Chapter 1326: Chapter 1326: Will You Be My Wife?
He looked at her, his gaze incomparably deep, as if an entire ocean was brewing in his eyes.
The way he was now made Summer Sutton’s heart flutter ever so slightly.
Watt Bennet held her hand tightly for quite a while, his voice very gentle. "I booked this dinner for my wife. Summer Sutton, do you know what it means that you came here tonight?"
Summer stayed silent and said nothing.
"I don’t care how long I have to wait. As long as, in the end, I’m waiting for you, every minute of it is worth it." Watt still didn’t let go of her hand. He looked at her with that fathomless gaze, as if his eyes were going to pull her in.
"Summer Sutton, will you be my wife?" Word by word, every sentence that rang out in the quiet restaurant was like aged wine, making Summer feel a little drunk.
"All this time, I’ve known what you mind the most. I can promise you, something like what happened with Lorraine Hughes won’t ever happen again. The only person I’ve ever wanted is you. As long as you’re willing to come back, I promise you that in this lifetime, you’ll be the only woman I have. If I break this, may lightning strike me dead!" He sounded like he was taking some kind of oath; when he spoke to Summer, his tone was extremely serious.
Summer actually believed him. Even with this whole Lorraine thing, she believed that as long as Watt had even a sliver of awareness, he would never do anything to betray her.
Summer quietly listened to him. Just as Watt was about to raise his hand to swear, she pressed his hand down.
"Didn’t you say you prepared a gift for tonight? It was all over the news, remember? Where is it?" She lifted bouquet after bouquet of roses on the table, rummaging through the sea of flowers.
What she wanted to find was that legendary bottle of perfume worth tens of billions.
It was something Watt had designed, and designed for one person only. She naturally assumed it had to be for her, and that it would definitely show up on an occasion like tonight.
Who knew that after turning the whole table upside down, she didn’t find the perfume, but instead found a ring.
A very beautiful diamond ring, also a blue diamond. Just from the quality of the stone, it was obvious that it was worth at least over a hundred million.
"What’s this?" Summer was a little surprised. She picked it up, examined it over and over, then slipped it onto her finger.
The size fit perfectly; clearly, it had been prepared for her.
But their wedding rings were something they already had. Ever since he put it on her finger, Summer had never taken it off. There was no need for him to give her another ring.
Still, that blue diamond really was gorgeous.
Most of the diamonds on the market were white. You almost never saw blue ones. Never mind that the color was rare—this one’s quality was also stunning.
Summer raised her hand, the one now wearing the ring, and looked at it again and again under the light. The more she looked, the more beautiful she found it.
The ring was lovely, and it looked even lovelier on her hand.
"It’s for my wife," Watt said, expression unchanged.
Summer still didn’t chew on his wording too carefully. "You really didn’t have to. You’ve already given me so many things like this."
Ever since they got married, just the jewelry she’d received from him was worth at least several tens of billions altogether.
Even though Summer herself had lived pretty poor when she was on her own, if you counted the heirlooms her family had put away, her net worth had already been sky-high for a long time.
Her words only made Watt chuckle softly.
He didn’t bother explaining much. He just tossed out a light line: "Just make sure you keep it."
With a ring this expensive, there was no way Summer wasn’t going to store it properly.
Once she’d put it on, she didn’t take it off. "So, what about the perfume?"
She was fixated on this question; the news reports had been so sensational that she was convinced it had to be for her.
