Chapter 1314: Chapter 1314: Move In and Live With You

Watt Bennet stared at her like this, momentarily dazed, and all of a sudden he had the feeling he was seeing the first light of a bright future for the two of them.

At that thought, the corners of his lips lifted slightly.

Summer Sutton had said she liked snowy weather.

And winter in Northtown was a season of heavy snow.

Watt Bennet had once said that in every snowy day to come, he hoped to see her by his side.

Now, it had been three years since they got married. After everything they’d been through, to still see her beside him in the same kind of weather—this feeling, to Watt Bennet, was really good.

After driving Summer Sutton back to the apartment, Watt Bennet didn’t go home that night.

Summer Sutton seemed used to him staying at her place; she didn’t say anything about him staying over.

Pushing his luck, Watt Bennet went back out in the car after they got home and bought some of his daily necessities.

Carrying the new things in, lining them up neatly in the bathroom next to hers, put Watt Bennet in a rather good mood tonight.

"Look, you usually live here alone, you don’t even have anyone to talk to. How about I move in and live with you?" He shot Summer Sutton a sidelong glance, his words half joking, half serious.

How could Summer Sutton not understand what he was thinking?

"Aren’t you getting a bit ahead of yourself, Mr. Bennet?" Summer Sutton didn’t even look at him, finished washing her face in a few quick motions, casually tied up her hair with a band, and went to take a shower.

She dawdled in the bathroom for quite a while; once she went in, more than half an hour passed and she still hadn’t come out.

Watt Bennet lay on the bed ahead of her, one arm under his head, listening to the splashing of water in the bathroom, and in that moment he suddenly thought of when they had just gotten married.

He and Summer Sutton had been married for three years now; they’d gotten their marriage license in winter too.

Three years wasn’t that long, but it wasn’t that short either, yet somehow, he felt as if he had come to understand her whole life.

In these three years, the two of them had gone round and round, but fortunately, they had somehow circled back to the starting point.

As he thought, Watt Bennet suddenly picked up his phone and checked the calendar.

Today was December 26th—their third anniversary was only a few days away...

Since they got married, there had been many meaningful days, and Watt Bennet had celebrated quite a few, but their wedding anniversary was the one day he had never really taken seriously.

It wasn’t that he didn’t care; it was just that after they married, if he wasn’t away on business, she was, and they were often not together. On top of that, in these three years they’d had countless fights and had been apart for long stretches of time.

Now she was by his side. Even though, strictly speaking, they were still in a "broken up" state, they hadn’t even signed the divorce papers!

Watt Bennet also believed that Summer Sutton would remember this day.

He kept this matter in mind. That night, staying at Summer Sutton’s place, his head spun with thoughts, all of them about how the two of them should spend their third anniversary.

Sending flowers, he felt, was too tacky, even though he had done countless such tacky things in the past.

He particularly despised men who only knew how to send flowers to women, so he quickly filtered that idea out of his mind and started thinking of many others.

When it came to how to make a woman happy, he actually didn’t have many tricks. After all, the only woman he’d ever had was Summer Sutton, and all his experience in love was with her.

The only things Watt Bennet knew to do, like most men, were to send flowers, cars, houses, jewelry, candlelight dinners, and the like.

He thought until his head ached and didn’t sleep well that night.

The next day, staring at his dark circles in the mirror, he gave Marshall Quinn a call.
