Chapter 1409: Chapter 1509: Honey, I’ve Been Thinking About You

Summer Sutton kept refreshing her WeChat, confirming that there wasn’t a single message from Watt Bennet, which suddenly upset her.

This wasn’t like him!

Normally, if she didn’t wait for him and went off with someone else instead, Adrian Walyon would have blown up like a volcano by now.

Or maybe he was sitting at home, ready to give her the cold shoulder once she returned?

At this thought, Summer Sutton felt a chill down her back.

She hadn’t even finished her dinner and didn’t bother with it anymore, jumping up suddenly.

"Manuel, I’m sorry, but I have to head back. He’ll be worried if he doesn’t see me." Grabbing her bag, Summer Sutton rushed out of the restaurant without looking back.

She hurriedly ran outside, where a taxi happened to be passing by. Flagging it down, Summer Sutton got in and left the restaurant.

As soon as her figure disappeared, a shadow slowly appeared at the restaurant entrance.

Turning his head, he looked at Manuel Ink who was still sitting in place. The person at the door walked in, tapping a cane sharply on his table.

"I told you, she left with you. With such a good opportunity, why let her go back to another man? Manuel Ink, can’t you show the ruthlessness you have in business?"

It was as if Manuel Ink didn’t hear the old man’s words; he called the waiter over, paid the bill, and leisurely walked out after the Old Master...

...

When Summer Sutton hurried back to Scenic Garden, it was seven-thirty.

The Scenic Garden was quiet today. The gate to the garden was pushed open, the squeaking of the iron gate echoed loudly in the snowy night, seemingly magnified countless times, becoming the only sound in the house.

The hall lights were on, indicating Watt Bennet was clearly there.

Summer Sutton tiptoed in, trying to guess the expression on Watt Bennet’s face at that moment.

She had stood him up, having agreed in the morning to wait for him to pick her up that evening.

In the end, just as his car was about to arrive, she messaged him to say she had plans with a friend.

She didn’t even need to imagine; Watt Bennet’s face must be looking extremely grim right now.

Summer Sutton could even predict what he would say to her next.

Something like, "Summer Sutton, are you looking for trouble? Didn’t you know I was just about to be there? You couldn’t wait a few minutes?"

"Summer Sutton, how dare you blow me off?"

"What friend could be more important than me?"

The imagery in Summer Sutton’s mind was vivid, and she could even hear Watt Bennet’s low growl in her ears.

Her heart was pounding quickly as she walked, unable to suppress a shiver.

When she went inside, Watt Bennet was sitting in the living room, his eyes fixed on the television ahead, with no expression at all on his face.

The scene was exactly as Summer Sutton had imagined.

Noticing her return, he turned his head, his gaze slowly sweeping over her.

He looked at her steadily, his eyes somewhat cold.

That gaze was just as Summer Sutton had imagined.

She really knew him well; his reactions were all within her expectations.

"Adrian, I’m back!" Summer Sutton softly greeted him.

Watt Bennet didn’t respond to her, but kept staring at her, taking deep breaths.

He seemed to be restraining something, standing up, as his thin lips moved, about to speak, when Summer Sutton suddenly took a few steps forward. She rose on her tiptoes, wrapped her arms around his neck, and kissed him hard on the lips.

"Honey, I was thinking about you the whole time!"

Her voice was soft and naturally sweet, her aroma more fragrant than the Eva Noble roses in the garden.

Watt Bennet didn’t expect her to pull such a move, his body stiffened slightly.

Summer Sutton was trying to coax him, but what she said was also true.
