter so enthusiastic about food.

"Yu, eat slowly, don’t choke."

He said softly, his eyes full of relief.

"Dad, I went to the amusement park with Brother Cheng today. I even rode the carousel, it was really fun. Dr. Yang bought me ice cream and balloons, and lots of clothes."

Jiang Yu spoke animatedly as she ate, her face radiant with happiness.

Hearing this, Jiang Heping felt both gratified and a bit bittersweet.

Grateful that his daughter was finally enjoying herself like a normal child, but sad that she was only experiencing such childhood pleasures now.

After dinner, Yang Cheng brewed another bowl of medicine for Jiang Yu and brought it to her room.

This time, Jiang Yu didn’t frown, instead, she drank it in one go.

"A good medicine is bitter, but once you’re used to it, it doesn’t taste bitter anymore."

She said with a smile, taking the preserved fruit Yang Cheng handed her and putting it into her mouth.

"Not bad, improving."

Yang Cheng praised with a smile and then took out the silver needle to perform acupuncture on her.

As the silver needle entered the acupoint, a warm sensation flowed into her body through the needle, making Jiang Yu squint comfortably, letting out a soft hum.

The sound was soft and lazy, like a cat being stroked.

Yang Cheng focused intently, slowly injecting True Qi into her body to suppress the restless Rabbit Source Qi.

A moment later, he retracted the needle and stood up, Jiang Yu’s complexion visibly improved, with a faint blush on her cheeks, no longer pale as before.

"Brother Cheng, is my body much better now? Can we go out again tomorrow?"

Jiang Yu asked expectantly, her bright eyes shining.

"Of course, where do you want to go?"

"I... I don’t know, as long as I’m with Brother Cheng, anywhere is fine."

Jiang Yu said softly, her cheeks turning pink.

Yang Cheng looked at her, his heart softening, and smiled, "Alright, we’ll discuss it tomorrow."

They chatted a little longer until Feng Jiuge came and knocked on the door.

"Yang Cheng, it’s late, let Miss Jiang rest."

"Got it."

Yang Cheng stood up and said to Jiang Yu: "Rest early, see you tomorrow."

"See you tomorrow."

Jiang Yu nodded reluctantly.

Yang Cheng and Feng Jiuge walked out of the room, closing the door behind them.

They returned to the guest room in the east wing, and Feng Jiuge, instead of returning to her own room, followed Yang Cheng into his room.
