Chapter 1325: Chapter 1325: If I Had Left, How Would I Have Waited for You
Summer Sutton finding her way here was something Watt Bennet truly hadn’t anticipated.
In the sky, snowflakes were falling gently. Tonight, the snowfall was quite heavy, quickly turning Watt Bennet’s black coat white as they landed on his shoulders.
The restaurant was 108 floors high, surprisingly quiet, as if the world had dwindled down to just the two of them.
Summer Sutton stared blankly at him sitting in the terrace restaurant. Stunned for a few seconds, a complex emotion welled up in her chest.
He’s still here!
She hadn’t expected that.
When he called earlier tonight, they had already started arguing. She thought his temperament would lead him to storm off in anger.
Actually, to be honest, Summer can be a bit headstrong sometimes.
For instance, in tonight’s phone argument, she was more at fault.
He called so many times; she should have guessed it was something important!
Fortunately, it seems he never held her stubbornness against her.
As Summer continued to look at Watt Bennet, her chest grew warm and gentle.
The two of them stared at each other for quite a while, until Watt Bennet was the first to snap back to reality.
"Why didn’t you say you were coming? I could have picked you up." He was obviously surprised to see her and his voice carried a barely detectable joy.
Summer Sutton pressed down all the emotions in her chest and slowly walked towards him.
When she got to his side, she glanced at the roses filling the table.
There were many roses arranged on the table, forming a heart out of small bouquets. The design was quite deliberate.
A scene like this, anyone could tell its purpose at a glance.
Summer stared at the restaurant’s decor with some distraction, her voice slightly choked, "Are you an idiot?"
Watt Bennet furrowed his brows, not understanding her words.
"Why haven’t you left with snow coming down this hard?" Summer’s gaze turned to his thin coat, feeling an unspeakable heartache.
Snowy nights were naturally cold. Traveling from the recording site here, Summer was shivering all the way.
The restaurant was still an open-air environment with no heating. At 108 floors high, the temperature was much lower than on the ground, making sitting here akin to suffering for Summer.
Watt Bennet squinted, silently watching her.
He was observing Summer’s reaction, carefully examining her expression.
Seeing the faint heartache in her eyes, his face which had been stern all evening slowly softened.
She had come to celebrate their third anniversary, which could be considered indirect agreement to his reconciliation request, right?
Summer looked at him for a long time, then pulled out the chair opposite him and sat down.
"Why didn’t you leave?" Her tone wasn’t one of celebrating an anniversary but more of questioning, an interrogative tone.
"How could I wait for you if I left?" Watt Bennet responded to her question.
"Idiot!" Summer glared at him, her gaze shifting to his hands.
Watt Bennet’s hands were browsing through the menu, probably chilled from the cold restaurant environment, his joints slightly turned white from the cold.
Summer’s gaze lingered on his hands for a while, then shifted to his snow-dusted shoulders.
Her hand raised, inadvertently trying to brush the snowflakes off his shoulder, but Watt Bennet held her hand back.
Summer paused slightly, tilted her face to look at him, not understanding what he was trying to do.
Watt Bennet didn’t explain, just looked at her steadily, holding her hand tightly.
