Chapter 1150: Chapter 1138: Analysis (4)

"Yeah! When you really think about it, who would want to do these things? Do you think it could be someone from the government?" Li Zhong’s words hit the nail on the head of what Tang Xiaoquan was thinking.

Tang Xiaoquan nodded emphatically: "It’s hard enough for ordinary people to survive, they wouldn’t consider doing something so complicated. Only someone with official background might have the capability."

"In that case, we should go to WH City and investigate properly. If we can contact those people, then we..." Li Guo seemed to envision a promising scenario, and his face immediately lit up with excitement.

Tang Xiaoquan didn’t respond to this. He continued fiddling with his bangs and then replied: "This is still just our speculation for now. Our primary task is to build our home. As for whether there are any government people in WH, we can consider investigating it when we have time."

"That’s right! Xiaotang is right! You have to be strong yourself! No matter what others are doing, as long as we build our base, we’ll be able to survive."

Destiny is only truly in your hands, and that’s the most important thing.

This is the fundamental rule of survival, a realization that survivors have come to after enduring many hardships.

Having help from the government is certainly good, but in the apocalypse, zombies don’t care whether you’re part of the government or a civilian, they treat everyone the same, and they won’t flatter you because you have an official title. To these undead, all living humans have one synonym, what is it? Food!

Since we’re all just food, following the government doesn’t guaranteed a way out.

Though the government can provide necessary security and food.

But at the same time, as more people join, it inevitably becomes the main target for zombies.

Moreover, in the apocalypse, with moral and legal order collapsing, there’s a lack of basic trust between people, just like in the previous Yuhuan Gymnasium incident, you can’t guarantee that among the survivor teams, there isn’t someone like Dai Sha who craves power and wants to rise to the top.

So everything has its pros and cons.

When you gain something, you inevitably lose something in return.

Take the matter discussed by Tang Xiaoquan and the others; if they contacted the so-called official individuals and successfully received shelter.

They perhaps wouldn’t worry about food and clothing, but in return, their safety and resource allocation would be controlled by others.

And the most troubling and challenging aspect of these times is people.

Even if zombies don’t attack, you can’t guarantee you won’t be bothered by so-called high-profile connections in the shelter.

Conversely, though the survivor team in their own base is in a remote location and has to worry about daily necessities and defending against invaders, the initiative is in their own hands.

Everyone around them has come through thick and thin, trustworth brothers and family, without needing to worry about deception and intrigue between people.

So reflecting calmly, Tang Xiaoquan doesn’t necessarily feel that official protection is that important right now.

Of course, the prerequisite for all of this is still that the base must be developed.

Only when you’re strong yourself can you survive unscathed in this chaotic world.

Nevertheless, since there’s speculation suggesting signs of government activity in WH City, it’s necessary to investigate when needed.

After all, the resources and intelligence the government holds are certainly more comprehensive and detailed than what ordinary people have.

Survivors struggle because they don’t understand the situation’s development.

Everyone is aimlessly surviving, unable to find direction in life and clueless about how to reverse the situation.

And these ordinary people’s confusion is exactly where the government excels.

At least to Tang Xiaoquan, although the major cities seem to be occupied by zombies and the agencies have been paralyzed.

Is it really so easy to overturn and disrupt a massive machine that supports a nation’s operation? How could the armies numbering in the hundreds of millions globally just be wiped out?

Even if all the troops are wiped out, the weapons and equipment remain. As long as the official is willing, they can assemble survivors to form new battalions at any time.

No matter how formidable zombies are, in the face of powerful firepower, frankly, they’re no match at all.

It’s just unfortunate these ideas are currently nothing more than elusive guesses.

"Live in the moment! Brother, Quan, you’re right. We should stop holding out for what’s in the pot while eating from the bowl, just focus on building our village, that’s better than anything!" Li Guo let go of his initial thinking.

Tang Xiaoquan lowered his head and nodded: "Speaking of construction, I’ve actually got another thing in mind."

"What’s it, Quan? Tell us." Raising his hand to gesture, Li Zhong took a sip from his tea mug.

"It’s like this, when we set out last time, didn’t you provide us with a camera?"

"Yeah! That’s right, how’s it been, useful?" Li Guo straightened his stance, full of anticipation.

Seeing the anticipation on Li Guo’s face, Tang Xiaoquan awkwardly rubbed his nose: "It’s useful... it’s quite useful, but... well..."

"Oh, Quan! Come on, just say it like it is. We’re all family here, good is good! Bad is bad! Both Guo and I are into research, each piece of equipment improves through countless failures and experiences. Don’t flatter just to save face for us. If you do that, I’ll get angry!" Furrowing his brow, Li Zhong feigned anger.

Tang Xiaoquan knew Li Zhong wasn’t truly angry, so he raised his hands in surrender and continued: "I’m being honest; the equipment’s field test was pretty normal, clear visuals, software operation was smooth. But as you guys know, the weather was terrible with heavy snowstorms. We placed it on the container truck to monitor the car conditions at night. But when snow piled up, nothing could be seen. I’m thinking if we could install some mechanical aids, like something to clear obstacles? Just my suggestion, as experts, you get my point, right?"

Upon finishing, Tang Xiaoquan glanced at the Li Family brothers.

Li Guo smiled and nodded: "Exactly, that’s right. If you don’t tell the truth, how could we know the equipment’s flaws? Don’t worry, you mentioned it, and it’s not a major problem, I’ll take care of it and ensure to solve it completely."

"Hehe, naturally, how could I not trust you, Guo? Well, I don’t have anything else. You guys have been working hard on the modifications recently. No rush, take good rest, I’ll be off now!"
