Chapter 1296: Chapter 1296: You’ve Always Wanted to Know What Happened That Night, Haven’t You?
Watt felt a bit troubled by this, but the emotion quickly faded away.
Hasn’t she already tacitly allowed him to come and go freely here?
A closer relationship is a matter of time.
It’s already the middle of the night; Watt certainly can’t go back.
"Where have you been the past few days? Have you eaten? Want me to take you out for a bite?" He asked, standing in front of her.
Summer Sutton buried her head, tidied up her suitcase quickly, and stood up.
She actually didn’t want to pay Watt any mind, but having sat on a plane for over ten hours, she was really hungry.
After hesitating for a while, she ultimately headed towards the door.
Watt understood her intention, and happily followed her.
At this hour, two a.m., the only places open are a few 24-hour restaurants and street vendors selling barbecue.
On a winter night, the cold wind was somewhat piercing as they walked down the street one behind the other. Summer casually chose a hot pot restaurant to fill her belly.
By chance, they happened to run into Lorraine Hughes as soon as they entered the restaurant.
Lorraine seemed to have just wrapped up filming, accompanied by a few staff members.
Seeing Summer and Watt on this side, she paused for a moment.
Summer’s gaze swept across the restaurant towards her direction, catching sight of her from afar. Her gaze lingered for a moment, and she moved her seat closer to Watt.
Originally, she and Watt were separated by several chairs—Summer did it on purpose.
After seeing Lorraine appear, she closed the distance between herself and Watt, deliberately.
Knowing Watt’s perceptive nature, he saw through her machinations with a subtle twitch of his lips, but said nothing.
In fact, Summer like this made him rather pleased.
He liked it whenever Summer showed any signs of caring about him.
"Darling, what do you want to eat?" Watt cooperatively played along, not even glancing at Lorraine as he grabbed the menu and started browsing.
"You know my preferences." Summer entrusted the task of ordering entirely to him.
Watt certainly knew all of Summer Sutton’s preferences, not just her likes, but everything related to her.
Without asking further, he ordered a slew of dishes Summer loved before handing the menu to the waiter.
Lorraine and the staff had already come in.
Seeing Summer Sutton and Watt on this side, a staff member suggested softly, "Miss Hughes, should we choose a different restaurant?"
"No need." Lorraine casually tossed out two words to the person and made her way into the restaurant.
The hot pot restaurant they were in was actually quite small.
Today, to have Watt, such a legendary figure, come in was one thing; now Lorraine had arrived as well, making the owner feel overjoyed.
When attending to Lorraine, naturally the owner was enthusiastic, arranging a table beside Watt and Summer’s.
The winter night was chilly, but the restaurant was lively, even in the middle of the night.
Once the dishes were served, Watt spent the whole time picking dishes for Summer, his affection for her evident.
Lorraine sat next to them, quietly watching them for a long while, her fingers gently tightening around her chopsticks.
Suddenly, she spoke up, "Mr. Bennet, haven’t you always wanted to know what happened that night?"
The abrupt remark, neither too loud nor too soft, was just right for Summer and Watt to hear clearly.
