Chapter 1420 -1520: You’re the One Who Bought the Company, Aren’t You?
On the way back, Summer Sutton’s mind kept replaying the figure she saw that afternoon.
From time to time, she turned her head slightly, letting her gaze wander over Watt Bennet.
The more she looked, the more she felt the person she saw that afternoon was Watt Bennet.
Summer Sutton wasn’t confident in recognizing others, but when it came to Adrian Walyon, she trusted her instincts.
Her feelings about Adrian Walyon had never been wrong, right?
This time, Summer Sutton believed it was no exception.
Although she already had an answer in her heart, without Watt Bennet’s verbal confirmation, Summer Sutton still couldn’t be sure.
On the way back, she was in such reflective contemplation the entire journey.
Their dinner was prepared at home, and after the nanny came to prepare the meal, she left.
During dinner, Summer Sutton served Watt Bennet a bowl of soup and distractedly helped him with some dishes. She stared at him countless times. Once Watt Bennet noticed how off she seemed today, he initiated the conversation, “What’s up? Just say it if there’s something on your mind.”
Gently stirring the soup in her bowl with a spoon, Summer Sutton considered for a moment, then looked steadily at him, straightforwardly asking, “Adrian, Father’s company is in your hands now, isn’t it? The person I saw in the conference room this afternoon was you, right?”
Watt Bennet’s hand holding the chopsticks seemed to pause slightly, but he stayed silent without speaking.
“I’ve thought this over countless times. I think only you could do this, and only you would have the capability to develop a nearly bankrupt company to its current scale. Aside from you, I can’t think of anyone else who would value Sutton Clan.” As Summer Sutton spoke, she decided to lay all her thoughts out.
Back then, when Sutton Clan Group was acquired, it took over William Sutton’s helm.
At that time, Sutton Clan Group wasn’t as glorious as it had been under Father Sutton. Back then, Sutton Clan was practically a dying straw.
What about such a company would interest other enterprises in acquiring it?
No commercial value whatsoever, no potential visions—what was the purpose of its acquisition?
If the person acquiring it was Adrian Walyon, then everything was explained.
Adrian Walyon’s purchase of it all was undoubtedly for her. Summer Sutton’s longtime wish, something Adrian Walyon was aware of.
In this world, the person who always understood her the best was him!
As Summer Sutton thought these things over, she became more and more certain the mastermind behind Sutton Clan Group had to be Adrian Walyon, looking at him with expectant eyes.
Watt Bennet remained silent for quite a while after her words, seemingly hesitating over something.
After nearly seven to eight minutes of silence, his face slowly lifted.
He didn’t directly answer her question; he simply curled his lips into a gentle smile.
This smile carried a significance Summer Sutton couldn’t comprehend.
But, he didn’t deny it!
His lack of denial meant she’d guessed right, hadn’t she?
“Adrian…” Her heart felt like a roiling sea; Summer Sutton’s chest overflowed with warmth.
Without saying a word, she suddenly opened her arms and embraced him tightly.
Her face buried against his chest, her shoulders trembling slightly, she just held him, holding him tightly. After a long, long time, Watt Bennet heard the faint sound of sobbing from the person in his arms.
Summer Sutton was truly overwhelmed, too happy to see Adrian Walyon’s shadow appear before the company. No matter how she thought it over, she hadn’t initially realized Father’s company had been back in her possession for such a long time.
