Chapter 1408: Chapter 1508: All Her Fortune Comes From Him

The silence fell between them once more.

Summer Sutton continued dining while discretely observing Manuel Ink.

She couldn’t quite understand if his appearance today was by chance or a deliberate effort to find her.

If he had come seeking her, then what was the reason?

Summer Sutton suddenly recalled Manuel Ink on Glara Island, somewhat different from before.

Would he stand by Old Master Ink’s side?

Summer Sutton was already on guard back on Glara Island when Manuel Ink hadn’t sent her away for all those days, sensing he was different from before.

For this version of Manuel Ink, she should have been aware of the potential danger.

However, in his presence, Summer Sutton found it difficult to remain vigilant.

Perhaps she trusted him too much, leading her to believe that, whatever Manuel’s current mindset, he wouldn’t do anything to harm her?

Throughout dinner, she glanced at Manuel Ink countless times without showing it.

Manuel Ink might have noticed her gaze; just as dinner was concluding, his face suddenly lifted.

His unexpected movement startled her, and she couldn’t retract her gaze in time, locking eyes with him.

Caught in a mutual stare, Summer Sutton felt a bit embarrassed.

"Did you discover something about me?" Manuel Ink asked.

Summer Sutton was stunned for two seconds, then joked with him, "You look better than usual today."

Manuel Ink hadn’t expected her to say that, was caught off guard and raised an eyebrow slightly.

"Actually, you always look great. You’re good-looking at all times." Summer Sutton quickly corrected, sensing her mistake.

She was clearly brushing him off, Manuel Ink understood this but chose not to point it out.

"Are things going well at the company now?" He asked, switching the topic.

Once this subject was brought up, Summer Sutton had much to say.

"I’m doing well at the current company; after all, it’s what my father left behind. I’ve had a goal since I was young, to reclaim my father’s company. Now, although I haven’t truly achieved it, entering Sutton Clan Group has brought me one step closer. In my father’s company, everything is going well; maybe I’ve had good fortune. Everywhere I go, there’s someone to support me, perhaps I’m blessed with luck?"

In fact, Summer Sutton never considered herself lucky. Her father passed away when she was five, leaving only her and her grandfather together.

At fourteen, her grandfather also passed, leaving her an orphan, eventually being driven out of the Walyon Family.

Her luck began only when she met Adrian Walyon.

Her benefactor had always been Adrian Walyon, later joined by Manuel Ink.

Because of Adrian Walyon, she found a home.

Because of Adrian Walyon, she transformed from solitary solitude to someone admired, surrounded with support.

It was also because of Adrian Walyon that she found reliance and attachment, and the world became warmer after meeting him.

Thinking of Adrian Walyon, Summer Sutton’s lips curved unconsciously.

She took out her phone and stared at the screen.

She checked for any calls from Watt Bennet, worried that he might be concerned about her.

Her movements were small, yet Manuel Ink noticed them.

Manuel Ink fixed his gaze on the curve of her smiling lips, closed his eyes slightly.

He kept them closed for a while as if restraining something.

Summer Sutton didn’t notice his reaction and continued watching her phone.

Finding no call from Watt Bennet, she checked her messages.

There were no messages from him either; was he really so at ease?
