Sacrificed To The Triplet Alpha Kings

Chapter 433: Lilith Found Nicholas’s Journal

  • Next Chapter

Nicholas’s room was exactly as he had left it.

The bed was made, His desk was organized.....papers stacked neatly, pens arranged in a holder.

Personal items scattered throughout. Books on pack law and supernatural politics. A framed photograph of him with Sebastian and Lucian from years ago....all three of them younger and smiling.

And on the nightstand....

A journal.

Lilith crossed to it slowly and picked it up with shaking hands.

The leather was worn. Well-used. This was something Nicholas had written in regularly.

She should not read it. Should not invade his privacy this way.

But he was gone. And this was all that remained of him.

Lilith opened the journal to a random page and started reading.

The bonds are pulling tighter. I can feel Lilith even when she’s not in the room. Her emotions. Her pain. Her fear about the curse. It’s like being connected to someone who’s slowly dying and being unable to do anything except watch.

Sebastian thinks we can fix this. Lucian is angry at everything. And I....

I just want her to live. Whatever it takes. Whatever it costs. I want Lilith to have the chance at life that this curse has been stealing from her since the moment the bonds formed.

Lilith’s vision blurred with tears.

She flipped forward several pages and found another entry. This one dated just days before the transformation attempt.

If I’m being honest with myself, I know what’s coming. I know the transformation will fail. I know Lilith will die. And I know one of us will have to make an impossible choice to bring her back.

I hope it’s me. I hope I’m the one who gets to save her. Because Sebastian and Lucian....they need her more than they need me. They’re passionate and impulsive and they’ll fall apart without someone to ground them. But Lilith....Lilith can be that for them. She’s strong enough. Brave enough.

So if it comes down to a choice....my life for hers, I’ll take it without hesitation.

She’s worth it.

The last three words were underlined twice.

She’s worth it.

Lilith’s hands started shaking so badly she nearly dropped the journal.

He had known. Had suspected. Had been preparing himself to die for her even before the curse killed her.

"You stupid, noble, self-sacrificing...." Lilith’s voice broke into sobs.

Grief crashed over her like a physical force.

And her power responded again.

The surge was different this time. Not just raw power exploding outward.

This was controlled. Directed. Two distinct forces erupting from her simultaneously.

Death magic poured from her left hand. Everything it touched withered. Decayed. The wooden nightstand aged decades in seconds, wood cracking, varnish peeling, structure collapsing into rot.

Life magic blazed from her right hand. Plants erupted through the floorboards.....vines and moss and flowers that should not exist indoors, growing impossibly fast, covering the walls, spreading across the ceiling.

Lilith stood in the center of it all, crying, her power tearing the room apart and rebuilding it in the same breath.

The door slammed open.

Sebastian and Lucian rushed in and stopped dead at the sight.

Lilith standing in the middle of Nicholas’s room. Half of it decaying into ruin. Half of it being consumed by impossible vegetation. Dual magic on full display.

"Lilith!" Sebastian started forward.

"Don’t!" Elena’s voice cut through from the doorway. "Don’t touch her. She’s manifesting both sides. If you interrupt the flow, it could backlash."

Elena moved into the room carefully, avoiding the areas where death magic was strongest.

She approached Lilith slowly and placed a gentle hand on her shoulder.

"Lilith," Elena said quietly. "Look at me. Focus on my voice. You need to pull the power back. Slowly. Carefully. Don’t fight it. Just....guide it back into your core."

Lilith tried to focus through the grief and tears and overwhelming power.

Tried to pull the magic back the way Elena instructed.

Slowly, gradually, the dual forces began to retreat.

The decay stopped spreading. The plants stopped growing. The room fell still.

Lilith collapsed.

Sebastian caught her before she hit the floor.

"I’ve got you," he said. "I’ve got you."

Lilith pressed her face against his chest and sobbed.

Elena looked around the destroyed room with an expression that was equal parts awe and concern.

"This is what Thalia wanted," Elena said quietly. "This is why she helped with the resurrection. She knew Lilith would come back carrying this power. Knew she would become the most valuable supernatural being alive."

"Why would Thalia want that?" Lucian asked.

Elena’s expression darkened. "Because powerful witches make useful tools. And Thalia is very good at finding ways to use people."

She looked at Victoria who had appeared in the doorway.

Some silent communication passed between them. Some shared knowledge they were not revealing.

But before Lilith could ask, Sebastian spoke.

"We should go," he said. "Lilith needs rest. She’s not ready for this level of power manifestation yet."

He lifted her easily and carried her out of Nicholas’s destroyed room.

Lucian followed, casting one last look at the chaos of decay and growth.

Evidence of what Lilith had become.

Evidence of the power she now carried.

Evidence of why the supernatural world would soon come hunting.

*LATER THAT EVENING*

The memorial service for Nicholas was small.

Just pack leadership, The Betas, a few senior warriors. Victoria and Elena and Agnes representing the household staff.

No body to bury. No remains to lay to rest.

Just a cairn they built together on the eastern edge of the estate grounds. Stones stacked carefully. A marker for someone who no longer existed except in memory.

Lilith stood between Sebastian and Lucian and looked at the memorial.

Her hands were still shaking from the magic explosion in Nicholas’s room hours earlier.

Callum spoke first. Words about duty and honor and sacrifice. About an Alpha who had led with wisdom and strength until his final moments.

Others spoke too. Warriors sharing memories. Moments when Nicholas had shown kindness or courage or the particular brand of calm leadership that had made him so effective.

Then Sebastian looked at Lilith. "Do you want to say something?"
